I love the large variety and supply of plants that they have here! My friend and I came here to look for some houseplants. I was looking for a houseplant as a housewarming gift and ended up going with a baby monstera plant. I also ended up getting a rubber plant for myself as well. Their plants are priced reasonably for the quality of the plants and the amount of attention and care that they give for their plants. In general, I hear that it is important to go to a reputable nursery for good quality plants, and OC Succulents is among the top nurseries in OC. They also have a nice selection of pots; however, they can be quite expensive. They have a little potting bench in the nursery, and I believe they can do complimentary potting for your plants if you would like someone to help you with potting/re-potting plants. The service was great too and the workers were kind enough to help me look for a plastic 11" container for one of my monstera plants that was getting to large for it's 8" pot. The one thing was that the cashier accidentally rang me up for the wrong pot. The unfortunate thing was that I needed to use that pot as a gift and couldn't bring it back to the nursery as proof. However, when I took a picture of the receipt and the pot, they were able to give me a refund on the difference - no problem. On July 9, OC Succulents advertised they were giving away one free 4" succulent, providing they go to a good home. It was about 2:00 and I thought, sure why not? I mean, how many people can this event have for a plant giveaway? Apparently, most of Orange County must have read the same giveaway, and they were all there getting a free succulent plant. We were coming from the Tustin Costco, driving up Warner Avenue and noticed a line of cars on the right. We drove past it, thinking it was some concert or city event, not thinking it was the SAME one I wanted to attend. The line was to get into the parking lot! Fortunately when I drove past the first line, there was a 2nd parking lot. It was a huge, empty dirt lot and people tried to create an organized parking situation out of the chaos. Overall it was orderly, but still chaotic. We "created" our own spot near the edge of the lot, walked across the street to the nursery, passing by people happily carrying their 4" potted plant. When we walked in, there was pure chaos! No signs, no employee telling you where to go. No queue.. nothing! We asked this young lady carrying her pot where to go for ours. There was a long ass line to the left of the building, but she claims it was for those who wish to buy more plants. Go to "the right" of the building and there's a bunch of trays with plants. Grab one that's 4" and leave. She didn't mention anything about checking out, or getting our hands stamped or anything to identify we got our freebie. Apparently some unscrupulous people were taking more than their fair share, as the exit doors to the back were not really being monitored. We got 2 potted plants, and left. The whole process took about 15 minutes, once we figured out where to go. Overall I don't think I'll try this again next year. It was generous of OC Succulents to do this. They tried their best to create an organized parking situation, but it was just too chaotic. Perhaps dangling signs above to where to get the free stuff, where to pay, and maybe even roping off an area with a queue so people would be "given" one free plant would make this more organized, and less "stealing" of the freebie plants. read more

I've never owned a plant before, and they were really helpful in telling me about how to take care of succulents. Once you buy the plants/pots, they have a potting station where you can pot your plants and decorate it for free. Teresa, one of the workers, showed me how to pot my first plants! They have small rocks and moss there (all free!) to decorate to your heart's desire. I got three 4in succulents and two 2in succulents. It was so fun! They have a wide array of trees, plants, succulents, pots etc. in multiple styles, sizes and colors. You will definitely find something you like whether it be for your work desk, room, or event a gift. All plants come in singles but there are also arranged assortments of succulents and other plants that they have made if you are overwhelmed with or have trouble choosing what goes together. I ended up getting a housewarming present for one of my friends that I was able to customize with various complimentary pebbles after I purchased it along with a cute wooden pot I found there. This is our go to place for all things succulent. We take our pot that we bought from Restoration Hardware into the location and they supply the dirt the rocks the moss and even glass if that's your luck in all you purchase is the actual succulents themselves. They have a workstation off to the side that allows you to put it all together so you come home with the finished product. More often than not you might want to find yourself adding to the color assortment to get it to work the way you want. They've always been friendly and helpful I will even carry your stuff out to your car and load it if that's what you desire. The cards come in very handy for moving around but there's not much room in the isles. Their assortment of different items is staggering but don't go in on Sunday because they're closed. read more

Wow! I'm surprised I haven't written a review for this place! My husband and I love to frequent this location, but since we have limited outdoor space we do not get to fully enjoy the variety of plants they have to offer. When my parents house needed some front landscaping done, we decided to come here. This place is fabulous. My father bought some succulents from a wholesaler and we bought a bunch from here. The difference in quality is very visible. When you pull these plants out the ones from OC Succulents are in nice nutritious dirt, the roots are well established and the stalks are nice and big. Whereas the other place the dirt was dry and it was just a collection of clippings. Both my husband and I have had wonderful interactions with the employees working here. We went at opening today and it was reiterated to the employees to ask the customers if they need help. They did so and were all very genuine. I believe Terresa helped my husband while he was building his custom orchid arrangement. I've never had an unpleasant time here. I'd highly recommend this nursery! read more

