30 days after our stay found out they claim I had a dog in the unit, which was untrue. When I called and talked to someone about it they said they would talk with housekeeping to check. Completely dissatisfied! While I know each property is independently owned, there's so much the resort is responsible for and the first is maintaining that the owners of the property keep certain standards. There was no cable TV at all, due to COVID restrictions we had to put our own sheets and everything on our beds. (I've stayed in hotels all year during the height of COVID and never had to do this) Woke up the first morning to find roaches running across the kitchenette. No courtesy's travel size soaps, no toilet paper at all. Because our condo was not managed by the resort and through a management company.. we couldn't use the pool side bar, they wouldn't even accept cash or credit card. Our balcony wasn't cleaned at all when we arrived. Cigarette butts, sand and just nasty . The balcony chairs broken. The air conditioner worked so well we had to go buy fans at Walmart the first night we were here in order to have temperatures comfortable enough to sleep! read more

This company has horrible customer service. We booked a Myrtle Beach vacation with this company in November of 2021 for a summer vacation in June 2022. A week before our arrival we discover they have over booked us. I spent days trying to contact them only to be shuffled from voice mail to voice mail or to be told by Heather that" they are investigating the situation because we are having an issue with our computer system." I was assured by the manager Melissa they would correct the situation. With 5 days to go before our arrival, Jilly finally calls me to tell me they are refunding my money and can no longer accommodate us because they over booked. When asked if they would set us up in another location since this was their mistake and we had such short notice, they questioned the fact that I had a confirmation number for the dates they over booked. I recently stayed at Chateau by the Sea in North Myrtle Beach Unit H3. I have stayed at Chateau by the sea before in a different unit and the location is great. The previous condo was also in great condition and the property manager was a pleasure to work with. This condo and Ocean Breeze not so much. The reason I chose this unit was simply for the price. I had read reviews on Vrbo about how the carpet is stained, doors being rusted, and the overall cleanliness being poor, but I simply wanted a place on the beach at an affordable price during spring break for my family. I did not however read reviews on Ocean Breeze rentals until after my trip has ended and I came to find out that I am dealing with a very shady property management company. Upon entering the condo, everything seemed OK. I did a walk through and there appeared to be no damage or major issues that would cause me to reach out to Ocean Breeze or document my findings. Everything I noticed such as the carpet or cleanliness should already be a known fact as many previous reviews notated it. We rented the condo starting 3/30 through 4/6 but left early on 4/5 to begin our trip home. I followed the "check out" instructions precisely and made sure the entire condo was cleaned and tidy. I had no worries about losing my refundable deposit. I heard nothing until 4/10 and the first email I receive was to notify me that my refundable deposit of $200 was being initiated. The next email hours later was an unexplained charge of $500. I immediately called Ocean Breeze to get an explanation. I was transferred 3 times to Melissa Labanowski and each time it went to voicemail. I called within business hours and every time I called no one could give me an explanation on why I was being charged. I only then receive an email hours later stating that the cleaning crew found a hole in the cushion and that is why I am being charged $500 as the couch may need to be replaced if it cannot be fixed. The damage shown was on the backside of the cushion as I would of seen and reported a hole in the front had I seen it. A reasonable renter should not have to inspect all sides of a couch cushion and worry about being charged an exorbitant fee after leaving. If you rent from this management company, do a video walk through of the entire place and inspect every detail as they are now trying to claim I damaged the couch cushion which I know for a fact we did not. We covered the couch with a blanket as the couch was disgusting to sit on. Why did they initiate the security deposit if I had caused damage? They also charge you a $59 damage waiver fee for damages up to $1000 , but I am still charged an additional $500 for a cushion. What does the damage waiver fee cover? It is designed to cover accidental and unintentional damages. I know I nor my kids intentionally cut the couch open and tried to hide it. I never reached out upon arriving or leaving as I never saw the damage otherwise, I would have noted it. Only upon being accused of damage and $500 do I google Ocean Breeze and see all of the poor reviews from their rentals. There is a reason most are 1 star. Their BBB and Yelp are also 1 star. There is a reason. I will be fighting the charge as well as reporting Ocean Breeze to the