Well this place was a pleasant surprise! We happened to be nearby doing some home shopping at The District. We have been progressively keeping our eye out for the "right" indoor houseplant (and for our patio) and I noticed this nursery was less than a mile from where we were, so we decided to check it out! Since it's in their name, it's obvious they have a large selection of succulents, but I was surprised to find many other plants as well. They have fiddle leaf figs, corn plants (dracaenas), snake plants, various indoor palms, rubber trees, amongst many more. They also have a large array of pottery; more colorful and artisanal looking ones featured outside and many modern, clean and simple pottery by Peach & Pebble that was inside. We ended up purchasing a gorgeous vibrant gold pot, but they were slim on their stand selection so I purchased it through Peach & Pebble directly online later. One thing that was absolutely amazing and a time saver was if you buy a plant and a pot, you can transfer the plant into your pot at their complimentary potting station! They have some soil you can top off your plant with once it's transferred and everything. They also wrapped our other plant so when it lays on its side, soil doesn't get all over your car. What an amazing find. I'm a huge succulent fan and when I moved a month ago I had to leave my succulent garden behind so now I'm in the process of looking for new plants. OC Succulents has the largest selection of succulents I have ever seen. They have a large greenhouse and yard with plants of all sizes. I bought a 8' succulent that I hung on a Shepard's hook and then I also bought a beautiful Mexican pot so that I could repot another succulent plant that has been thriving and needs a little more space. I will be back, but for now I'll be on Pinterest planning my next outdoor home project. read more

Love love love! The greenhouse was phenomenal and very open space-wise. I loved the assortment of houseplants that they had here as it has been difficult to find at other nurseries. The place was packed pretty organized and boy, there sure were a lot of plants. Was impressed by the selection and each time I passed by a table, there was always goodies I wanted to grab! The plants were well cared for as well. Since the space was so big, it was easy to remain socially distanced from other patrons. 3 Day Socal Passes are free here at this Disneyland for succulents. Heck, you can come every day for free if you want! OC Succulents has an expansive selection of well-raised succulents for your choosing. They do not have as many pre-made large arrangements as other places, but you are free to bring or buy a pot or wreath and pot your succulents there after purchase. The potting station is free and they have extra dirt and their employees can help you with the arranging and potting. Their succulents are in great condition (unlike what you'd find at Lowe's or Walmart) and they have a huge selection. They have plenty of other plants for your garden or house as well as driftwood for your yard. Prices are almost double compared to buying succulents at the Downtown LA Flower Market but I do feel the succulents here have more color to them. For example, a 4" succulent is $2 in LA but $4 here. Of course, time is money and most of the time I'm too lazy to drive to LA for a few plants. But if I was stocking up for a whole yard and going to spend a few hundred dollars, I would probably suck it up and go to LA. My first time here I had the problem that you might also encounter... They are all so fun and gorgeous! Which plants do I pick? Can I just buy two more, please? Tough choices, but any selection is a good one. You really can't lose here. read more

Wow, this place is huge! I was really impressed when I walked in and saw the variety of plants they had. It looks really cool and nice. A lot of their plants do not having pricing on them. The stocking workers couldn't tell me either so they had to ask the cashiers up front. Kind of inconvenient when you want to watch your spending. I ended up purchasing a few plants, two of them being snake plants. It's been a couple weeks and I've noticed one snake has a few leaves veering off to the side. Those leaves are also starting to look a little discolored compared to the rest. I thought snake plants were supposed to be easy to care for?! The soil is still moist and I haven't watered it since I bought it so I'm not too sure what's going. All the other plants I got are doing well though. Maybe just a bad batch. Parking: dirt/gravel lot. Customer service: nice and friendly. The cashier gave my friend a cutting of a plant that they were going to toss. Another nice thing is they have a section for you to repot if needed, with soil and rocks provided. read more

