Stopped in this morning, and was going to get some fruit, but their selection was pretty meager, so figured I'd wait and go to the Farmers Market today (Thursday) at 9 am. I did pick up a cinnamon roll (pretty good, but very sweet, more like a donut) and a chocolate croissant (not so good; very dense; not flaky). Their website says they are open daily 7 am - 5 pm, but are often open til 8 pm or later. Note: Yelp had listed the place as closed, but it's definitely open. I submitted the change to the Yelp team.

And they're consistently open which doesn't sound like much but there are other places that run on island time. Living in such a wealthy area on Long Island you would think our grocery stores would be top of the line. That is farthest from the truth. I have been to better grocery stores in much lower income neighborhoods than the ones we have in the Hamptons. I particularly had enough tonight and could not keep this bottled up. I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. My family and I miss the old staff... they were wonderful. Do better Montauk IGA. Bring back normal checkouts instead of this computer BS. Two self check outs stations were enough. The Deets: This store was my first Wegmans experience many years ago, I have loved them then and ever since (I was so thankful when one finally opened up near me!). Large store with plenty of selection not only for groceries but also with the many prepared food stations available as well. I've not had a problem finding anything grocery wise here, they usually have all the needs covered. The variety of prepared foods is amazing. They are a great stop if you want something ready, made, and set to heat up/enjoy at home. Staff have usually be helpful and there usually have been plenty of staffed lines as well as self checkout kiosks available. I thought I may be waxing nostalgic until my most recent visit to the area and using this store again...nope, they are still that solid of a store to me. Two thumbs up!
