Kevin Harden is the man. You should see my tattoo. Ever since he worked on me, that's been my…read morefavorite body part. I just went there yesterday to brainstorm the other shoulder with him. So when I went to him, he really explained to me how tattoos should work with the part of the body that you want done. You can't just get anything and put it anywhere. Me not being artistic at all, never would've figured this out, but when he explained it to me and showed me on my body why this worked, why that didn't work - it made total sense. Second thing - I didn't even have a specific idea of what I wanted. I gave him a really general idea of what I wanted...basically a motif. I had no real idea of type of art or style. He basically consulted me through the whole thing with my vague-ass not helping at all. He comes back a week later with like 8 different sketches of what he's come up with and I like all of them. He told me which one was his favorite, and obviously it was the boldest and scariest one to get done of them all. But he explained to me the impact and effect of getting it done and why he chose it. After thinking about it and him calling me a wuss because i was worried about the pain in my freaking armpit (!) I was like, "Let's do it" (like the guy in the FedEx Kinkos commercial that keeps talking a big game). Two weeks later, I was more than happy with how it turned out. Two years later it's still badass everytime I look at it. Really messes people up when they see it too. Oh yeah, it does mean something too. Go to Kevin, go to his website. Look at his art. Talk to him. Seriously, if you want to get something done its worth the drive to sit down and brainstorm with my man. Unless you know someone personally in the city, if you go into anyone of the shops and try and get something custom done with just a general idea, the artists aren't really going to help you. That's been my experience - like I wasn't worth the time or something. Kevin's different. I think he'll take the time. Just don't ask him for an armband or a butterfly. You'll have a long drive home, or you can go shopping at the outlet mall instead to make yourself feel better after he kicks you out for asking him to do a daisy on you ass. I'm just sayin'...if you go you better man up. Or woman up.

I drove 2 hours because I know the quality of his work and the care he takes to be safely clean. As he worked we talked and I found Pedro to be very interesting and kind. I complimented her on the fullness and brightness of her lips, and that's when she stated to me that she had a lips tattooed.... Immediately after, I knew I would have to get mine tattoo/tinted because how good it looked. I was very hesitant on where to go because this is permanent, and its on my face.. FINALLY after looking for the right person, I found Robyn at Ink & Arch, and I am SO glad I did. Robyns work is so beyond what this review can describe. From the moment I walked into her studio I felt like I made the right decision. She took her time penciling out my lip line before she got started tattooing. The lining was clean and accurate, she checked in with me the whole time to make sure how I felt about it. She did great penciling out my lips so I trusted her to proceed. We looked at colors, which she has very many of and I chose a pinkish/light red color (mixed two colors together) After the tattoo processing began, I was nervous naturally and of course it hurt just a bit but this is all expected. Robyn checked on me throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was ok! Upon completion, Robyn pulled up a mirror to my lips, I was in complete shock-- I absolutely LOVED my lips, the lining was FLAWLESS. I honestly couldn't believe how great my lips looked. The best feeling is waking up in the morning and looking lively because of my lips. I have received tons of compliments on my lips, sometimes I want to play it off like its my natural lip but I cannot because that means I wouldn't be able to rave about Robyn work. If you have the slightest inclining that you want to do it, just book, she will not disappoint! Ps- PRIOR to my appointment with Robyn, I was planning on getting fillers after my lips healed from the tattoo. I no longer needed to do that because the color added so much fullness and boldness to my lips so I decided to skip out on the fillers. I am so happy with my decision!
