The salesman, whose an older chubby Vietnamese guy, I simply asked him very nicely what color the cat eye nail gel turns after it's cured and he answered me very rudely saying "you're kinda slow, huh". I had this place bookmarked because I have recently started doing my own nails. This place is hidden in plain sight, you may pass it once or twice but it is on Crenshaw right next to 147th st. You have to ring two different doorbells to be buzzed in. I rang like four times because they were in the back talking. Once you walk in, it is towers of nail supply products. It is small and cramped and the staff will squeeze past you to refill supplies. I got a white nail polish and couldnt stay in the small aisles much longer. I searched for the dip powders but they were $8-$9.50 for the regular size, i believe an oz or a bit smaller. I was looking for the .34 oz so i can practice but they had none available. I found a small one in a box one of the ladies directed me to and the brand was something with an O. I wont try that again. All in all, the place was cool, a little pricey for a beginner but it could work for you read more

I'm all for the soak off to remove my gel and dip easily and then the blue cross cuticle remover. They have so many gel brands and colors but I just bought a few new regular polish colors. I came in Thursday 2/11/21 and sooo glad I did because they did close the next day Friday 2/12/21 due to Chinese New Year celebration.They did announce on Thursday and all week leading to this date. This store DOES stand up for the hype in variety of brand and colors. The price is very reasonable (not expensive). The store will carry anything you need. Please keep in mind the workers are ONLY there to stock and watch that no one steals. They will NOT help you. They are told to direct any questions to the owner (cashier). They have parking in the front and rear of the location. I will certainly be back and spend my coins here. 1 star less because if it's packed and the owner is ringing up people - you are on your own. She didn't let me purchase my items with my debit card without an ID which i've never been required by any store to show my ID when purchasing with my DEBIT card!! i felt so discriminated against she treated me almost like i was a thief and it wasn't MY card. It's a good thing I allowed extra time to browse around. There were plenty of nail accessories & supplies for manicures, pedicures, tips, all types of files, decor, colors and gels galore. The gentleman that helped me in the front was very hospitable and he answered all the questions that I asked from brands to products. They have a minimum $10 purchase for credit charges. I was tempted to buy a lot of stuff. There's so many glitters and powders and nail decor items. Unfortunately i had alot of hope for this small business and they have pretty decent supplies, but it didnt work out like that. I came rang the doorbell twice nobody acknowledged me, i was saying excuse me at the door the people were at the register and kind of just ignored i was there. A man finally opened the door after 5 minutes didnt greet me. then when i came in i only needed clear acrylic but i couldnt find it so i was looking very obviously confused and lost, they just glanced at me and just kept going about their day then i finally found it got in line and stood there for 10 minutes the customer up there and the cashier was just talking and taking their sweet time looking at drill bits. All i was getting was 1 acrylic i should not have had to stand there that long and the cashier kept looking at me and turning away not apologizing for the wait or nothing. Then i just said forget it was walking back twords the exit where all the acrylics were to put the acrylic back that i picked up but all their eyes was locked on me at that point as if i was going to steal. They can all stare at me walking out but when im shopping nobody could acknowledge me....?? Thats crazy. I feel as tho i was racially profiled because im a young black male and thats not ok that being said i will never go back they will never get my business i absolutely prefer the NAIL LAB in downtown. I travel out of the way to shop here. They have a every color gel and lacquer possible but only a few brands. The prices are fair. So much glitter, chrome powders, latest effects. Any and every tool imaginable. I only gave four stars bc of how small this place is. It's tiny. If there's more than two customers in there, it's hard to navigate the aisles. Everyone bumps into each other. If there's more then two people checking out, it takes forever. Nothing has barcodes on it. But it's worth it! I've come to this supply store for several years now and they always have good prices that you can't beat. I'm just a bit concerned because I noticed on my receipt that the cashier wrote down my drivers license on the receipt. She asks for Id to verify my credit card but was completely uncomfortable that she did that. I went back after I noticed and the owner said it's per their policy due to credit card frauds. Other girls told me that they also took down their numbers and other women said they hadn't. I'm not sure I'm coming back here with any debit or credit card. Doesn't seem right to do that. OK so I did not realize that this gem of a place was literally around the corner from my house lately I've been kind of in a creative funk and looking for both way to save money from going to the salon every two weeks to get my nails done, but also just as a creative outlet so I decided to like many others try my own hand at doing my nails. Watched a lot of YouTube videos and also bought a bunch of stuff on Amazon, I really wish I had known about this store before I did that because I came in for the first time yesterday and they literally have everything I could imagine that I would ever want or need to do my own nails. Only it was a whole vibe in there. The music was bumping and John was in there cleaning up and organizing the store while also helping me find whatever I need. I really appreciate the fact that he looked at me sideways several times when I was trying to buy some thing that I did not need for my level of skill I was definitely in over my head and he kind of kept me in Check so that I didn't spend my whole paycheck which I really really appreciated lol. I went back today because I wanted to buy some extra things to practice with and I needed some rhinestones and nail glue. Of course I ended up buying more than I anticipated but it was 100% because I was just excited and now I am pretty well stocked to try anything my little heart desires and again John was great companywhile I shocked, so thankful that I found this place definitely come here. read more

This place is awesome. I was looking for a shop that sells Essie polishes at wholesale prices to the public. THIS is the place. They have a huge selection of Essie colors, including all of the 2015 collections. They also have tons of nail art stuff, tools, files, and other brands of polish. Essie polishes were a great price. The more you buy the less you pay. 1 polish = $5.50/each, 3 polishes = $5/each, 6 polishes = $4.50/each. They also have a final sale box where you can find random Essie polishes for $2/each!! Super friendly lady was working the counter and around the shop. Unlike other places I have been, I did not feel like I was being followed around the store, which was nice. Also, my 4-year old son was with me and needed to use the bathroom -- normally in a tiny shop like that you will be told no, but they showed us the bathroom, not a problem.
