I made one highly-anticipated visit to OC Succulents. Not only did this marvelous greenhouse live up to my expectations - it exceeded them. For someone who grew up around greenhouses, OC Succulents brings back fond memories of the best of them. The dirt parking lot - which I find rather charming - offers only a tease of the extensive selection of plants, pots and substrates they carry inside. I could have easily spent the whole day admiring the variety of succulents, phalaenopsis and indoor plants, all of which were healthy and beautiful. The maintenance of quality, at the volume they are producing, is nothing short of impressive. If the variety and quality of plants for which OC Succulents is named is not a sufficient draw, the service surely is. Teresa is an absolute delight, and a saint for putting up with my pain-in-the-butt shopping style. Her expertise, attention to detail and patience alone are worth paying this place a visit. She spent a very generous amount of time with me on a relatively small project, and assured I left with an arrangement that would satisfy both myself and my significant other. After a very pleasant hour-long visit to OC Succulents, I can promise there will be very many more to come. read more

Located with the same place as California greenhouses but outside, this place is a nice place to get some cactus and succulents. Parking is outside on a dirt road so if the wind picks up remember to cover up. I feel like their products go in and out because of shipments so go early and get what you want because it might change the next time you go. Nice place to go visit if you like plants. read more

OC Succulents described in 3 words: helpful, inexpensive, and clean. For someone who didn't know too much about succulents or plants in general, OC Succulents was great! The employees were super helpful and made me feel very welcome. There's a wide variety of plants, and an even wider variety of succulents. I came here to purchase a terrarium-like succulent display in a glass container for Valentines Day, and I left with a product greater than I imagined. There is a huge variety of succulents to buy individually (the prices are based on how big the succulent is 2 in, 4 in, 6 in etc). I did find the specific product I was looking for but it was $25?!?! I decided to make my own terrarium from scratch by picking out a glass bowl I liked, and 3 succulents. I did not expect them to help me put it together for me but they did! The employee was very patient and helped my friend and I put together the terrarium for about half an hour. in addition, they supplied soil, moss, colored glass, sand, rocks, and many other decorations to add to the terrarium. In TOTAL I spent $19 ($2 material use fee), and saved money while creating a gift I felt proud of. Um wow. First off I came here for the first time today with the intentions of getting the free succulent and maybe another. I left with maybe 6 total and a moss covered basket. Cost around $23 with tax. The smaller 2" succulents were a little less than $2, the larger 4" ones were a little less than $4. The basket was around $12, I believe. I ended up getting one of the larger ones for free thanks to the Free Succulent Saturday promotion. They have a huge variety. It was absolutely amazing. They also have different types of pots, baskets, wooden holders, and stones. Even thought they were busy, the staff still helped out a lot, answering questions, guiding drivers to parking spots, and just being awesome in general. I'd like to go back soonish, but unfortunately I've been put on a hold from purchasing any additional plants. read more

Wow. What an awesome selection of succulents. I loved them all so how am I to buy them all with out freaking out my Dear Husband? Solution: buy the 1 inch container of succulents for $1.45. So, I bought 16 1" succulents of every variety I didn't have. I also got 4" ones for $2.95 and 1 6" campfire succulent for $6.95. Honestly I didn't think I would leave with so many varieties for about $45. I told my DH its a bargain and the little plants will grow and multiply in no time. The nursery attendants we very friendly and helpful. I they confirmed that with a little care the succulents they will thrive. The sales person piped in that they would thrive even with no care. LOL. All in all... It was great visiting OC succulents, it made my trip worth while coming all the way from Ventura County. read more

This is succulent heaven. So, the people who know me may know that I'm a killer of plants :( I can't garden or keep normal plants alive so one day I thought, why not get in on the succulent trend? They only need to be watered once a week and even I can manage to remember that! Fast forward to us bringing our 9 month old to make our own planter. The green house is huge and has every succulent you can think of. I know nothing about these plants, but it's simple to pick out a planter, as many plants as you'd like, rocks and such and put it together. We made a pretty big planter and it totaled to about $80, but hey, it was a fun experience and I've had it for a couple weeks now and it's only growing...not dying, so win/win! :) -I knocked off one star for service, it wasn't busy at all and it took them 15 minutes to help us :/ read more

