I'm not sure why we don't come here more often. This is the second time in several years. We always really enjoy our meals! We were here for lunch, about 11:30am on a Tuesday. We were the first ones here, but it quickly filled up. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. We split an order of crab rangoons YUM! The lunch special included a choice of egg drop soup (very good) and hot & sour soup, an eggroll or crab rangoon and the entree. What they called an eggroll I would have called a spring roll. It was delicious! The egg drop soup was also very good. My husband had the Kung Pao Chicken, which he loved! I had the shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp was delicious! I should know better by now not to order broccoli. It's always too crisp/raw for me. The outside of the building shows that it used to be a bank many years ago. This was discovered during a tornado that tore through Marshalltown. I'm so glad they retained it and didn't cover it up again. The lunch specials are very reasonable! read more

We like Ocean City, great food. They are fast and easy to order, rather you're dinning in or get it to go. Traditional dishes, always fresh and flavorful. Service is very friendly, dine in option is nice with plenty of seating. Ambiance is casual but nice and clean. We recommend them when in Marshalltown. read more

This restaurant is usually quite busy during normal meal hours. We call in pick up or delivery.com orders often. The Food is Always hot and fresh. They're friendly and check on you appropriately. Stopped in for a bite with family for dinner. Overall I was impressed and would return. Appetizer: Pan fried dumplings. Egg drop soup. Fried dumplings are one of my favorite foods and I get them whenever I can from wherever I am. The filling here was larger than most I have had and they were prepared correctly and as should be expected. The egg in the egg drop soup was over whipped making it very thin but still flavorful overall. Main: Eel achacado Roll. Shrimp tempura Roll. Sesame chicken dinner portion. White rice. Sushi needs a little work still as the Eel Avocado Roll lacked the fresh taste you'd expect and I don't think the eel was grilled to order. The shrimp tempura was very good, large and very fresh. Sesame chicken was crispy and the portion was large. The sauce was very thick even when warm and very sugary, not a bad thing but could have been better. Overall it was a good experience and I would be happy to go back again when in the area. read more

Good good, value, and service. Marshalltown has a good number of Asian restaurants. Most of them are not particularly good. This is one of three in town that I will patronize, and it is the best of the three. Compared to what is locally available, Ocean City is the tastiest, freshest, and best value by a longshot. It is especially a great place for lunch. My Kung Pao Chicken (pictured) for lunch was $5.95 and included my choice of white or fried rice, soup or salad, and egg roll or crab rangoon. And I received it in 8.5 minutes. BTW, for those like me who love hot and sour soup but hold high standards for iy, this is the BEST I have had anywhere in the country (I travel extensively). The staff here are also always friendly, well staffed, and attentive and they speak adequate English clearly. So if you have a hankering for Chinese in Marshalltow, this is the place to come. I am selective in awarding 5 stars, so my 4 star rating is ecellent. 5 stars for me would mean it was one of the best in the country. read more

One of the MUST visit places in Marshalltown. The sushi is some of the best anywhere. We're "locals" but since the restaurant started serving sushi, we feel like we live in a big city!!! We used to drive to Des Moines to get sushi of this caliber but as soon as Des Moines people lean of this new option, they'll be driving here! Sooooooo amazing! Very good food. I really enjoyed this place. I liked that there were sushi options. The restaurant was clean and the staff was nice.

Showed up on co-worker's recommendation while on a business trip. Place was picked at lunch, but we still were sat right away and had our drinks quickly. Despite half the place being taken up by a large group, our orders were taken promptly and we had our soup in moments. BTW - If you're a fan of egg drop soup, this place does a great job. Prices are extremely reasonable (it was about $8 for a lunch special with soup, rice and wanton). I went with the sweet and sour chicken and it was pretty good. Not mind-blowing, but definitely worth the price and a good portion size. read more

Absolutely amazing restaurant, generous portions and the flavors are amazing, for great prices too, with a very large menu that absolutely has something you'll love. My favorite dish is the Szechuan pork, I recommend that, and their wonton soup is also very good. The staff is pretty good, usually lets you eat in peace for the most part (by that I mean they don't check up on you too often, which I don't mind, and I mean in no way for this to be an insult) By far the best Chinese restaurant in Marshalltown and the ONLY one of the three that are here you should consider. read more

This is probably the best Chinese in Marshalltown (not saying that's a lot, since there is only Chef King and Hyvee chinese if you aren't eating here). It is pretty standard as Chinese food goes -- the same stuff that you'd find in most cities. Been here a few times.i do like their main food. The part I didn't like no veggie egg rolls. I don't eat pork. It isn't Chinese without veggie egg rolls. My friend loves it so we often go here for her. I don't mind because the moo shu veggies is really good. Just have to ask for extra plum sauce though. read more

Last night, we went to Ocean City at our daughter's request (early birthday meal). It wasn't terribly busy. The food is always good but last night we had absolutely terrible service. We waited 30+ minutes for soup and one was not what we ordered. We also received half of our appetizers. Shortly after, our daughter's dish came out along with the wrong type of rice. Mind you, there were other tables around us that received their entire order and had arrived after we were seated. The to-go orders were also being handed out but I did notice that other people were receiving the wrong orders. I saw one person that I know come back into the restaurant to get the food that he paid for and had to wait. We waited another 20 minutes for our sushi and then another 10-15 for my fiance's dish. By the time he received his meal, everyone else was finished with their food. This is usually a great place to eat but I must say that every time we come, there is usually one person waiting tables. They need to step it up! No reason for such poor service. It sure didn't feel like a $58 meal and I felt no reason to leave a tip. I ALWAYS tip, even when it's slow. This was unacceptable. I should have complained but I didn't want to make a scene on such an occasion. We paid our bill and left. read more

Ocean City is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited. Their food is very delicious. Their Hot & Sour Soup is great. This is not a buffet type restaurant, and you can actually order from a menu. I have had a few dishes. I guess I would say that my favorite so far is Szechuan Shrimp.
