Guy up front with gauges in ears is rude an weird as hell. Don't even got hashbrowns an think they can be a breakfast place. I was asked by multiple people if I paid already when I already did, and was told to leave after I bought my food and was just waiting for my friends. Sandwich was alright but the service ruined it. Came here recently on my last visit to the Isle of Fire. This spot is a bit of a lifesaver! Let's start with the bad...the pricing. Obviously, you're on an island...this is a seasonal business...prices are inflated. That being said, if there's something you need while you're on the island...you'll probably find it here. I stopped in for coffee pods and a toothbrush...it ran me $19 but it is what it is....don't forget your toothbrush if you're going to Fire Island LOL I did see a deli section but wasn't able to order any food due to time constraints...hoping to get a BEC next time around. read more

We checked out different markets in Ocean Beach and Ocean Bay Park, but Seaview clearly stands far above the others. They maintain a solid selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bagels and bread, herbs, canned goods, kitchen essentials (butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, etc), and land and sea-based proteins. To present an excellent dinner party or just make a bunch of sandwiches for your family, Seaview is the place to go. The excellent customer service is what really stood out for us. They maintained a firm stand on facial masks and the number of customers in the store. Their knowledgable help at the fish and meat counter was excellent too. If you need a market, a real market, it's tough to find anything on Fire Island. Thankfully there is an amazing market that will be able to satisfy nearly all of your needs - Seaview Market! Not only are they run by an amazing family (for many years), they understand the area and stock the key things you want for your beach vacation. You may think they're going to price gouge because you on a remote island, but they are actually very reasonable. You can get your meats, eggs, milk, vegetables and fruit of course, but you'll find speciality items like an array of wonderful cheeses, marinated steaks/chops and truffle butter! They make great sandwiches that you can take to the beach (not Ocean Beach) and have a little picnic. You'll find almost every chip you might desire and of course a plethora of ice creams for the kids (or the kid in you). Double bonus is that they deliver in a fast and friendly fashion! It's safe to say that the days of transporting eggs and staples across the bay should be a thing of the past. Treat yourself to some of their other items as you browse through their well laid out store and you'll have a Fire Island Sunset smile in no time! read more

My family LOVES Seaview Market. They have been our savior during the offseason, especially during this coronavirus pandemic, consistently providing top-notch food and service. The quality of their produce and meat is always exceptional...often better than the stuff I get in the city! And the customer service is superb. Super inflated prices, even for Fire Island where you expect to pay a bit more. 4.75$ for a half gallon of milk. 15$ for cigs. They do not have full shelves, there is a butcher in the back but I cannot say yay or nay either way. I stayed just long enough to grab some items, watch the price soar on the register, calmly tell the cashier that that is ridiculous and restock the shelves before going down the lane to the Mermaid Market for a tinier discount but a price reduction I could in good conscience pay for. Wonderful little market in the town of Seaview on Fire Island. Next to the ferry, very laid back, and shoes not required. As far as I can tell, they have everything you need! We needed fresh mint this summer and couldn't find it, but they have a garden on the roof and they'll go run and grab whatever you need. If you live on the island you can open an account and just say your name at checkout, so you pay at the end of the season instead of every time you come in. Tres convenient! read more

This market is pretty dope! For FI, the selection of eats is impressive and they even carry a small amount of really great side items (some homemade). The BEC's are the perfect hangover cure and the bagels are more than decent. Kudos to them for that. Butttt... The prices. Stop. Jack it up, sure. But $6.99 for two tomatoes is ridiculous. My items today... carton of eggs, pack of gum, 2 avocado, 2 tomatoes... $28. Boo. Sausage pinwheels run around 12.99$ too. Makes me remember why I used to trek all of my groceries from the mainland. So, come here for a sandwich and the essentials, but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it. read more

My family has been coming to fire island for many summers and we love the Seaview Market! If you walk in expecting anything close to mainland supermarket prices you will be disappointed. Here they have to pay extra costs to get everything shipped out, and have a limited season. But the people who work there are so friendly, the store is incredibly well stocked and the sandwiches/quality of produce, meat and fish is great. read more

This is a great market! I was at Fire Island for the weekend and stayed at Seaview Marina just 200 feet away. This market has just about everything you could want. The aisles are tightly packed with groceries of every kind. The coffee was ready first thing in the morning and the "chefs" at the counter will make up any kind of sandwich or sub you could want. Prices are not inexpensive, but then nothing on Fire Island is. read more

3.5 stars to the best of my knowledge, this market is physically located in seaview, not ocean beach. (the name should tip you off) but o.k. i'll play along with this. i absolutely posolutely without a shadow of doubt, love fire island; the only real impediment to this love affair is the almighty dollar, or better said the lack thereof. to enable these holiday trysts, i have found that the most economical way to survive is to grill, grill and grill at "home." everything is more expensive here because it all comes in by boat and the merchants have about 3 months to earn their yearly dinero. so cheapskate that i am, i always implore mr. unlucky not to come "home" empty handed. inevitably, there is only so much a human can carry and cart in a wagon,and something is usually forgotten, like toilet paper ,most certainly a necessity, not a luxury. for those things that have fallen off the wagon, like the buns for the hamburger, the butter for the bread, the crackers for the cheese and of course the cookies and the paper, we come here for the most part. you can open up an account and pay periodically. or pay as you go. a nifty, small, family run operation! read more

Over 40 years ago I delivered groceries and stocked shelves at the Seaview Market (Little's). They still offer delivery and you can phone an order in if you like. The market was severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy but I am happy to report that all is back in order and improved while keeping the old charm of the space. read more

This little store has a better selection than most upscale city markets. The produce and meats are fresh and high quality as are their prepared foods. Try their famous ribs and grilled vegetables. Wes and the rest of crew treat all customers like family. They're friendly, helpful and and extremely accommodating. If you're looking for one of the few things they don't carry, just ask and they'll probably have it by the next day. read more

Yes, everything here costs way more than off the island, there's no getting around that but you know they have to get it to the island and that's expensive and they're the only game in town so that's their prerogative. If you accept the prices and move on to the quality and the experience of shopping at Seaview Market, I have never had anything to complain about. They stock what you want, they'll cook what you want, they'll stay open if you're late, they're super nice and make the whole community stronger. That's not true of any other grocery I've been to. read more
