My mother was a resident at Seaview in the memory care unit until her passing. She received…read moreexcellent care 24/7. My family visited often and observed that the residents were clean, fed well, and given many appropriate activities. We saw a very compassionate team of care givers. At the end of 2019, we moved my father from another assisted living facility to Seaview. He has a lovely studio in the assisted living area and has been very happy there. The food is really good, especially for an institutional environment. He is 98 1/2 and participates in some of the activities. With the COVID 19 pandemic, Seaview took all the precautions to keep their residents and workers safe. It has been extremely difficult for my Dad. He is a people person and doesn't handle isolation well, so at this moment he is very depressed. Even family members are not allowed to visit. They are not even allowed into the building. Residents must eat meals in their rooms. My Dad needs a hug. I want to thank and applaud Seaview for their tough stance in this pandemic. I am in Canada, and across this country, elderly care facilities are a disaster. Half of the deaths are in these facilities. Workers were not being careful, didn't practice distancing, often didn't have appropriate safety gear like masks, gloves, gowns. COVID 19 spread like wildfire. Some workers walked off the jobs leaving residents to die of lack of food, water, medicine, and any care. It is appalling, shameful, and a "moral failure". The government is begging skilled people to deploy to these facilities. It is heart breaking! I talk with my Dad every couple of days. He is extremely lonely and depressed, but I ask him to be thankful he is in a facility like Seaview that is doing everything possible to prevent any COVID 19 cases. The actions are difficult, but necessary. Please Seaview, maintain your vigilance.

Smelly overflowing dumpsters. They put a smoking tent under my bedroom window. They are loud and…read moresmelly. They lied about why they can't move it down. Claiming resident parking. When only staff use those spots. The residents are loud, disrespectful at all hours. They chain-smoke when my Son is fully allergic and do not care. I cannot block the smell or noise by shutting my windows because I have built in air conditioning on both floors. So it flows right into my home. They are blocking the front of the dumpster. The workers cannot access it. They are dumping trash literally over their residents heads. Blocking the garbage man. Food and diapers and all. Are usually overflowing out both dumpsters as if that stinky view wasn't horrible enough. Now I am bombarded with smoke, noise and a spot light in my bedroom and living room window. Horrible. I filed a complaint with OSHA I am sure it is a complete violation to block the dumpster and put them beside it that close. They refuse to move their smoking tent down 20 feet. No class. No standards. A nice building where atrocious practices are encouraged. While staff sneaks around doing drugs in the parking lot. Standards Low to No. I've worked at Skylark, Mountain View and a few other facilities as a caregiver and a med aide. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Grants Pass Holiday Retirement.

My father has been there for one week for an infection and strengthening. His bedside commode was…read morefull of the same urine and feces for three days (Sunday through Tuesday), twice we saw staff members enter his room without the contact isolation precautions (gown and gloves), and he started to develop a bedsore. They wouldn't put a chair in his room for him to sit in because of the infection, but as someone who worked skilled nursing for 8 years, I know that's only because they didn't want to have to clean it thoroughly after he is discharged. He's now off contact isolation, and PT and OT say he's doing great and "good to go," but social services (Jeanette) said that they are keeping him until next Tuesday (although he does NOT have a skilled need any longer). This is UNACCEPTABLE. He is being discharged to a local assisted living facility, where he will be living with his wife. We are getting him out of there him out of there ASAP! The only staff worth their salary are the Admissions Coordinator, PT and OT. If you care about your relatives, do NOT let them go there!

Also the day she passed the staff left for hours to grocery shop and there was no one there to medicate my sister at a crucial time for anxiety her heart rate was 150 . She suffered unnecessarily. Overall the staff was kind and the place was clean.

Each resident has a call button they wear that pages staff to their room. They have a nice dining area and a grassy patio. Residents appear to mostly be in individual rooms. For prescription management they have 24 hour med tech on duty and a carefully managed system. They also have a memory care unit for seniors who need additional care. They have good working relationships wire doctors. It was hard for my dad to leave his house after a stroke, but now he calls Addie Meedum home. It is worth mentioning again, the staff are great.
