After taking a second look at our space, Bert hawked a big loogie on our freshly laid decorative rock (true story!) and began telling us how he would need to "sharpen his pencil" for a more competitive offer. Fast forward 3 months later when we emailed Bert and asked him why he never sent us an estimate. He apologized for his lack of professionalism but STILL has yet to deliver an estimate for the work. If I could designate a subject line for this review it would have to be "don't spit in the face of your customer".

However, I can't recommend based on the overall experience. The workmanship was average, and more concerning, the final bill came in roughly 40% higher than originally quoted on what was a straightforward job with only a minor modification. There was also confusion around the original quote. I had specifically requested a GFCI outlet, but when he arrived, he indicated the quote only covered a GFCI and not the outlet itself, attributing the discrepancy to how it was entered through Yelp. Regardless of the source, that added to the overall lack of clarity on pricing. For context, the initial quote was already higher than other licensed electricians I had considered. In short: the job got done, but the combination of pricing inconsistency, unclear scope, and average workmanship makes it hard to recommend.

He seems like a nice enough guy speaking to him in person and to be honest I was excited to give him my business (as opposed to a big company) but he has completely wasted 3 months of my home project totally unnecessarily. He took it upon himself to make an issue out of it--and then actually reported me to the city. Who does that? His behavior was so shocking and unprofessional that I've warned friends and neighbors. Note to other contractors- if you are bidding a job at someone's house and then turn them into the city for other issues that have nothing to do with your job, don't expect to get the job or any referrals.