I'm so upset with the plant I recently bought from OC Succulents. After 2 weeks it's lost a majority of it's leaves already! I purchased a wishlist plant - Spider's Web Fatsia Japonica and it's already turning brown. I've watered it 2-3 times in the 2 weeks I've had it and gave it indirect light to partial shade. Because it's a variegated species, I can't give it too much light or else the leaves tend to burn. I've done my research on this plant and can't seem to figure out what is wrong with it. Now I'm stuck with trying to revive this beauty. UPDATE: It was a Spider mite infestation. It hurts me to say this because this is one of my wishlist plants too! Usually all of the plants I have purchased from here have been solid, but unfortunately this just wasn't it. Business owner reached out to me and wanted to help me out! This was my first visit to OC Succulents and I will be back. I am for a yelp event but I know that I will be coming back in the future. I do a lot of event planning for work and social and I'm often the one stuck making the center pieces, now I will be coming here!! They have a great selection of plants for the home and the yard. They have a large outdoor selection and then a large greenhouse full of house plants and succulents. OC Succulents is family owned and operated which makes it really cool and relaxed feeling. Chris, is one of the sons, was there for our yelp tour. He walked us around the greenhouse and talked about where they get the plants, how to care for certain types of plants, and how to pick the right plants for your care and environment. Then the fun part... You can build your own succulents and they will help if you need it!!! You pick out your plants, pots, and any topper and then pay. They have a cute little station then that you can use to create your masterpiece!! Thanks Chris helping me with mine The only downside is that you might drive right by this little gem and not know that it's here or what the my offer. From Warner Ave it looks like your typical nursery/greenhouse but not for customers. Waze directions also took me to the entrance at the back, and Warner is a one-way, so had to go do a couple U turns before I could get there. Parking is also a little tight as there is no "clear parking lot" it can get a little free for all. I had to park in the back and I'm sure it was a tight squeeze for others to get around me and not run over plants. Overall. Great little place and I'm book marking for a future trip!! read more

PLANT HEAVEN! I dropped by during my lunch hour to pick out a plant for my office. The indoor plants are all in the large warehouse. I was surprised to see how many plants there were! I walked around to see the entire selection before ultimately deciding on a Split Leaf Philodendron. I spent quite some time browsing the planters too. They didn't have the stand I wanted but offered to special order it for me at no extra cost (so nice!). I come here often to pick up succulents, the last time I was here I picked up a fig leaf tree, about two weeks later I started to notice brown spots on the leaves, I brought it back to the nursery and the manager offered to keep it overnight so he could maybe help recover it. I had already bonded with the tree so I was anxious to see the result. The next day I came back in and the results were spectacular, my tree is alive and full of life! OC Succulents has quickly become my most treasured destination for healthy, gorgeous plants. I was taken to several nurseries nearby and all have paled in comparison. Within the first week of my visit, I found myself racking up an entire collection of lush Satin Pothos, Marbled Snow Queen Pothos, Calathea Makoyanas, Brazilian philodendrons, Monsteras, etc. I'm addicted. What a wonderful selection they have that appears to change daily, it's a part of the hunt and excitement of making stops here. The selection of plants are numerous and well maintained, it's a cathartic release strolling around seeing the charming array. I haven't utilized their free repotting station, but it's delightful that they'd offer something like that to their customers! Hours are standard for a nursery, but closed on Sundays. OK, now let's talk about customer service. Their staff is attentive and friendly, the ones I've encountered are truly wonderful people. Willy is exceedingly sweet and approachable with an easy air to him. He goes out of his way to make sure you're getting the utmost product service. He's receptive and accommodating to his customers. This guy is hard to miss, he's super tall, look for him, he'll take care of you! Lisa is also a gem, she's the most considerate person at this nursery upon my encounter. She understands plant lovers and is saintly patient with time and questions. An easy person to talk to, I'm glad I bumped into her. Vianey is also someone who I encountered quite a few times. This man is a workhorse and is constantly on the go, but will stop to answer your questions with a smile, no matter what he's in the middle of. A+ staff. You'll want to make the stop here. Probably the largest and most varied selection of pots for your plants in the area. Prices are the same as most nurseries but you have FAR more to choose from. Plus they have discount sections which is where we picked up a few pieces including a beautiful marble planter. OC Succulents doesn't suck. I drive a bit too fast & I missed the entrance initially. It also seems easy to miss. I am so glad I found this place! Pulling in, as someone with no talent for gardening, no ability to keep a plant alive and no eye for design I was intimidated by the selection. That feeling quickly disappeared when I was referred to Lupe. I brought a planter and had a picture of what I wanted and he took the image and made it better in my opinion. The entire time he was so pleasant and patient, pricing options and information. Once we selected succulents he priced it out for me and then planted and arranged it for me. I will be back for more items and would love to work with Lupe agan. He takes a lot of pride in his work and he has such a nice eye for colors. I bought two plants from here. The Chinese money plant I received from here is doing well. It has a long established stalk so that means it's not as weak as a little pilea starting out. The price is pretty high at 32 bucks after tax... Piep co in riverside has it much cheaper with multiple pileas but not as long as a stalk. The reason for the low review is the pothos I got from here. The price was amazing, 9 bucks for a longggg bushy pothos. A hanging one. It's been a few weeks and the leaves have fallen off and yellowed and browned to like 25 percent of what it originally was. The soil was dry as bones so I watered it. The leaves on the plant are paper thin, like they have been put through a green house but when in a normal setting they cannot survive. It's beautiful yes but not realistic. read more