BBB, Vrbo and anywhere else I can help future renters from being wrongly accused of damage or staying in condos that need updating. First of all, the review from Diane (on their Google Page) is a definite fake, written for the obvious reason of raising the rental company's rating and having that be the first a potential customer sees as it is once again, time to start looking at/ securing those desired Vacay dates, before they are all booked up! I am sure that if I continue to look closer, there are multiple others... even here. On to my dilemma: Last year I booked a condo with 3 Beds for all of us (My Cousin, Aunt, Husband, Myself & the kiddos). This just so happened to be at the Sands Ocean Club and "Resort"..? That is quite a stretch, BTW! So, upon our arrival, this place was very ran down and dilapidated! The multiple smells of mold, funk and pure uncleanliness smacked us in the faces immediately after just opening the door. This should have been our first clue how our vacation would end, which was not well, unfortunately. There was mold on walls, the ceilings, on appliances, and mold & sand in the bathroom and in the shower/ all over shower curtain. We still tried to give them the benefit I think down and called it hopes that someone would come out to clean as the floors were disgusting but no attempt was ever made. We were even willing to clean ourselves, which we did, and tried to stay to salvage our vacation since we never received a call back as promised, BUT..... the last straw was waking to something around my foot. You would not believe my surprise and DISGUST when I looked down underneath the covers, the next morning, and there was a pair of dirty (no, FILTHY!) used underwear on me IN THE BED, that was supposed to have been cleaned, WITH US! There were not enough linens for everyone to begin with so they couldn't just be changed and these were nasty! Plus, the office still had not gotten back to us and were definitely not going to as 6 months later, I have heard NOTHING! Not a Single Word! We went to the office, with photos of everything (even the stained underwear), and demanded some sort of a refund, which they stated they would process. This was after they said we could just go home since we were "complaining" as if we were being unreasonable!?...? No offer to move us knowing that we were 5 hours from home and even took off work for these dates! So, no vacation for us in the future since we could not take off any more time from work... they DID NOT care! We let them know that we would be leaving, after we had checked with other rental agencies in the area, and they had no way to accommodate us since we needed 3 beds in order to stay together, which is what we paid for in the beginning. Save yourself the trouble AND the nightmare of dealing with this shady, unethical company! PLEASE Read ALL of the negative reviews!!!!! On Google and the ones here, even those that "aren't recommended", as they have all of them for a reason.... which we unfortunately, discovered a little too late. -- You can see who they are based on their replies to the reviews they received on here. Apparently, nothing is ever their fault! This also means that they aren't willing to change or even accept that they HAVE made mistakes. I use to rent my condo in myrtle beach with OCEAN BREEZE got so many complaints again them .They took down my shower curtain to wash it and it never returned they lost it and gave me one from from another unit they rent out. Told the manager about it and she asked me for the receipt. Like I kept it. If I knew they would have lost my shower curtain I would have kept the receipt. To get a refund..They are always getting thing mixed up. Seemed like I was always sending them messages on things that had different unit numbers on them that did not belong to me. Also Had Items broken in my unit they never said anything about it. Also they have a limit on how many days you can stay in your own unit during peak season. There is literally no elevator here. The steps are so steep and narrow this will 100% ruin your entire vacation if youre not a professional athlete. Railings on the balconies are loose and dangerous. You have to bring your own soaps and toiletries. There's a sign that reads "no motorcycles or trailers allowed" apparently this also applies to golf carts. So if you'd like to rent a golf cart, forget about it. The only pro about this place is the walking distance to the ocean but after going up and down so many stairs it's very hard to walk in the sand or literally do anything else. It's a great place to get your legs in good shape I suppose but definitely not a place to relax. Please save your money and rent a nicer place. read more

Do not rent from this company. My family booked a 3 bedroom condo at the Sand Dunes Resort. What they don't tell you is you do not have access to many of the amenities at the resort if you use them. I had three grand children 6 and under. The water park and mini golf is very visible to all, but you cannot use them. I called the day we checked in to report that the slider to the balcony could not be locked. Having young children we wanted the door locked. They took the report and said they would send someone to repair it and no one showed up. read more

