She is very detail oriented and makes sure everything is just right (and also numb!) before she starts. I have very light hair and fair skin and the brows and liner are perfect. They look completely natural, even when I'm not wearing any other makeup. I came to her Geneva location to get my annual touch up. As always - she took her time and made sure my brows and eye liner were perfect. The Geneva location is lovely - relaxing and clean and in a great spot in the downtown area. From the moment I met Joanna for my consultation she put me at ease. She answered all my questions from her sanitation method (new disposable tools are used) to how often she replaces her pigments (she runs out of them fairly quickly way before their expiration date). I had initially intended to have the hybrid (microblading and powder) service, but Joanna was truthful and upfront with me. She explained that due to my oily skin complexion I would not get the desired result from microblading as the strokes will be muddy and blurred once healed because of the excess oil my skin produces. I really appreciated her honesty. I'm also glad that Joanna took her time getting to the desired eyebrow shape and color that I wanted. Every decision from shape to color I was included in which made me feel that she truly listens. She also made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process insuring that there was enough numbing cream where I didn't have to feel a thing other than what felt like a nice massage on my eyebrows. My first session was on May 30th where I'll share a before and after photo. My 2nd session was on July 16th and am currently in the healing process. I will update with the final results once healed. Having done this has made me more confident. My face looks more defined because I have eyebrows again. I had over tweezed them in my teens where I was left with no shape and sparse, thin eyebrow hair. I don't wear makeup daily so I didn't want to draw in eyebrows with a bare face, and I didn't want to spend 15mins drawing them in each time. Joanna has given me beautiful, natural looking brows! Immediately after, I knew I would have to get mine tattoo/tinted because how good it looked. I was very hesitant on where to go because this is permanent, and its on my face.. FINALLY after looking for the right person, I found Robyn at Ink & Arch, and I am SO glad I did. Robyns work is so beyond what this review can describe. From the moment I walked into her studio I felt like I made the right decision. She took her time penciling out my lip line before she got started tattooing. The lining was clean and accurate, she checked in with me the whole time to make sure how I felt about it. She did great penciling out my lips so I trusted her to proceed. We looked at colors, which she has very many of and I chose a pinkish/light red color (mixed two colors together) After the tattoo processing began, I was nervous naturally and of course it hurt just a bit but this is all expected. Robyn checked on me throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was ok! Upon completion, Robyn pulled up a mirror to my lips, I was in complete shock-- I absolutely LOVED my lips, the lining was FLAWLESS. I honestly couldn't believe how great my lips looked. The best feeling is waking up in the morning and looking lively because of my lips. I have received tons of compliments on my lips, sometimes I want to play it off like its my natural lip but I cannot because that means I wouldn't be able to rave about Robyn work. If you have the slightest inclining that you want to do it, just book, she will not disappoint! Ps- PRIOR to my appointment with Robyn, I was planning on getting fillers after my lips healed from the tattoo. She told me to leave my brows alone- no tweezing, trimming, shaving, nothing. Just let them grow. She said the brows would fill in and she would be able to make them look even better than they did. I couldn't even imagine how I would survive. But I did. They were furry. Had a grey one. Every time I looked in the mirror I wanted to cry as they grew out. Fast forward 6-8 weeks. I saw her today. Since my older sister got hers done, though in another place and hers look amazing! However, I tried this place since it was near my home! Reviews looked good and I went for it! Bad mistake!! My eyebrows looked like "Maria Felix" an old Mexican actress! Too wide, too thick and very black! The upper corner not properly even with mine natural brow and I'm light skin and light brown hair, and light brown eyes. I look like an alien at this time! I don't understand why she made them "dead black" - And I wanted hair stokes to enhance my brow - Now look's like a big error on paper and you corrected it with the eraser. O' she said it's easy to correct them!!! right!!! With "salt wash" or something like that - did not work! thoug, you got to wait 1 mo. (But of course you sign tons of paper so you won't sew them)!!!!!!! She was making up stories that maybe I had a medical condition and that's why it's not working! Which we tried the "salt wash 2 times" and the black turned more RED - RED! No joke!!!! I did have a hyperthyroid that I was not aware off - got that taken out asked my Dr which she said that has nothing to do with trying to get microblading. I really now look like a disfigured clown!! I currently going to a different licensed facility I've had 5 "pico Laser tattoo removal" sessions - don't know how many more - since my new place said that who ever did - doesn't know about colors and pigmentactions so more likely she mixes wrong colors and thats why my eyebrows have the extra RED lines..... Dont know the length and suffering trying to get riddoff this lousy crap of micro blading on my brows - I THINK, I SHOULD HAVE a REFUND plus extra FOR PAIN and SUFFERING - Laser do hurt/burn! Mary, did my brows originally on Aug, 2021, the salt wash on Sep, Oct. 2021. I had No choice!!! Though after my procedure I stated looking at other location, and Thank God I found one. She cancelled the first appointment we set up because of something that came up with her son. No problem. When another appointment was set and I got to her salon, she became brisk with me when she saw that what I really needed was a fix to previously tattooed brows that were done with ink that she said was the wrong kind. Since there were no qualifiers to the contest, I had no idea that I would be a problem. At that point, she acted like she wouldn't honor the "free" element to this deal and I told her I was willing to pay for the extra it would take for her to fix my brows. Her work was good but after the initial appointment where she attempted to lift some of the bad color (which I paid her to do), I went in for a second appointment to get the brows colored. Again, I paid her something for doing that. I needed a third appointment (which she indicated I needed) but she no longer returned my calls when I was attempting to set something up. The whole experience left me wondering how she manages to stay in business. She could use a lesson or two in how to treat people.