I've gone to this place a couple times before the pandemic hit and again just a couple of weeks ago. This place has a large variety of succulents, whether big or small! I always find it impossible to go here and come home with just one succulent. I personally love the fact that they have a complimentary where you can repot your succulents or decorate them as you please. If I already had a pot at home, I'd typically bring my own to repot my purchased succulents then and there. My old and new succulents from this nursery have been prospering well! If you plan on utilizing the complimentary table, I would recommend bringing your own gloves, as they do not have any sinks to wash your hands afterwards (to my knowledge). The only thing I will say about my visit a couple weeks ago is that the cashier helping me kept constantly touching their mask, bringing it up and down below their mouth while handling my transaction. Though there is a safety glass separating customers from the clerks, it still made me feel a little uncomfortable considering how they had to handle my succulents. Other than that, I love the customer service and the plethora of succulents! This has remained my go-to place for succulents for a while now, and I'm sure it'll continue to stay that way for quite some time. read more

This nursery had a good selection of cacti and succulents for your yard. Even cute, little ones for indoors. There was a good section of pottery, plant pots, and ceramics. The houseplant tree section was good, but the normal, indoor houseplant section wasn't that impressive. Maybe I went on a day before they restocked. There were many little indoor palms, orchids, and bromeliads. I found a few types of pothos and they were pretty expensive, 6" pot $20-$25. I'm more used to LA County prices I guess. read more

On July 9, OC Succulents advertised they were giving away one free 4" succulent, providing they go to a good home. It was about 2:00 and I thought, sure why not? I mean, how many people can this event have for a plant giveaway? Apparently, most of Orange County must have read the same giveaway, and they were all there getting a free succulent plant. We were coming from the Tustin Costco, driving up Warner Avenue and noticed a line of cars on the right. We drove past it, thinking it was some concert or city event, not thinking it was the SAME one I wanted to attend. The line was to get into the parking lot! Fortunately when I drove past the first line, there was a 2nd parking lot. It was a huge, empty dirt lot and people tried to create an organized parking situation out of the chaos. Overall it was orderly, but still chaotic. We "created" our own spot near the edge of the lot, walked across the street to the nursery, passing by people happily carrying their 4" potted plant. When we walked in, there was pure chaos! No signs, no employee telling you where to go. No queue.. nothing! We asked this young lady carrying her pot where to go for ours. There was a long ass line to the left of the building, but she claims it was for those who wish to buy more plants. Go to "the right" of the building and there's a bunch of trays with plants. Grab one that's 4" and leave. She didn't mention anything about checking out, or getting our hands stamped or anything to identify we got our freebie. Apparently some unscrupulous people were taking more than their fair share, as the exit doors to the back were not really being monitored. We got 2 potted plants, and left. The whole process took about 15 minutes, once we figured out where to go. Overall I don't think I'll try this again next year. It was generous of OC Succulents to do this. They tried their best to create an organized parking situation, but it was just too chaotic. Perhaps dangling signs above to where to get the free stuff, where to pay, and maybe even roping off an area with a queue so people would be "given" one free plant would make this more organized, and less "stealing" of the freebie plants. read more

I've been going to this place for a while because I heard about it from a friend a while back. But I think I'm gonna stop coming here. I'm not a veteran plant caretaker , so I always welcome and seek advice and insight from the employees for care. But I feel like every time I've been here lately, there's this one person working who does not seem interested in working or being there, and I consistently had to ask questions to get whatever information I needed about the plant or supplies I was getting. I thought it was a one-off or maybe the person was having a bad day at first, but it kept happening when this person specifically would be working when I went. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth to the point where I don't feel comfortable coming here anymore and don't feel welcomed like I used to when I first started coming in 2017ish. It's a great place to be, probably if you're an avid gardener. There's a lot of variety for your local shop, but unfortunately I just kept having bad experiences coming here recently. read more