They still charged my card $200 in the morning for a cancelation fee. When I spoke with Malissa, the manager she said " You made the mistake, nothing we can do". Never again. Pictures were so deceiving on VRBO. It stated that it could sleep 6 comfortably. Yeah, maybe 4. We stayed at Sand Dunes. Room dirty upon arrival. Sand all in the tub and the shower was not working. We couldn't shower for about 24 hours. Parking passes were promised to be in our room upon arrival. Nope. Took them almost TWO days. We didn't have enough towels and was informed that we had to do our own laundry. Excuse me, I'm on vacation. I don't want to clean or do laundry! Not to mention we had to pay a cleaning fee, for what? No one came to clean. Cockroaches in the room. They have poor customer service and I demand something be done. You can't treat people like this. I attempted to rent a condo at Myrtle Beach through Home Away, rental #1372330 and as I entered all my credit card information the system read "your dates are not available" but yet they charged me $58.00. I called Home Away but the customer service at Philippines could not assist and could not transfer me to the US but told me "don't worry we got it under control" I called Ocean Breeze Beach Vacations to make sure they did refunded my money and to not charge any more to my credit card. The thief who answered the phone "Journi" told me that it has happened several times and to not worry about it, that she would send me a cancellation form and complete it and send it back. I did and they still charged me $587.00 AND REFUSED TO REFUND the money. I will be taking legal action and will report them to any website I can find to alert the public. read more

My Family and I booked a vacation through this company for a Myrtle Beach Vacation way back in September. Our Vacation was booked for June, and in mid April I received a call that our condo that sleeps 8 had been sold and they would have to find us another condo BUT we would be in a different resort AND they had no condos available that would sleep 8. So I chose another condo from a few photos and had to put 2 of our children with the rest of our family at the resort we were originally supposed to be in. I saved a whopping $45 dollars on the price, and was told that we would be about 5 minutes by car from the rest of our Family, I thought this was no big deal and went ahead and thought "what's the worst that could happen?". Well... On arrival we walked into a mob of people smoking in front of the entrance, only one of the two elevators at the main entrance was working and we had to wait 10 minutes for the elevator to even come to the main level. Again, we brushed it off. Well then I went to see the rest of our Family at the resort we were originally booked at and I was blown away at this beautiful place. So, they paid virtually the same price as we did, and got a beautiful condo and we got what is comparable to something you would see in the projects. To top it off, our second night in this hell that we call a resort, the people 2 floors below us were up partying all night, smoking on their balcony and their ashes were flying up onto us as we sat outside on our balcony. Then I woke up to do laundry and the quarter machine didn't work so I had to walk across the road to the office where they didn't have change. I had to then travel around town at 7:30 am looking for quarters. Not impressed at all, my beautiful family vacation is crap because we dread going back to our condo and we can't wait to go home. By the way, we drove 860 miles from Michigan to get here to this hell. AND the rest of our Family is NOT 5 minutes away, they are more like 11-15 minutes away by car. I don't think this company would appreciate it if one of their executives were to stay at the Caravelle resort and endure the same hell the rest of the guests do. So, so disappointed! Even their own Staff is complaining about this place. P. S. I asked at the resort we were originally booked at and they had tons of availability. I tried calling Ocean Breeze Beach Vacations, left a message, and have not received a call back. If we hadn't driven so far for this vacation, we would have asked for a refund and gone home. I'm not sure there's enough room to say just how horrible my experience with this company was. When we arrived, it didn't take long to realize the housekeeper did very little if anything at all. Due to COVID the linens were all wrapped as to stay sanitary, which was great. When I went to put sheets on the beds, there was hair and mildew spots on all of the mattress pads. The bathroom floor was disgusting, covered in hair and grime that had quite obviously been there a while.We had no blanket whatsoever for the Murphy bed. The inside of the trash can was covered in the previous renter's trash residue, the oven was also covered in previous renter's spilled food. Because of the above, I felt I had no choice but to empty all the cabinets out completely, wipe them down, wash ALL dishes/utensils etc before I would allow my family to eat or drink anything. So much for a relaxing vacation. I wound up doing exactly what I had come to the beach to escape from doing every day. There were empty water bottles behind furniture, an OPEN tampon left in the bathroom on shelf under sink, my God the list goes on and on. I immediately e-mailed the company requesting two things: a mop so I could finish scrubbing the condo and a refund so I could go elsewhere, but NEVER had anyone contact me in response. I called DAILY trying to get through to someone and (coincidence? NO) it wasn't until the day before we left that I spoke with the assistant manager, which turned out to be a waste of time because ultimately she has absolutely no authority to make any decisions. She did send the head housekeeper out who pretended to listen and take notes while I showed her all the issues, but not once did she offer to re-clean or give me a mop. I have been now home THREE days and had to call this horrible excuse for a company twice and I STILL cannot get the general manager to answer/return ANY calls/emails. My advice, run ! as far and as fast as you can from this company. READ THE REVIEWS!!!! I wish I had before renting from them. read more

