From the moment I met Joanna for my consultation she put me at ease. She answered all my questions from her sanitation method (new disposable tools are used) to how often she replaces her pigments (she runs out of them fairly quickly way before their expiration date). I had initially intended to have the hybrid (microblading and powder) service, but Joanna was truthful and upfront with me. She explained that due to my oily skin complexion I would not get the desired result from microblading as the strokes will be muddy and blurred once healed because of the excess oil my skin produces. I really appreciated her honesty. I'm also glad that Joanna took her time getting to the desired eyebrow shape and color that I wanted. Every decision from shape to color I was included in which made me feel that she truly listens. She also made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process insuring that there was enough numbing cream where I didn't have to feel a thing other than what felt like a nice massage on my eyebrows. My first session was on May 30th where I'll share a before and after photo. My 2nd session was on July 16th and am currently in the healing process. I will update with the final results once healed. Having done this has made me more confident. My face looks more defined because I have eyebrows again. I had over tweezed them in my teens where I was left with no shape and sparse, thin eyebrow hair. I don't wear makeup daily so I didn't want to draw in eyebrows with a bare face, and I didn't want to spend 15mins drawing them in each time. Joanna has given me beautiful, natural looking brows! She is very detail oriented and makes sure everything is just right (and also numb!) before she starts. I have very light hair and fair skin and the brows and liner are perfect. They look completely natural, even when I'm not wearing any other makeup. I came to her Geneva location to get my annual touch up. As always - she took her time and made sure my brows and eye liner were perfect. The Geneva location is lovely - relaxing and clean and in a great spot in the downtown area. The lining was clean and accurate, she checked in with me the whole time to make sure how I felt about it. She did great penciling out my lips so I trusted her to proceed. We looked at colors, which she has very many of and I chose a pinkish/light red color (mixed two colors together) After the tattoo processing began, I was nervous naturally and of course it hurt just a bit but this is all expected. Robyn checked on me throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was ok! Upon completion, Robyn pulled up a mirror to my lips, I was in complete shock-- I absolutely LOVED my lips, the lining was FLAWLESS. I honestly couldn't believe how great my lips looked. Called and sent them a fb message. Not once did anyone mention they stop taking walk in at 7:30pm. I drove 25 min each way. Gas is around $5 a gallon. Their response was even crazier. Blaming being short staffed on Sunday but that was irrelevant. Then also told me I have to pay for new jewelry even if it is their fault on sizing. I wanted to love them so bad. The shop is so cute and the girls are sweet. But the lack of communication is ridiculous. Especially since I messaged them before 7:30pm yesterday to say I'm coming!

I started reading up on "Permanent Makeup" with the hope I could find a good artist to help restore my brows with a "natural look". That is when I stumbled upon Kelly's Totally Cool Makeup site. I went in for my consultation feeling nervous--after all, I had never even had a tattoo placed in a hidden spot much less had permanent makeup etched into my face! Once I sat down, explained to Kelly what I was looking for in my brows and she carefully listened, I realized I had found the right "artist". Like an artist, she measured my face, helped me select colors, she spoke to me about shape of my brow and she even PAINTED on the color and shape so I could make the final choice of shape on my own; I appreciated this as it gave me the visual I needed to feel confident that I would end up with what I wanted. I started with a more conservative approach..a lighter color and not as thick at first. I went in 4 weeks later for my "touch up (included in the price) and Kelly added dimension with a deeper color. I loved it. Since that time, two years ago, I went in again recently to add color, dimension and shape. Now at 50, my brows are more beautiful than ever! I am an athlete and fitness instructor who walks around most often with no make up--I run, swim and sweat a lot! And still, most people have NO IDEA my brows are "permanent makeup". When another appointment was set and I got to her salon, she became brisk with me when she saw that what I really needed was a fix to previously tattooed brows that were done with ink that she said was the wrong kind. Since there were no qualifiers to the contest, I had no idea that I would be a problem. At that point, she acted like she wouldn't honor the "free" element to this deal and I told her I was willing to pay for the extra it would take for her to fix my brows. Her work was good but after the initial appointment where she attempted to lift some of the bad color (which I paid her to do), I went in for a second appointment to get the brows colored. Again, I paid her something for doing that. I needed a third appointment (which she indicated I needed) but she no longer returned my calls when I was attempting to set something up. The whole experience left me wondering how she manages to stay in business. She could use a lesson or two in how to treat people.