They have any excellent selection if indoor houseplants in the greenhouse!! It's a little overwhelming at first, and a lot of plants/shelves don't have labels for prices or names of the plants, but if you know what you're looking for you'll probably find it here! I had been searching for a neon pothos for so long and managed to find a huge one in a 6" hanging planters with giant leaves for $20! And also got a small philo brasil for $6. They don't have a guarantee or longer term return policy like big box stores do, but their plants are healthy and they offer a great variety to choose from. I could probably spend hundreds of dollars here in one day if my apartment had more space for plants. Will be coming back for more! read more

If you are looking for cacti, this is your place! This seriously is an amazing nursery. I never knew an all exclusive succulent nursery would exist! The prices can get steep pretty quick - especially if you are looking for bigger plants. (Think 2' tall cacti, or single plants that go in larger pots). I was super impressed with the selection - they have everything from mini succulents that are a couple dollars each, to 7' tall cacti that would require serious equipment to install - overall, neat place! It's well maintained and easy to walk around. I'm not an expert but there seems to be quite an extensive selection. I was stoked on finding some nice ones. I love that they have a complimentary potting station oh yeahhhhh. That really sold it to me. You bet I decked out my pieces. So awesome!! This place was super awesome. The staff there was nice and knowledgable. I brought in my sad and dried up turtle planter that I got 2yrs ago. Lisa helped teach me how to re-poke holes to replant new succulents onto the turtle. And pack in the dirt and moss. So we did that right at a work station and an hour fixing my turtle. If you love plants, California Greenhouses & OC Succulents is a place that will amaze you. They have a very wide variety of succulents in many sizes, starting as small as 2" pots. They also have bromeliads, dracaenas, ferns, and much more. They have all the supplies you might need for having your plants indoors, including a wonderful selection of beautiful pots. I was so pleased that I could find the pebbles, moss, etc. all in one location. These are beautiful greenhouses to walk through. The plants and the property is so well maintained. These guys ALWAYS have the best, quality plants and planters! I'm so addicted to coming here that I get kind of upset that they close so early and on Sundays, but I understand that they seem to cater to wholesale/business buyers. I'll be honest, they're not always the cheapest if you think that a wholesale/catering to businesses place is supposed to be cheap; but the problem with the others is just that... It's cheap aka messed up, dying plants. OC succulents have well kept, beautiful, long living, healthy plants that start you off right. Instead of trying to nurse your newly purchased plant back to health, you're actually watching the ones you buy here grow bigger! Also, the guys/girls here are suuuuuper helpful. They will go around, even across the whole nursery, just to ask if you need help. They'll take you in a golf cart if the item is far across the way; and carry those huge, prickly cacti and succulents for you. They know their stuff too so ask them about how to care for your plants. We bought a decent sized Euphorbia Acurensis succulent, replanted it, and it's still thriving after a year! I recently was looking for a good sized Monstera Deliciosa, but could only find smaller sized ones that didn't have the split leaf yet (I couldn't even find the thing at other nurseries). One of the ladies asked if I wanted to give them my name and number so they can call me if they ever get one in, so I did (although I was a bit skeptical because I wrote it on a piece of scrap paper, and figured they were just being nice). I get a call about TWO WEEKS later (fast) from Lisa saying they got one in for me and to come on by if I'm still interested. Again, being skeptical, I figured it was some scrawny one that they'll say it grows fast and it'll get those bigger leaves later. But no! This was a beautiful one that was very full and already had a few leaves that were split. Now, I wish they were the HUGE-huge ones in pictures online, but the plant is already hard to find and I'm sure it'll be pricey for the huge ones. So they're super helpful with finding the plants you are looking for AND they make sure to find the best they have for you. Great place, and one of the ones I'm reluctant to leave positive reviews for. I don't want it to get packed to where I always have to place a special order because everyone buys up the place. I really enjoyed O.C. Succulents. Located over by the district in Tustin, this place is a hidden gem. Amazing selection on plants. Prices were a little more than i am used to for a wholesaler but the succulents were well worth the price! It can be kind of hard as to figure out the pricing, some plants have signage, some do not. There are some plants outdoors as well as a huge indoor/outdoor greenhouse. They have so many nice little succulents around $2.40 a pop. Staff was friendly. Yay succulents! Finally got to come by and buy some plants for our planters. It's a little more difficult for me to go since they're not open on Sunday's. The place is so big and there's so many different types of succulents and other plants! Pricing is great and reasonable and they also sell pots and rocks and stuff. We came in the afternoon close to closing time and there were still a lot of different mini succulents. I just wish they sold rocks in smaller packaging. Had to buy like 2 different bags of rocks just to get different colors.... And those rocks could fill about 20 of our planters. :/ There were also really cool ones that only sold in huge bags. I came here this past weekend to browse their selection of indoor plants. I ended up purchasing a 4" medallion calathea for only $10. I was super excited to bring it home. After I brought it home and placed it in a cute planter by my other plants, I soon realized that there were spider mites in the soil and on its leaves. So if you plan on purchasing from oc succulents, I would definitely recommend taking the plant into the sunlight to see if there are any spider mites or other pests that will harm your plant. read more

