Wow! A lot of disgruntled folks but that has not been my experience. I've been with OCCU for probably 20 years. I have used many of their services: card, auto loan both new and used, mortgage services. They have always been nice, polite and I was always kept 'in the loop' during processing time. And processing time was always done very timely. Very informative and I feel confident in their service. There have been a couple of posting errors but always remedied immediately when brought forward. Much easier than dealing with the Big Banking method of proving their error to them! I also have an account with one of the Big Ones and also get charged a monthly fee for the 'privilege' of them using my money! Ridiculous! So I'm reading the reviews on this place and if you read them all, the one star'd submissions are all frustrated individuals that seem to forget that EVERY financial institution has hiccups like this. I've had Chase, BOFA, KeyBank, ALL of them work like this. Just because you're disgruntled because you can't reach a body fast enough by phone does not warrant a 1 star review. Let me tell you about my experience(s) there thus far. I've had them for about a year. My credit card was hacked once [online purchase] and they caught it immediately. Every single time I go in there I am greeted immediately. Every service I've ever needed was taken care of promptly, from new cards, to coin counting, to ordering checks. I have the mobile app which I pay bills from, there is NEVER an issue they don't handle immediately. And let me tell you what happened just this morning. Thank you LISA FROM THE WIRE TRANSFER DEPARTMENT. I completed the wire for something that should have been paid for YESTERDAY. And while the payment was not late, it was a matter of confirming with my seller that the payment was made for shipping purposes. So I called the 800 customer service number, I hit 4..then I hit 3. And I was connected immediately. I didn't have to wait, I wasn't 10th in line, and it's already 9:40am on a Tuesday..if that tells you anything. So I explained to the young man what it was I did, and how I did it. He confirmed the payment would not go out until TOMORROW. *ALL* financial institutions work their wire departments differently. OCCU likes to LOOK at each one they just don't send them out [thank you fraud department measures!] but when I explained why and what it was, he asked if he could put me on hold. When he came back he said LISA in the wire department would pull mine and process it AND send me an email today of when it was completed. IF THAT ISN'T SERVICE AND KINDNESS I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. I asked if I could send them cookies or pizza as a thank you and he said "just pay it forward and make someone else smile we're glad we could assist you with your transaction that's why we are here". WHEN do you ever hear something like that from a customer service representative any more? KUDOS to them. Post pandemic people have no patience any more. BUT remember please-the reason you USE THEM is because they provide the human touch service large banks do not. WELL DONE OCCU! and many thanks. read more

Place is a joke. My loan is setup for automatic payments, that they don't take out. And goodluck getting ahold of someone. Good ol liberal Oregonians screwing it to the working man. What a joke. Been on hold for 18 minutes, still no rep on the phone. So I must not be the only one with issues. SMH Spent 35 minutes on hold, finally clicked for a call back. Lady calls back and is useless. I made a payment Saturday since they can't do the simplest of tasks. Came out of my account today, she goes I see nothing. I wouldn't trust them to watch a stuffed animal, yet alone be a financial institution. She can't tell me why 1/2 payment was taken last month, can't explain to me why I can't make additional payments and apply it to prinicipal. I have to wait for a call back after creating a ticket. Talk about a waste of time. Will be contacting the appropriate channels to get this sham of a company some sort of discipline. As they seem to think they can or can't do what they're supposed to do. I have been banking with this bank for 20 years. I was never very satisfied with their small thinking and attitude that treated me like a criminal. I cannot use my business debit card to purchase products for my business unless I call and get permission first. I cannot leave the state and make purchases without calling first to get permission to use my card out of state. I am going to open a new bank account today because I was online attempting to make a less than $100 purchase that was denied and am now on hold for over 10 minutes waiting to get approval for my purchase. THIS BANK COSTS BUSINESS OWNERS MONEY. This is the absolute worst bank I have ever seen. I filed a complaint with the state of Oregon Financial Oversight Board. This bank needs to be shut down. DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY OR ANYTHING WITH THIS BANK. read more

I have been Banking with OCCU your years. there tellers are always nice and helpful. All of there branches have Horrible Parking, I was told they were going to open another branch, that never happened. After trying to play bumper cars in there parking lot I decided to drive home which is about 30 miles from the nearest branch and call. You cant call your branch, so you have "one" phone number to call. After listening to the prompts and gibberish that had nothing to to do with my call only to find out I was 52 in the que. So the question is, my bank has horrid parking, non existent company service, why stay? Could I in good conscience recommend OCCU for any thing? PS I got better interest rate for a new truck at Oregon state CU, and a better Mortgage rate at Selco. read more

