PLEASE READ -- Full story below but I received a Staph infection after getting a HALO and IPL treatment here. Please see pics and videos. Another person I sent there within a week contracted the same thing. I did not leave my house for over a month due to the embarrassment of my skin. I first met Dr. Alan two and a half years ago. He was professional, and I trusted him with my face. During one of my sessions getting Botox, I pointed out that my skin pigmentation bothered me. He recommended I see Kristy, who works for him, to get Halo and IPL. I was hesitant as it's an intense treatment, but he reassured me all would be well. I made my appointment for a few weeks later and had the procedure done. As expected, I left there with my face on fire and red. However, I was so excited about the process that I volunteered to do videos daily. Within two days, my entire face was covered with bumps. The bumps continued to multiply and spread. I immediately texted Kristy, who told me I should come in and get the red light treatment done. When I came in, she looked at my face but thought it was just a small breakout. A few more days passed, and the rash had now spread to my chest and back. I kept her and Dr. Alan aware of what was going on. They suggested it was an acne breakout and prescribed me doxycycline. I took the drug as instructed, but the rash worsened. An entire month went by of me not wanting to leave my house or be around anyone. Finally, I went to the Doctor for something unrelated, who took one look at my chest and face and said I had a Staph infection. He prescribed me a different medicine which FINALLY cleared it up. I'll save the other drama and my friend hearing Kristy talk bad about me to the other girls, but I confronted Dr. Alan about it. He said in so many words that she was tough sometimes and she felt like her patients were never happy. I was extremely frustrated with that response, but he offered to compensate me for the 1K she charged me to zap the 'red marks,' i.e., the Staph infection, and do more sessions of the IPL. I consulted my doctor after, and he highly recommended I not receive any treatments there, which is when I asked to be refunded for the additional 1K. It's months later, and I don't feel right not bringing awareness to this. While I had positive experiences, nothing makes up for getting a staph infection and the way Kristy's unprofessionalism was handled. read more

I followed my esthetician Lily here and I couldn't be happier. I have been seeing Dr. Szeftel for about a year now and Lily for about 2 years and they both take such great care of me. I've done several treatments with Dr. S now all were wonderful, but I saw the biggest change with Morpheus8. It made such a big improvement in my skin laxity, especially around the jowls. The staff (Asia, Lily and Dr. S) ensured I was cared for the whole time and even called the next day to check in on me. I later did two rounds of Kybella with Dr. S and Forma to tighten the skin post-Kybella (you really do need to do a little tightening after Kybella to see the best results). My jaw is chiseled like a female Brad Pitt now and I am thrilled with not only the results but also the friendly demeanor of the whole staff... they make me feel so comfortable every time. Got some face fillers here on Wednesday afternoon of last week and botox was also used. The next morning when I tried to get out of bed I had total imbalance when I tried to stand up. It was so bad I had to hold on to wall and table while trying to get to the kitchen. This imbalance lasted for three days and then slowly subsided by Sunday. I called the office manager on Thursday morning and she had doctor Szeftel call me back and he is trying to tell me that I have vertigo which I never had in my entire life and do not have. Told him the botox in my face was probably the cause of my imbalance which of course he was having none of it stating there was no connection. This makes about as much sense as getting run over by a bus and having two broken legs as a result and the cop shows up and says I do not see the connection with your broken legs and the bus running you over . It looks like I was given too much botox or filler in the wrong place which caused the severe imbalance mostly in my left ear area. Bottom line I was not able to leave my house for three days so needless to say I will never go back to Ocean Cosmetic Medicine again. read more

I went for 2 issues i had on my face. 1 was a red spot and the other was an ugly scar i felt self conscious about. The nurses and doctor was so friendly and nice. They even have a mini frig of beverages while you wait. I did the consult and was satisfied with the price of the services. Ive shopped around prior and Ocean's were more reasonable. The first treatment didnt work completely but that was to be expected. I just did my second round and with fingers and toes crossed itll work this time. AMAZING! I have spend the better part of two years staring at my long lines in sadness. The dimples I loved many years ago had merged together and become a LONG line that made me feel self-conscious. The idea of fillers never crossed my mind and for a long time I placed it in the "It's-not-THAT-bad" bucket. I decided recently that it bothered me too much and I should see what could be done. I thought Botox was the answer because I didn't know anything. I called a Dr. on Tuesday in Beverly Hills, because I figured if you're going to do cosmetic, why not BH? I should have known better after my many, MANY experiences with BH doctors and dentist, that a BH location doesn't necessarily mean quality or good technique. I sent photos to the doctor and was told to wait until the next day (Wednesday) to hear back. Thank God! In the meantime, I was searching for a second option--just in case. I found Ocean Cosmetic and I liked what they said about a natural look on their website. I called. Firstly, Bianca was so LOVELY. Her sweetness and kindness on the phone sold me on a consultation the next day. I went in without an expectations and was so blown away by the care, attention, and information provided. I felt so much more knowledgeable and confident. They allayed my anxieties. I decided to go for it and get softer fillers. Secondly, Kristy was amazing. She knows what she is doing! I trusted her with my face implicitly. Thirdly, the results? FANTASTIC! So great, I cried from joy--I can be a bit of a cry baby. A small thing like a filler may seem silly to cry about but to me it really meant the world. I am so happy that I found them and called. The results look natural and amazing. My best friend who was so against it, was amazed by the results too. Lastly, I did hear back from the Dr. I had originally called and you want to know what he told me. He said, "that area is not the best to do fillers" and then proceeded to tell me the best approach was micro needling with PRP for $800 per session and I would need 4-6 sessions and it still wouldn't fully work? Wait, what? I politely told them that I had gone elsewhere and that the place was able to do the fillers with ease, skill, and great care. I've been getting treatments at Ocean Cosmetic for 2+ years (about every 3 months). It's time I review, since my experience has been a 5-star experience after every visit. I'll break it down into categories of choosing a med-spa: Pricing / the Doctor: SO reasonably priced, compared to other places! I've asked about various treatments (fillers, juvaderm, kybella, facials, etc.) and I *never* feel like I'm being upsold any treatments just so they can book something more. Dr. S really does seem to have such a creative/scientific eye, and doesn't like the 'overdone' look...so you will feel like you...but brighter/smoother/etc. I've never felt like I looked overdone or underdone... he offers you to come back if the botox doesn't place well...and in two years I've never needed to come back! If something isn't right, he'll fix it free of charge...and I've never needed to do that! His placement is so great. Booking: Asia is who you will call and speak with -- she has been with the company for 5+ years, consistently has such an upbeat demeanor, is so helpful, energetic and just lovely. Answers questions, calls you back right away if she's on the other line, books and organizes your appointments, and manages all logistical things. She's organized and on top of it. Super organized. Also I haven't needed to wait - usually I arrive right on time, and am seen right away. They don't run late, they seem to be super organized and on top of booking at the right cadence so you're seen well.
