I have been a patient at Fasttrack Ped for many years as this has been the pediatric office for my…read moredaughter and until today I have always trusted and valued the care provided here. Unfortunately, my experience today was very disappointing. During my daughter's appointment, I was denied access to the consultation room because I was accompanied by my service dog. As a result, I was not allowed to enter the exam room with my daughter for her physical appointment. My service dog is fully licensed, has accompanied me to medical appointments before without issue, and was completely under control at all times. He was placed inside his stroller, did not touch the floor, and did not come into contact with any physical facilities or medical equipment. Despite this, the staff refused to allow us access. As a long-time patient, I believe it is important for staff to be properly informed and trained regarding service animal rights, especially in a medical setting where inclusion, understanding, and patient support are essential. I sincerely hope this situation is reviewed so that no other parent or patient has to experience something similar in the future.Legal Rights of Service Dogs (ADA) Service dogs are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal civil rights law. Where service dogs are allowed A service dog is permitted to accompany its handler in all public places, including: * Medical and pediatric offices * Hospitals and clinics * Exam rooms and waiting areas * Schools and government buildings * Restaurants, stores, and businesses open to the public Medical facilities may not deny access, except in strictly sterile areas (such as operating rooms). What staff are NOT allowed to require Businesses or medical facilities may NOT: * Ask for certification, registration, or licenses for the dog * Require the dog to wear a vest or ID * Charge additional fees * Deny access due to internal policies, allergies, or fear of dogs The only two legal questions staff may ask Staff may ask only: 1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? They may not ask about: * The person's disability * Medical diagnoses * Proof or demonstrations of the dog's work When a service dog can be asked to leave Only if: * The dog is not under control * The dog poses a direct threat or shows aggressive behavior * The area is medically sterile and the dog's presence would compromise safety The dog's size, breed, or being in a stroller is NOT a valid reason to deny access.

I don't like calling just because of the front desk picking up. Everything is an extra fee. Go for the annual checkup and need a medical for school? Extra $10 on top of the co-pay just because. Need proof your child got a flu shot...$10. The nurses are just OK. I felt they could have been warmer towards my four year old daughter and have a little more patience when checking her hearing and vision the last time we were there for her annual check-up. Dr. Alvarado is nice but it seemed she was rushing a little. The office is clean and has two separate waiting rooms for well and sick children. I miss the pediatrician we had in Staten Island when we lived there.

The biggest factor in choosing this pediatrician was their availability. They are open Sunday's for emergencies and they have at least 3 Pediatricians available most times. The in and out time is decent and Dr. DeVito has been wonderful with my little girl. He clearly lays out the health and milestone plans for her and where she stands each time. We are happy so far and hope the good vibes continue as our little one gets older and needs care for colds, etc. They offer the most and are more well rounded than other Pediatricians in the area.
