Fantastic hair cuts and color!! Love it! Melanie gave me such a wonderful new cut and color that sent both my son and daughter to her and they were equally pleased and thought it was one of their best cuts ever! Melanie took the time to figure out we were looking for, made recommendations based on hair types (mine is so thick I had stuck with the same cut for years, but trusted Melanie to try give me something new) and then gave us all great cuts!!! Melanie also does feathers and hair extensions so my daughter was thrilled. We highly recommend OBX hair and will drive back from Raleigh to get our cuts / color from here again!! read more

I am constantly trying to figure out what kind of hair style I want to try. Normally at other places you have to know every detail you want for your hair but here they help and can actually give advice to make your hair look amazing. They do a fantastic job! I got extensions because I LOVE long hair and mine grows way to slow. They did a wonderful job on how they look and making sure I had all the proper things I needed to take care of them. I absolutely love what Melanie did with my hair! She is so friendly and welcoming. I got everything I wanted done. She's not only very professional, but she has a passion for hair. She's was very attentive to what I ask and gave me some cool tips to take home when my hair was nearly done. I have very hard to handle hair and she fixed me right up. Do make sure to call in advance to get an appointment in, she's super busy! (because she's that good) I highly recommend coming here to get your hair done. read more

10 out of 10 would recommend. I will definitely be back to see Diane. I just moved here 8 weeks ago and as a hairdresser myself, have made some questionable post break up/quarantine hair decisions. Struggled into OBXHS late yesterday looking like I'd been living way way off the grid. Greeted very nicely considering my banshee looking hair. In a manner of speaking Diane did a great job and as mom used to say made me look somewhat presentable. They also have secondary occupations of cell phone "finders", especially Diane. She shows up late and says " I do not work past 2:00 pm would you like to reschedule" . As a husband that will have to deal with my spouse, a former owner of multiple retail businesses and restaurants, and a resident I feel it is my responsibility to say do not go here. If a business can not honor their appointments, show up on time, and not even try to accommodate you will lose all your customers! Oh and you came as a recommendation but they had not been there in a while. I will make sure to let them know..to not come back!

It is not that I'm ruff on the nails. The first time it happened I went back and they fixed the nails that didn't last but a day. Then the last two times I came back home to Virginia and could not go back as I live 4 hours away, both times my nails chipped in two days. When I go to my nail salon in VA the manicure lady 2 1/2 to 3 weeks! I won't go back after spending $100 for a manicure/petti plus tip it's a waste of money. I do not recommend this salon, I have tried three different technicians and all of them have not been very good. I took pictures this last time and would love to show them when I return.
