Her predatory behavior and complete lack of ethics during a severe medical crisis have left me financially devastated. ​1. Bait-and-Switch "Flat Fee" Deception ​She advertised herself as a Flat Fee attorney. At the start, she explicitly told me, "The beauty of a flat fee is that even if we go to court, it won't cost more than $20,000." However, after I was forced to fire her, her accounting statement revealed she secretly billed me at $450/hour. I paid $20,000 before we even reached mediation, while my ex-spouse's attorney fees totaled only $7,000. Because I was on unpaid medical leave, in extreme pain, and spending hours doing her paperwork with limited hand mobility, I didn't realize the extent of the financial exploitation until it was too late. ​2. Extreme Negligence and Court No-Show ​3.5 Hours Late: She completely missed the start of my Temporary Protective Order (TPO) hearing because she overslept. ​Case Compromised: Her absence infuriated the judge and deeply compromised my case!! ​Zero Accountability: Her negligence added an extra $3,500 to my costs. She refused to issue a refund and actually blamed me for her being late. ​3. Exploitation of a Critically Ill Client ​Throughout this ordeal, I was only 12 weeks post-op from life-saving surgery. I had limited use of my hands and was literally relearning how to speak due to a new titanium neck implant. Instead of showing advocate-level care, she was beyond rude and took total advantage of my physical vulnerability. ​Current Status ​I had to fire her and hire a new lawyer. I am not even halfway through my original legal process, and my new counsel has already recommended I hire a separate attorney just to recoup the thousands of dollars stolen from me. ​Do not trust her advertising or her word. They rarely responded to or addressed my emails or return my calls. Pathetic. They seem to be way more concerned with accumulating hours... possibly in an attempt to make partner? The hours they accumulated didn't seem to help move my case closer to settlement. I feel they are not a divorce firm to use... and I'm sure you could throw a rock into a bunch of lawyers and find someone more concerned and able to help your case. $40,000 later... they dropped me because I was 4 days late on paying a $2,000 invoice. That's right... 4 days! Keep in mind that visitation was already resolved before approaching this firm. They only needed to provide my soon to be Ex with an offer for alimony and child support. After a year of depleting the retainer... they never once put together even one offer to my Ex. Not one! Less than one year of them doing NOTHING and incurring $40,000... for just my side of this divorce. I feel they have ZERO compassion for their clients and have no sympathy for what married couples are going through in the difficult process of Divorce. Not sure why... but, it felt like THEY WOULDN'T RESPOND TO EMAILS OR CALL ME BACK... EVER I'd say to Skip this firm... at all costs! I feel they are simply one of the worst on the planet... Find anyone else! I believe you could represent yourself and get further along then simply giving them hours as they all work towards partnership. I think they are a pathetic bunch of losers... and they do not deserve to represent anyone! Too bad the court system couldn't find a way to weed out the pathetic lawyers (and firms) and put them out of business. I feel these guys give the 1% of good lawyers a bad name...
