We were told that Reston would reach out the week before the wedding, but we had heard absolutely nothing by noon the day before the wedding. My husband attempted to call Reston to confirm our reservation. We called more than 10 times, yet we couldn't get a hold of them. So he drove to their listed HQ from their website to confirm in person. When he arrived, he found out the HQ did NOT exist. He called again, and someone finally picked up the phone and gave him attitude for being restless. The woman promised to share the phone numbers for the drivers ASAP. We did not get them until late that night (and one of the numbers was incorrect). To make matters worse, three hours before we got married, we received multiple emails and phone calls demanding payment from Reston. This is despite the fact my husband sent in a credit card authorization form (which was acknowledged by the company months ago). So we're about to get married, and this company is shaking us down for payment which my husband authorized four months ago. To cap it all off, i could not get a hold of my limo driver. So my husband reached out to his point of contact, and she told him that drivers will not respond until an hour before reservation. That is fine; we just wish they had told us that before the day we were getting married. Everything worked out fine in the end, but AVOID this company at all costs. It is not worth the stress.

Fast forward two years later and I had an emergency and Baron came to the rescue. At 9:45pm I got a call from my main bus company saying that one of their coaches broke down and they wouldn't have a third bus for a trip we were host the next morning. The first person I called was Claudine because she had given me her cell number two years earlier. I told her our problems and within 40 minutes she had a bus and a driver locked in for my trip Needless to say, this doesn't normaly happen so I was very thankful. The station waiting area can be cold. Some people wait above, others below behind walls to protect themselves from the elements. The line used is the silver line to get into other various stations. The location of this station is good for the Dulles Airport. There is also a lot around this station, like restaurants, bars, businesses etc. There is some shopping nearby including a CVS. The station was very clean. The employees I came in contact with were so helpful to others. I ended up buying an all days pass for $13.50, and was charged a small fee for the card. I think I spent just under $16.

Once everyone in my family was fully vaccinated, we began to plan the long awaited reunion. Since I wasn't entirely sure of her schedule, I wasn't able to book until the day before we needed the driver so I was very happy that Culdesac was able to accommodate. From my initial phone inquiry until our drop off, every interaction with the business was professional. During my first phone call, I was able to book a driver for 5 hours to take us to a winery in Virginia. The winery is located over an hour away, so it was nice to be able to relax and not worry about driving. Everything was pretty seamless. Our driver (Rachid) was so professional and even arrived a few minutes early. He was a safe driver, kind and accommodating despite the non-stop storytelling and giggling between me, my sister and a childhood friend throughout the entire ride. Culdesac not only contacted me the same day, but they were the only ones who provided me with any form of communication, and I've yet to hear back from the other 2 companies. That alone catapulted Culdesac to 5 star status in my book! I had 11 people in my group and was suggested a 14 passenger Mercedes Sprint Van, picking up from IAD to downtown Washington for $275, which included tax and gratuity. I believe I spoke to Sammy, who was very helpful and friendly. Fast forward to February... The day before our trip, Sammy called me to reconfirm, and sent me our driver's name and number. A hiccup happened to our trip, and I sent Derek a text to come to the airport earlier than we agreed upon. Culdesac called to verify we needed an earlier pickup, Derek kept me in the loop of his transit time, and he came to the spot we told him we were at. Super professional! We decided to use Culdesac to take us back to the airport. Again the day before, I got a call and email reconfirming my pickup at 1:30 pm. We were told that Derek was going to take us back, but unfortunately a hiccup occured where his appointment was going to run over, so Derek texted me that someone else will pick us up, and not to worry. A few minutes after the text, Culdesac called me to say Derek was being replaced by Sam, and they texted me his number. Sam arrived at 1:15 in a 20 passenger van, just as nice as the Mercedes Sprinter, and even newer! It was also handicapped accessible, which was a good thing to remember if someone was disabled. He was just as courteous and got us to the airport safely and quickly. I honestly believe this company deserves 5 stars. They were professional, easy to get a hold of via email and phone, and communicated with me from start to finish. They charged my card after the service was completed, and the tip and tax was included in the fee. I would gladly use them again if I am back in the DC area.

The two metro stops are transfer points to other lines. Note that the pick up and drop off locations at L'Enfant are different. Depending on traffic, the trip can be from 30-60 minutes. Other than not having many stops, this bus is able to take Dulles Toll Road in the express lane. While this is an express bus to Dulles, it is essentially a commuter bus. This, there really isn't a place to put your luggage like the airport buses. If you intend to take the bus to catch a flight, plan accordingly. If major accidents/inclement weather occurs or its rush hour, the arrival time of the bus may vary. If there are people waiting, then the bus operators do their best to fit everyone on board. However, this can lead to people standing for the commute until the last stop. If you are pretty short and the bus is packed, aim to stand near the doors where the poles are or hold on to the headrests of the seats. Otherwise it's painful to hold on to the overhead bars for so long. The fare is $7.50 via SmartTrip card (can be bought at any metro station) or exact change. There is no metro operated vehicle parking at the two metro stations. The parking at Herndon-Monroe is currently free, but I imagine that will change once the silver line station there opens up. Then it will be $4.95. Dulles Airport has its own paid parking. Note that WMATA is considering ending Bus 5a when the silver line metro station at Dulles Airport opens. This is still a proposal and not yet decided upon as of February 2020.

Okay, other public transportation services give out full refunds so not ideal, but fine. When the credits were issued to me they stated that their policy was the credits DO NOT ever expire. I figured I'd use their services again in the future and kept tab of my credits. Fast forward to this week. I finally had a reason to take the bus again and went to use my credits. Surprise, surprise-- they were gone. I thought it must have been a mistake in my account and reached out to customer service, only to be told that their policy changed and that credits are only valid for 5 years after being issued. Despite the policy being different when I was given my credits, they refused to grandfather me in or give back any of my $100 worth of credits. Wouldn't even extend the expiration date to 5 years from when the policy changed. Would not budge or work with me at all despite me being a regular customer in the past. So basically I had $100 stolen from me. No services rendered, no refund given, and no credits to be seen. Not sure who was in charge of this terrible policy, but it definitely ensured that I will never ever be using OurBus again. I'd warn others about their scummy policy so they don't leave other customers high and dry.