Working with Ocean Breeze was easy. Communication was good. The problem I have is that they charged me $160 because one of the kids spilled some coffee on a bed fitted sheet. Although I have been requesting a detailed list of charges, I have yet to receive it. This is too much for a cheap sheet (and supposedly for a plastic mattress cover). Although this charge hit my credit card immediately, 3 weeks later, and I am still waiting for return of my $50 key deposit. Why do I have to pay $50 for deposit for a throwaway room key card? Additionally, the room key card has the room number on it. Nobody does this because if it is misplaced, the finder can walk right into the room. read more

Then not even 24 hours later they said due to a "price glitch" in their systems they could not honor our reservation for that price and they canceled our reservation. Then 2 hours later our condo was back on VRBO for triple the price!! I spoke with the manager Journi and she was unwilling to help and not understanding in any way. Very sketchy company!!! BEWARE of this property management company in Myrtle Beach. I have never been at the receiving end of such poor representation of a rented property, and apathetic customer service. Where do I begin? I booked a month before a dance convention for 4 nights. It was two adults, six children (aged 11-5) and a baby. We planned to make a mini beach trip with our non dancers, and then wrap the long weekend up at the convention center. We arrived Saturday, July 21st at 5:30. Our check-in paperwork given through email, stated to go to the front desk of Sand Dunes and pick up our parking passes, unload and head straight to the room. After waiting in long lines, we were told by the front that parking passes would be in our room. They no longer do that and haven't for months. OKAY, so we can't park in the parking garage and there is no where for our two loaded vehicles to go. I run up four flights of stairs (because the elevator is broken), while the other mom waited with the double parked cars and kids. I plug in the code to a key box, it isn't working. I try again. I call the rental company, no answer. I run back down to front desk, and ask what I should do. NO HELP from them, it isn't their property. The lady hands me a card for the HOA president. I call the HOA president, he informs me that yes he can get me a key inside, but it will cost me $150 to come out and open the condo, but maybe since their are kids he can cut me a break and do it for half!! Finally, Ocean Breeze calls back and tell me to try a different code. Relief washes over me, and I call for the rest of the party and tell them I am on my way with parking passes. I walk in and relize it is VERY HOT in the condo, and there is a giant pile of wet towels on the floor by the AC unit and bowl of water. I can't stop to investigate because two kids are about to wet themselves, because it has now been an hour since we got in to the resort. We come to find that our rental has no A/C, it broke with the last check out and won't be fixed unit Sunday, maybe, if it thaws. They blame the previous renters for cranking the A/C to 55 and leaving the doors open. They knew it was broken, they knew it wouldn't be fixed for our checkin and yet they went ahead and allowed the reservation to go through and not try to make accomodations for us beforehand. At 7:00, we have no where to go, and the company is being slow with any answers. We head out to dinner, even though we planned to cook all our meals. Restaurants were not part of the budget. By 8:00 pm, we are told to move to another unit, but we must be out by 10am the next day.... we are told that there is another resort nearby that can accomodate us for the remainder of our trip, if the A/C can't be fixed starting on Sunday. I ask then, to just go ahead and move us. I told them we had lots of children and we didn't want to risk having anymore issues given how busy we were going to be and how difficult it already had been moving them around. I begin calling the office at 8:30am, the run around continues into the next day, and we are left waiting around with packed bags and cranky children till noon. I beg them to just moves us to the other resort, we are told a move to this new location would require approval by management. They tell me to move everything out of the substitute unit, and go back to our original unit while they iron everything out. The good news the a/c is fixed, head to the pool and beach... she will contact us soon. Crickets. Nothing all day! I had the forethought to take pictures of the thermostat all day, as it continued to climb in temperature. The unit was not fixed, between 12-5pm it ran non stop. It climbed from 69-76. We kept the doors and curtains closed, and never even touched the thermostat afraid WE would then be blaimed for it breaking. I called the office back and told them, they said a manager would have to speak to me. Nothing, at all. The office closed, no one called me back. We choose at that point to drive home. I texted with the after hours number all the pictures of the thermostat, the mess of wet towels and a piece of my mind. The run around continued with everything from suggestions of calling the Sand Dunes resorts front desk to see if they could accomodate us, to let's move you to the Forest Dunes place now. Well, who would trust them now?? We lost a whole day and a half, we had children heart broken that had to leave there beach getaway and two mothers that moved their kids four times in 24 hours. The entire experience must have taken a few years off my life! This says nothing to the fact that the unit was left dirty by the repairman, mold in the bathrooms, and broken elevators to boot, and not a luggage cart to be found in the whole place. I find this company to be unethical, rude, and they should be downright ashamed of taking money from customers they have no desire to serve. read more