Thanks to a few photos on the YelpOC Instagram page, I bookmarked this place for some shopping. The man and I stopped by on a Saturday morning, and it was a bit busy. They have carts and wagons to haul around your plants and containers. Very helpful! So many different succulents to choose from, and a bunch of employees were out walking around the grounds to see if anyone needed help. We found a few things, but ended up getting a gorgeous aloe nobilis plant. They had an area of discounted pots and I found a beautiful cobalt blue pot...exactly what I was looking for. $20! Definitely check that area out. As for the prices, I'm not sure if they were any more or any less than other places. Some of the succulents were $100+, while others were $10. I came here the Saturday before Mother's day to make my mom a gift. I had no idea expect or what I was doing but the moment I parked, I knew I was in succulent heaven. This place is great! A huge variety and selection of pots and even better, of succulents ranging from small to big! I think the best part is planting your succulents yourself and they have all the colored rocks, moss, and tools for you to create your own terrarium! You can even ask for help and they'll plant it for you but honestly you can't go wrong if you do it yourself and it's fun getting your hands dirty. I do not know how I haven't been to this place before! Great selection of house plants, succulents, and cacti. They have wagons and such so you can cart around plants and pots. Was moderately busy for a Monday afternoon when I went. Mostly everyone was wearing a mask with a few random customers that had them on their neck only. Prices are fair for both plants and pots no super cheap crazy awesome deals but they're not gouging you either. Staff was attentive and generally friendly. read more

I visit often for my tropical and succulent plant needs. The business itself is great and usually is well stocked. They also have great inventory, I enjoy visiting. Most of the employees typically the gentlemen unloading are super friendly and helpful. (.+4 stars) On the other hand the cashiers seem to be very unfriendly and unwelcoming. (-1 star) Not sure why, I'd love to work with plants. Even asking them a question about a plant they seem to be so unenthusiastic. Hopefully that changes. read more

I love this spot. It's got such an amazing variety of indoor plants and succulents! The staff is helpful but it's quite easy to walk around and find what you're looking for. I was able to find the zebra plant and the devil's tongue plant I was looking for! There's also lots of pots but those are sooooo expensive. Succulents!!! I received one for free and it started a chain reaction.. I've fallen down the succulent rabbit hole. I came to OC Succulents because, obviously, I was in need of succulents! I brought a small glass terrarium that I got with me so I could measure plants inside of it. Good thing I did too, because the 4" plants would not have fit in it lol! I'm a first-time succulent mom so I ended up asking Teresa, an employee, about what plants would look good in my terrarium, which ones would keep their shape, how to pot them, etc. She was super helpful and gave me lots of tips. There are lots more than just succulents too. There were some tree-type plants, orchids, and other various plants. I spent all my time deciding on succulents though, so I didn't explore the rest of the nursery. They even have a free potting station where there are different types of rocks, soil, broken glass, moss, and more to fill your vases and decorative pieces. I didn't know how to pot my plant, but Teresa was able to help me out. One 2" succulent is $1.95, and with tax comes out to be about $2.10. I'll definitely be back for more of my succulent needs!! read more
