Nothing special, everything overcooked, nothing creative, not even in the specialty restaurants, no use of spices, really no surprises here and no changes in the menu during 18 days of stay. If you want to be entertained morning noon and night then this is the place for you. the staff are uber friendly and they lay on activities and shows 24/7. If you want a lazy holiday just chilling - it could be difficult as they do tend to bully you a little into joining in - its just their way!!! The other thing I found about the staff and the locals is that they absolutely adore kids . well if they don't and its all an act just for tourism then they ought to be on the big screen by rights. My son had a whale of a time, with a disco every night, they did conga style dances with the little ones all through the hotel, games and just generally madcap antics. Although the hotel was very international - lots of french, german, spanish as well as english- that just added to the appeal for me ( I also always think its a good sign if locals stay there.). Now then -food. It was the normal help yourself buffet style arrangement in a large room - but much more elegant and refined than the normal. The waiters did come to the table to check all was ok and would advise on wines and meal choices too - so it was kind of self -service - but with service (if that makes sense?). A really good choice of options including some good veggie ones too - and I was in heaven as there was loads of seafood to tempt. Location wise you could not beat it as there was a park, beach, harbour, shops and cafes all within easy walking distance. The rooms were real big and airy, with the decor clean and simple, with lots of locally made wooden furniture. 3 bars to choose from. Tennis courts and a gorgeous pool. Really good amenities in general. If you want to read and relax and enjoy your own company - not the hotel for you. If you want to have a busy time, be amused, be entertained and laugh alot with family then use this hotel.

Poolside activities, should you want to join in, and a well-appointed gym and fitness centre for those who want to keep fit. Oh, and did I mention it's adults-only?? Fab!

First off the Wi-Fi is slower than dial up and that's if you can get a signal. Not only that, it's all unsecured so anyone can grab your info with a basic scanner setup. Bartenders are great and very friendly. Jenni at the buffet is great. Some of the wait staff at the buffet is great, some not so good. Some of the front desk people are great too. But here are the things that kill this place. Housekeeping sucks. More than once I found dirty/stained sheets on my bed. The toilets were still dirty several times I came back from work. The maids would open my curtains and then remove the card and cutting off the room power. So I would come back from a hard days work to a ungodly hot room that took hours to cool down. The food is absolutely bland. Virtually no taste most of the time. For breakfast I would typically have a couple of glasses of orange juice and that's it. I'd stop on the way to work at Super Dino market and pick up something to eat. You know it's gotta be bad when someone passes on a free meal and would rather pay somewhere else. Never ate lunch at the hotel but heard from others it was just as bad. Dinner was hit or miss. Some nights they have fresh grill meat, that was good. But most everything else is bland and tasteless. I watched a cook drop a squeeze bottle of oil on the floor, pick it up, put it on the food prep surface and then prepare a burrito. Ewww. Also, they changed their dress code on my last night staying at the hotel. Did they email us? Nope. Did they put a flyer or notice in our room like they do before you check out? Nope. The only warning they gave was putting a note in the elevator. Well, I only took the elevator when I first arrived. I always take the stairs since I'm only on the second floor and the elevators take forever and make some really strange noises. I'd rather walk than get stuck thank you very much. On top of that, when I tried to have dinner wearing non-appropriate attire they forced me to enter from the side entrance like I was a second class guest. They can take my bosses money but treat me like dirt. The lady at the entrance claimed to be the manager and created a scene. It was my last night and it wouldn't have hurt anyone if I wore shorts. But apparently baseball hats, flip flops and shorts with holes in them is considered appropriate dress code. From the pics online, this place looked very nice, but when we arrived we saw that there are huge cracks in the walls, and painted over windows. This place definitely needs some work. Also, be prepared to line up like cattle in the morning to stake your claim on a chair by the pool. It's quite comical watching everyone jockey for position to get their favorite spot. But don't expect to be able to walk down to the pool and find a spot to lay out. They are all taken within minutes of taking the ropes down. Also, don't plan on coming back from the beach to dip in the pool. It closes way too early and I'd roped off. If you happen to get one of the rooms directly above the reception area be prepared to hear horrible cover bands every night until well past 11. I had to change rooms because the music kept me up all night and if the music didn't, the screaming and yelling from the guests at 2 am did. Overall I can't really recommend this place to anyone unless you like overpaying for subpar amenities and having rules changed on you mid stay with horrible, insecure Wi-Fi. So after leaving this review the next day my internet was mysteriously cut off. I guess the manager lady not only likes to make guests at the hotel for almost 2 months like they are second class but also want to try and prevent anyone of spreading the word of her failures. Well honey, you have failed miserably. Like I wrote before, most of the employees are super friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Hopefully upper management can get rid of the lady that claimed to be the manager last night and correct a major flaw. With a little work to this place and better food it could be really nice.

As soon as we arrived we received a welcome drink and were promptly brought to our beautiful room. In the booking form they asked our reason for travel and as my partner and I were celebrating our fourth anniversary, I wrote it down. When we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us with a note from the management wishing us a happy anniversary, it was lovely. Throughout the trip the front desk was accommodating--bringing us a corkscrew for a bottle of wine we brought back to drink on the balcony and quickly cleaning up glass when I clumsily dropped and broke a glass cup next to the bed. There is a huge breakfast buffet every morning which was pretty good with the usual components of eggs, bacon, and more free champagne if you're into that. The pool is absolutely stunning with many chairs around it for tanning and a little place to get food. It's a quick walk down to the marina which has tons of restaurants and then about another 15 minute walk along the water to get to the bigger town of playa blanca. What I really loved about this hotel was how close it was to activities while still being tranquil enough where you can hear the water while quietly sipping wine on the balcony. The fridge they supply is empty so you can go to the shop but also has an option for them to fill it for you if you want. The room also has tons of amenities including a candle, a reed diffuser, shoe cleaner and then the normal room amenities of shampoo and conditioner etc. The spa is lovely with a giant bubbling pool and a steam room and a sauna. If you book a treatment then you can go for free that day. There is a bar in the hotel which has activities including pool and even a piano singer one night who was great. Overall the only parts I didn't love were that there was no beach belonging to the hotel, and that the king bed is just two individually made beds pushed together (which I've now learned is actually the norm in the canaries). Ifyou have a car definitely take a day trip to Papagayo which is very close by. A great place to celebrate our anniversary and truly a relaxing experience.

The complex is clean and well positioned, but it was pretty much a bussmans holiday. Think the TV show Benidorm, but with more tattoos. We went all inclusive as we were budgeting, but beware the AI is not as you know it from the long haul 5* destinations. Brekkie is 8-10am, typical greasy "English" fry up stuff, continental selection (though the meats were the cheap reformed kind), fruit (banana, orange, apples), yoghurt, breads, vending machine juice and hot drinks, and a "diet breakfast" selection of pastries, cakes, criossants and green tea (!!). Lunch 1-3pm sees soup, hot food, salad bar, jelly, ice cream, fruit (addition of melon here!), and waiter service for drinks. Dinner 7-9pm is the same set up as lunch. If you want premium drinks, or any food outwith these times, you must pay. 20€ a week per person for a wifi I was told never works (I got a SIM from Three to use abroad - magic!). 15€ if you want a remote control for your TV and 26€ if you want any English speaking channels. We never watched TV so not an issue. If you have kids, there's no kids club or activities and the entertainment is pretty poor. Despite the hotel saying not to, everyone reserves a lounger. Get in early. I'd stay here again as a base as its located in the nicer end of town, but for me, it falls short authentic experience when it comes to food.

I've read negative review about this place, but I honestly have had nothing but positive experiences while staying here!