Avoid these criminals like the plague! I made the mistake of renting through them because they assured me I could park my motorcycle on the same level as my condo. When I tried to do this I was threatened by resort staff with towing my motorcycle if I didn't move it to the designated motorcycle parking area in a totally different structure across the street. I contacted Ocean Breeze Beach personnel who basically told me that they were unaware of the rule regarding motorcycle parking so therefore it's not their fault and they're not obligated to make it right. My girlfriends and I vacationed in Myrtle Beach July 13-17, 2017. We booked through Ocean Breeze Vacation Rentals. We rented Avista #105. Upon arrival we found that the bathroom was filthy; pubic hair on toilet, sink and shower. Toothpaste was still left in the sink as well. I told my girlfriend who took the lead on calling about issues and she reported it immediately along with other areas of dirt and filthiness around the condo--including trash left under the beds, silverware tray and silverware with caked on food, walls that had what I assume was chocolate on them, etc. She was never informed that anyone was coming to clean upon complaint so we went ahead and deep cleaned everything to sanitize and create a cleaner environment for our stay. (We had young children with us so what they get their little hands on, was at the mercy of the previous renters and Ocean Breeze who should have immediately offered to come out and clean the areas needed but they never did!!) Later that evening we were getting ready for bed and we found that there wasn't enough sheets or blankets for the two extra beds. By then the office was closed so we took note and winged it until morning. The next morning the attempt to make coffee was halted due to stale, left behind coffee grounds in the pot. Then we attempted to wash the towels because they smelled moldy and we found that the washer/dryer combo wasn't working properly and the linens wouldn't dry. That left us with wet towels the whole weekend. My girlfriend called to report these issues a long with requesting a second key for the third time (there was 8 of us only one key given) and they said they would be by to give it to us... But as they claimed, "we came by but you weren't there." If so, then leave items at the front desk or call one of us to come back to the room, maybe? Nope. She had to call again 2 more times and the lady was very rude and finally about 5:00pm on the second day we got bed sheets and a key but not w/o attitude. As the weekend progress the frustrations of being in the condo grew more and after listing all that WE did to make our stay comfortable my girlfriend has since been trying to contact Ocean Breeze. One lady called her a liar and tried to blame us for everything, another (The owner, Karen) won't take her calls... A compensation in some fashion should be a priority considering the next renters are reaping the benefits of our stay as we did everything we were supposed to make sure the condo was left deep cleaned, safe and as it should if you were to stay in any rental, especially when it cost a substantial amount to stay given the condition of the room and severe lack of costumer service. I wish I didn't have to give a star at all... They don't deserve it. Do not use Ocean Breeze... It's not worth the hassle. read more