I am so unbelievably irritated after 6 different conversations over the last 45 days this place cannot GET MY FREAKING PAYMENTS RIGHT. They continue to code their ACH PAYMENTS INCORRECTLY so they pull from an account that they do not have authorization pulling from. These people do not know what they are talking about, every single conversation they say it's been fixed. But then they continue to send me letters that my routing and account number are not correct but in fact they are doing the payments incorrectly. Pictures to follow of their inability to properly initiate and code ACH payments. Pull the recordings of them and the information they are quoting is NOT what they are doing. read more

I have been banking with OCCU for several years and decided to trust them with my getting a credit card through them. What a huge mistake! I reported a fraudulent charge on my statement that is paid automatically. I gave all the information requested and they didn't pull the money back from the scammer and in fact, didn't report it at all. I only found this out when I called to see what was happening with my dispute. I couldn't believe they did nothing with the fraud report. I reported it again and again they didn't do anything. I called a third time to report the fraud charge and was assured it would be resolved. Guess what? That's right, nothing. I'm out the money, they don't care at all even though I reported the scammers to the BBB, and the FTC. They will not have your back at OCCU. They will not help you. They suck! read more

While at the time of this writing it may be hard to trust the safety of ANY financial institution, in the 20+ years I've done basic banking with OCCU, I've consistently been pleased with their products -- especially Remarkable Checking (free, no minimum balance, pays interest) and, more recently, Ignite Savings. I've relied on the smooth running of their online banking and bill paying services and, when I needed them, found the humans (!) who pick up the phone in Member Services always to be refreshingly courteous, responsive, and easy to deal with. 5 . read more

Nothing but problems with my auto payment for my car. No communication with the company from day one. Not a single paper in regards to my auto loan. No emails. No physical statements. Then when asked to be provided those things the company decided I was behind an extra month of payments from multiple months ago that I was never contacted about. When I called to make a payment that info wasn't passed down to me. Had to recieve a call from collections multiple weeks later. read more

Plus I have been online four times with both OCCU member services and credit card service--each time no one ever answered, despite my waiting an hour each time. I finally hung up. I am on the line now for the fifth time. This is horrid. As soon as I pay, I will close my account. I cannot risk your technology problems ruining my hard-won great credit rating. Love Oregon Community Credit Union. Hate their location, available parking is a problem. Biggest dislike is their faulty drive-thru ATM. Twice it has eaten my cash deposit and given no receipt, nor credited my account. I've had to drive around, find a place to park and go into the bank to report it. It takes up to a week or more to get it taken care of, plus lots of phone calls. Meanwhile, my money is not in my account!!! I will never deposit in their drive-thru again!!! read more

I like this bank out of all the other ones I have tried in Oregon. I agree with another review the location is horrible, the parking lot has no spots or they are too small and squished together to fit a compact car if big cars are parked next to you. I have been almost hit numerous times because of the parking lot. I avoid going into the bank because of the parking lot. I like the drive-thru, but often on a 3 day weekend, the ATM runs out of money or malfunctions. The other problem with the drive-thru is that you can be stuck in the back of the bank because UPS or other delivery trucks will park so you can not drive around. The Cafe Yumm drive-thru parks in the way of the exit. it would be nice if there was a whole new location in South Salem. It would be nice if an ATM machine was put on Lancaster, to use because if you need cash by the Mall, there is no credit union ATM. read more

Oregon Community Credit Union was great when it came to vehicle loans, so I thought I'd give them a shot when it came to everyday banking. Awful! Problems every time I turned around, and not even a call center to assist if it wasn't traditional "banker's hours". In most cases they corrected their errors, but that was only after hours and hours on the phone. Their 3rd party bill pay system is haphazard at best. Their internal processes and practices are sorely in need of modernization, including their training and customer service. I should have walked away when the representative at the branch was getting chewed out for messing something up earlier in the day in front of all the customers in the building, ridiculously unprofessional. I've closed my checking account after less than three months. read more

I have now had two loans with OCCU. One a vehicle and the other, our new RV. In both cases they were chosen because their interest rates were absolutely the lowest, even beating out my own bank. The loan officers make the process totally painless and extremely fast. They are always quick to respond to questions. I may eventually switch from my bank and do all of my banking with them; they are that good. read more

Worst credit union/bank experience to date. They keep calling and keep calling and keep calling trying to sell my products I don't need or want. I've even asked them not to and they still keep calling. It's annoying enough time considering financing my truck through another bank how to get rid of them! read more
