We've had a great first year at Heart Christian Academy. As a family new to homeschooling and…read moreentering directly into Kindergarten, we felt supported from day one. Mrs. Crowley, our kindergarten teacher, is truly exceptional--kind, patient, and incredibly caring toward both students and parents. If you're starting kindergarten at Heart, I highly recommend asking for Mrs. Crowley! Because of this positive experience, we're confidently continuing with Heart and enrolling both of our children next year. We're very grateful for this school and community. Other Details: I never thought I'd be a "homeschool" parent, but Heart makes it easy with a great balance of structure and flexibility. The kids are still taught by their HCA leaders/teachers twice a week and three times by me, which we love. Plus, they do chapel on the first Monday of every month, and it's so sweet to see the kids and parents worship together (parents are encouraged to attend, roughly half can). We're in San Clemente, and the drive is only about 15 minutes, twice a week--totally manageable. I highly recommend Heart Christian Academy!

Hands-down the best school decision I've ever made! After years of searching for the right private…read moreschool, Heart Christian Academy is the one that finally feels like home. From the first tour, I knew this place was different--warm, Christ-centered, and truly excellent in every way.The leadership team brings over 20 years of real educational experience, and it shows. Every teacher and staff member operates with wisdom, kindness, and a genuine love for what they do. The curriculum is strong, the biblical worldview is woven into everything, and the environment is exactly what I've always wanted. If you're looking for a school that partners with families, stands firmly on truth, and still manages to feel like one big family....I recommend HCA to everyone I know and thank God every day that this school exists. Five stars isn't enough!

ATTENTION DONORS: You may want to consider donating to Mercy Warehouse or Goodwill and here's why::…read moreWe donate often expensive furniture in hopes that someone who is unable to afford brand new or retail store prices (esp in this current economy w gasoline, Insurance and food so high.) -I know when i donate special furniture, antiques, purses, jewelry, artwork etc.. We imagine a lucky person inheriting our loved possessions... Unfortunately Laura's House keeps most of the nice furniture for themselves to either use in their store or forward it to another secret location. I have followed this habit of theirs now for several years and it both saddens and disappoints with this wrong practice.. So think twice when donating your loved items. Additionally their prices are very high and they even charge for bags (Mercy Warehouse Does Not) So if you have something really nice and of value please consider Mercy Warehouse in Laguna Niguel next to Vineyard Christian church.-- It will truly go to a deserving person and what they cannot sell the donate to orphanages

Thrifting for a good cause? Don't threaten me with a good time…read more Laura's House in San Juan Capistrano is my favorite thrift store in this area. You can spend hours exploring their clothing, home decor, sports gear, and knickknacks. I was particularly on the market for winter wear and the men's section was a goldmine. I grabbed a GAP blue knit sweater and a Seahawks jacket. The women's section was a bit more picked over, but I still managed to find a cute going-out top and pair of linen white pants. This entire haul was $20! Such a steal. Their pricing is a bit confusing unless you speak the language. Each tag color is associated with a different price, but you can find a clear breakdown above the cash register. I personally love this type of pricing at thrift stores. Goodwill/Salvation Army assign pricing per item and gauge you for any brand name.

I ventured over to PetSmart during an adoption event and immediately fell in love with a black and white 5 month old. Took my hubby and son back a few days later and there was my little kitty but this time she had a roommate! He was just as cute and sweet and we all fell in love. What sealed the deal was the foster mom answering all our questions and taking all the time we needed with her. We adopted them both and couldn't be happier. They are healthy, well socialized and fun! Thank you Ark for our new family members. We love them so much!

I'm reviewing the cat yoga event that I participated in!…read more I'm a huge fan of cats! I'm also a huge supporter of the ark of San Juan. They usually have monthly cat yoga events to raise money for to take care and run their chattery. Cat yoga is yoga but you have cats running around while you stretch and relax. This yoga is beginner friendly. You would need to bring your own mat and be dressed and ready. I love our instructor. She's very calm and I like her cat metaphors when we go to into different stretches. It's very simple yoga that any beginner can follow. The cats present at these events are also up for adoption; it helps them adapt more to humans for socialization. Overall, I recommend it if you have the time. It's well worth it if you're a cat person...but you may want to come home with a new addition to your fur family