I wanted to get some succulents and they offer a wide variety of succulents, from little, small ones to really big, elaborate ones. I got a medium sized pot and medium sized succulent and I've had it since November 2016. It has grown so much and the staff there is informative and nice and told me exactly what I needed to do to take care of my succulent. Succulents aren't that much high maintenance anyways so they gave me tips on not overwatering it and making sure it has adequate sunlight. I bought a succulent the other day for my brother and he loved it. It was a small one and it was really cheap! I paid under $3 for a succulent and a pot so it's inexpensive. Plenty of parking available in a gravel / dirt lot. It took me a while to make it out here because they are closed Sundays and for some reason I wouldn't remember i wanted to visit during the weekend until it was already Sunday. I came for succulents but their plant selection really surprised me. They had a huge selection and some tropical plants that I had just bought from ikea but these looked much healthier. I picked up a dozen small succulents, some rocks, and a sensitive plant aka tickle me plant. I was planning to order a tickle me plant from an online shop so I was ecstatic to find them by the register. This was not an impulse buy as I have been planning to get this for a while. Unfortunately the plant died in 4 days. Very strange that it died so quickly perhaps it was already on its way out. Some of the succulents have died as well. There was a nice area to repot your succulents and they do provide complementary decorations and soil add ons. I didn't utilize the service but it's very cool that they provide this. I think I will be back for house plants next time but will definitely examine them more closely. read more

Super cool succulent warehouse tucked in between the border of Irvine and Tustin! I accidentally drove past the entrance twice before finally realizing there is one dirt path driveway for entering and exiting. There's no shortage of succulents here, and they carry everything from small desktop sized plants to large backyard plants. I personally came for one small table top plant and was kindly helped by one of the staff members, who helped me find the pot I had envisioned. He then gave me advice on which size plant to use, and guided me towards a DIY station in the corner. If you purchase the plant + pot there, they allow you to use dirt, moss and pebbles to help fill your pot! Made my day. Had an amazing experience with Vince, who I believe is a manager there. Either way, he took this succulent newbie and took the time to educate me and help me find something for my office. He listened to my story about how I've killed almost every plant I've owned, and assured me that succulents are super resilient, which put my plant killing guilt at rest. If you need your questions answered I highly recommend grabbing someone, especially Vince, for some extremely knowledgeable and friendly help. I do agree with another reviewer that employees won't go out of their way to ask if you are ok or need help, but IMHO if you do ask they are more than willing to help. PROS: Huge selection of amazing and awesome plants:succulent Knowledgeable staff Friendly service Though I'm new at this , prices seem reasonable from what I've seen online plus selection is hard to beat CONS: I've driven by here for years and never realized anything was there-in other words, a bit hard to find (may be good to put a large sign or something ) Employees, though friendly, were generally in a rush - not sure if I caught them during restocking or a busy time- nothing bad here but if you need help make sure to track someone down and ask for it. This nursery is tucked away in a little neighborhood and if you didn't know it was there you'd miss it. Yesterday was my first visit but I'm already thinking of when I'm going to return. I'm not the best green thumb gardener so I needed a lot of help. I had many questions and spoke with four different staff members. Not one seemed to mind my interruptions to their tasks and each was helpful and informative. When I asked the cashier about transplanting my chosen cacti and succulents, she introduced me to the potting table, which not only had soil, but all sorts of moss, colored sand, stones, etc., - free of charge. The selection at the plant equivalent of Costco is mind-boggling. The prices are decent and the customer service is solid. I have spent more than four figures here over the last two years and if you DIY your arrangements, it makes sense to buy your raw materials here. If you want them to do the arranging for you on the spot, it's convenient, but you're paying a steep premium of 1.5x the amount for their labor. I found out the hard way when I bought a housewarming gift for a friend a couple years ago. I also bought a $350 fiddle leaf fig that is fighting for its life a year later. I returned to ask them for advice as the online forums have all contradicted one another and the man seemed nonchalant and gave me the same paper I got when I first purchased it. I don't think they really get to know their individual retail customers as they also sell to the trade. I have since befriended a grower in Riverside who is cheaper, has more exotic succulents, plus goes out of his way to meet me regularly at the Irvine regional farmers market on Tuesdays and genuinely cares how his plants are doing once they leave his hands. I made one highly-anticipated visit to OC Succulents. Not only did this marvelous greenhouse live up to my expectations - it exceeded them. For someone who grew up around greenhouses, OC Succulents brings back fond memories of the best of them. The dirt parking lot - which I find rather charming - offers only a tease of the extensive selection of plants, pots and substrates they carry inside. I could have easily spent the whole day admiring the variety of succulents, phalaenopsis and indoor plants, all of which were healthy and beautiful. The maintenance of quality, at the volume they are producing, is nothing short of impressive. If the variety and quality of plants for which OC Succulents is named is not a sufficient draw, the service surely is. Teresa is an absolute delight, and a saint for putting up with my pain-in-the-butt shopping style. Her expertise, attention to detail and patience alone are worth paying this place a visit. She spent a very generous amount of time with me on a relatively small project, and assured I left with an arrangement that would satisfy both myself and my significant other. After a very pleasant hour-long visit to OC Succulents, I can promise there will be very many more to come. read more

Parking is outside on a dirt road so if the wind picks up remember to cover up.
