Other products are a little bit of everything, including Latin foods, canned goods, kitchenware, syria soap, beans, rice (Egyptian, Basmati, etc), spices, dates, snacks, tea, turkish coffee. Some of the frozen/refrigerated foods include smoked herring, bacon, biscuits, falafel, grated soursop, melted chocolate, mac and cheese with langoustine, Norwegian salmon, sausages, calamari, gelato, Turkish bagels, gyro slices, samosas, kebab, chicken patties, Lahmajun bread, lavash, plain paratha, frozen veggies and herbs including Okra, molokhia herb, broad beans, baklava, kunefe, cheeses. Shelf products include Ghee ($8.99 for 14 oz), Tahini sesame paste ($5.99 for 16 oz or $8.99 for 32 oz or $21.99 for eight pounds), Egyptian rice, basmati rice, different flours like chickpea, almond, cassava, coconut, whole wheat, Jareesh (crushed wheat), cauliflower rice, small packaged noodles, lupini beans, jarred pacaya, vermicelli, basbousa boxed mix. There are a lot of different and interesting spices, such as Chinese pine nuts, dried limes, mahshi spice, lebanese spices (shawarma, kibby, sumac, kafta, ouzi), yemeni hot chili pepper, black roasted onions, yemen spice, Zaatar, as well as Karkaday Egyptian Hibiscus tea flowers. I tried this pastry made from Karen bakery in New Jersey, warmed up in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350°. It was plain, but very good-flaky and buttery. The bread would go perfect with tea for an afternoon snack or small breakfast meal. Also tried frozen falafel (Ziyad brand) and baked it, even though it called for deep frying (trying to be healthy you know). They were cute little circular shaped falafel, about 1.75 in diameter and about half an inch thick. Although I prefer a ball shaped size, it did have good flavor. If there's a product you're looking for and they don't have it, the owner is willing to see if he can get it for you. I look forward to coming back when the bakery and restaurant opens. Side note: ask permission if you want to take any pictures. The owner was not happy or friendly towards me taking close up pictures of his products while browsing the store, regardless of the reason. I didn't have the greatest shopping experience. So if you want to try to remember the name of the product, best to write it down on a notepad instead of taking a picture. But then again, he might not like that either.

I really enjoyed my fried flounder sandwich! The fish was moist, flaky and flavorful. The breading wasn't too heavy and was seasoned well. It paired very well with the simple coleslaw. Hubby's po'boy was overflowing with tasty fried shrimp. He loved the addition of tangy, spicy peppers. The french fries had a perfect crisp and were salted well. We also tried some of my brother-in-law's hushpuppies which were yummy. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. It was a successful lunch for our group!

My biggest frustration is the service at the fish counter. It often feels like customers are standing there waiting without anyone acknowledging them. On more than one visit, I've waited 15 minutes or longer before someone seemed to notice I was there. I've found that the best way to get helped is to go to the register first and tell the cashier what you'd like. If the customer service and organization at the counter improved, this would easily be one of the best seafood markets in Wilmington. Great seafood, but the wait and lack of acknowledgment can make the experience hit-or-miss.

She told me which of her items are local, and which are brought in... where most of them come from.. it was amazing.. For a chef, this place is great, I could even ask for specific parts and cuts of fish and come back later for them. I only had 20$ on me at the time, and wanted some Carolina shrimp.. which left me with a small amount of cash left over, I asked her to pick a piece of fish for me, just to sear up and eat while I prepared the Shrimp for dinner... She handed me a piece of Mahi much, much larger than my few extra dollars would purchase.. I cannot wait to get back here and make dinner again!

This varies based on what they can get. Sea bass and flounder seem to always be available when I have been there. Regarding the fish, you can buy it whole and take it home, or you can have Ronnie's filet it for you. I have always opted for getting my fish filleted so I don't have to deal with cleaning it. Fresh (live) crabs and oysters are a staple here. They also have fresh shrimp (heads on or off). You pay more for the headless shrimp. Trust me, it is easy to pull the heads off so save your money. Look for frozen seafood as well. It's not on display but they have signs stating what is available. The prices are very good. This is my go to place now for fresh seafood. Parking is street parking. Ronnie's takes cash or credit/debit cards.
