And they're consistently open which doesn't sound like much but there are other places that run on island time. Living in such a wealthy area on Long Island you would think our grocery stores would be top of the line. That is farthest from the truth. I have been to better grocery stores in much lower income neighborhoods than the ones we have in the Hamptons. I particularly had enough tonight and could not keep this bottled up. I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. My family and I miss the old staff... they were wonderful. Do better Montauk IGA. Bring back normal checkouts instead of this computer BS. Two self check outs stations were enough. I've not had a problem finding anything grocery wise here, they usually have all the needs covered. The variety of prepared foods is amazing. They are a great stop if you want something ready, made, and set to heat up/enjoy at home. Staff have usually be helpful and there usually have been plenty of staffed lines as well as self checkout kiosks available. I thought I may be waxing nostalgic until my most recent visit to the area and using this store again...nope, they are still that solid of a store to me. Two thumbs up!