If I could give this company a negative star rating I would. The customer service they have their is pathetic. Whoever answers the phone their had an attitude every time I called/they called. Actually, the ONLY time she called was in regards to security deposit fees they claimed were not responded to (literally resent the exact same email, with time stamps while she was on the phone to prove we had). We left a brand new diaper bag chalked full of sleep time, and swim time diapers, baby towels, and a brand new life vest sitting by the door at the unit (our fault, I know) the bag apparently disappeared into thin air - when I asked for a returned phone call after they spoke with the cleaning supervisor you would have thought I personally asked this woman to drive to the beach and check the unit - two days later, no call back - followed up with her again she said that all of the lost and found items were turned in on site, the supervisor i was waiting on a call from never comes into the office, and they do not have my belongings. Hope whoever stole our brand new babies' diaper bag was in more need than we were. This company is an absolute joke - and we're cancelling the next two trips back with them we had scheduled for the summer. Don't waste your time. read more

My wife and I rented a unit from Ocean Breeze Beach Vacations from after Thanksgiving to mid December. We arrived and found that we were not satisfied with the unit we initially rented and contacted Ocean Breeze and Journi was very helpful. She immediately moved us to a unit of our choice from the available units and made sure we were happy. Upon arrival at the new location we found the deadbolt to not function and Journi sent out a maintenance man to replace it quickly. The condo we ended up in was Sand Dunes 2626 and it was a comfortable oceanfront unit. It has electronic entry so no keys to worry about. The furnishings were not new but in good condition and the unit was clean with a well stocked kitchen. The small balcony accommodated two people in the provided chairs and the LR and small bar height eating table overlook the ocean. The views from the balcony were great. You can see past Apache Pier to the North and past the Boardwalk to the South. There are 2 hot tubs and an indoor pool which were available and appeared well maintained. There are also an outdoor pool with lazy river and water park outdoors which are seasonal. The bedroom with 2 full size beds is at the entry end and you cannot see the ocean from the BR. I would say this unit is best suited for a couple and would be a little tight if kids came along and were to use the sleeper sofa. Dino/s restaurant in the adjacent sister (Ocean Sands hotel) has good breakfast and lunch served and is oceanfront. There is a small convenience store on ground level in the Sand Dunes bldg. and we shopped frequently for sandwiches, cappuccino, and snacks. The bar/restaurant within the Sand Dunes bldg. was closed for the winter. Probably less than 10% occupancy rate in the resort during this period so I don't blame them for not being open. The hotel is on 74th Ave. North so is not far from restaurant row and Tanger's Outlet mall. Overall the condo was probably a 4 star rating at best but I rated it 5 star because of the oceanfront view, resort amenities, and the customer service that was provided from Ocean Breeze Vacations. I would recommend Ocean Breeze Vacations because they address any concerns immediately and want to ensure you enjoy your stay. read more

We stayed at the Sands Ocean club #219. It's stated it was a newly renovated condo that was fully equipped and ready to use for eating in or going out. The paint on the condo was peeling off the walls moldings and doors. There were several things broken or did not work and maintenance never fixed them while we were here. All the furniture was very worn and paint was peeling off the dining chairs.There were very few pans to use in the kitchen for cooking. It's stated the unit would sleep six but there were no linens or pillowd supplied for the sofa bed. Very disappointed in the unit. read more

Booked Oceans One Resort from Oceans Breeze in March 2018 and it was very dirty and poor customer service. Hair trimmed in the sink. Dirty carpet, dust bunnies. Stay away. They really lower the bar anyone in the hospitality and vacation property field. read more

Beware of this property! My reservation here was for the week that the hurricane of Sept 2018 came through. There was an evacuation order. The aftermath of the storm was flooding in NC as well as SC. I called the SC department of transportation to check on flooding. I was told not to drive to SC because I would be turned back due to flooding. The property policy clearly stated that a refund would be given if there was an evacuation order. The property gave us 24 hours to change our reservation to another time in 2018. We had no vacation left in 2018. When we tried to work with management we were told to bad so sad. My $750.00 was not refunded and I could not convince them to let me have another reservation date in 2019. I booked this reservation through VRBO. VRBO said they could not do anything for us because they cannot speak for the property. Why use VRBO if they cannot assist with these kind of issues? I would recommend that no one use Ocean Breeze Beach Vacations or VRBO. In my opinion both of these organizations are dishonest! read more
