We stopped here for fresh fish and went home with some sort of snapper :|. We wanted red snapper but they were all huge and would have been way too much for two. We also bought some tuna. All was wonderful until we asked that the snapper be filleted - this took upwards of 30 minutes because they worker was just learning how to fillet. We had a scheduled tour that we were late for and didn't even get to go home first to put the fish away (thank goodness we had a cooler)! I'm all about training and teaching, but maybe just ask the customer if they have a little extra time to wait for the staff to be trained while filleting your order. read more

This is our 2nd Seaview Crab Seafood market of the day. I would say this market is super clean, well organized and doesn't smell fishy. This market offers more in bait and tackle. They have live minnows when you first come in. They have fishing poles and other bait options. They too didn't have any black bass so we didn't make a purchase. This place is great! They were roasting oysters when we got there and spent a good deal of time teaching us to cook oyster clusters on the grill -they were a hit. we also got some class and mussels,w which were fresh and tasty. The shrimp was as good as it gets -fresh and plump. Wish I could shop there weekly and not live so far away! read more

The 2 soft shell crab I fried upon opening the package, was a totally tasteless, even when fried in butter. It's a complete waste of my $98. The rest are going in the garbage. They are the only bad soft shells I've ever had. I certainly wouldn't believe any positive reviews on Seaview's site. I might as well have tried to fry some news paper. read more

The team is very helpful - on our trip Andrew, Tyler and Jeff made recommendations, cleaned our selections, vacuum packed them for transport home and provided everything with a smile. As a native Marylander who now lives in the desert, I was craving some fresh seafood, especially fried oysters. This place did not disappoint. Along with the She-view Crab Soup, this meal was outstanding. A very basic place, you order your meal from the friendly person at the "restaurant" counter, then try to grab one of the few indoor (it was pouring rain outside) picnic tables. The food comes out hot and fresh. You can also purchase the seafood raw and have it cooked there. Not fancy, but a "must visit" if you are a seafood lover and find yourself in Wilmington. read more

I have ordered a dozen of the No. 1 Jimmies from them several times, and each time every crab was full. The price is one of the best you can get in my area for blue crabs. I also like that they always give atleast 2-3 extra crabs in the box. Also, the shrimp they sell are very fresh and big. read more

OMG! This place is great! Best locally caught fish and shrimp, clams, oysters! Cajun Alligator Sausage and Soft Shell Crabs available year round in the freezer, they also sell the corn meal, crab boil, and other necessary ingredients for a fish fry or a crab/shrimp boil! Staff here is very friendly and communicative, which I can't say for their 17th St. Location. The Outdoor Market next door is open from April to Labor Day weekend, they are more expensive than the local grocery stores,but sometimes the Blackberries and Blueberries are the best in town! read more

A few things make it stand out: - variety of fish: I haven't seen many places in NC that sell blue crab by the dozen and crawfish by the pound - great displays, the fish look like they are swimming or posing - the fact that anything fresh can be cooked to order and eaten on site. read more

I really love the one on Market Street at Biggers Market. The guy that works there with long hair is so nice and always friendly. He has given me oysters to taste and their food is always amazing. Purchased a freezer burned bag of OLD crawfish with rotten unpalatable; unrecognizable meat. The customer service was horrible and rude and refused to refund our hard earned money. I hope the owners are aware that their employees lost the respect of a 5+ year loyal customer. I shop here at least once a week, and they always have a large selection of fresh seafood that is hard to find elsewhere. The specials and prices are also some of the best around, especially compared to what I was used to up North. I love that it's a close drive off the island, and you can call ahead to see what they have in before you go. Man oh man! This place won the toss up with another seafood market and it paid off. Purchased fresh grouper, fresh jumbo shrimp and a container of jumbo lump crab meat. This rating is only for the grouper that was just demolished. The grouper was super fresh you can smell it. No seasoning or sauce needed to enjoy this fish! I tried this pastry made from Karen bakery in New Jersey, warmed up in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350°. It was plain, but very good-flaky and buttery. The bread would go perfect with tea for an afternoon snack or small breakfast meal. Also tried frozen falafel (Ziyad brand) and baked it, even though it called for deep frying (trying to be healthy you know). They were cute little circular shaped falafel, about 1.75 in diameter and about half an inch thick. Although I prefer a ball shaped size, it did have good flavor. If there's a product you're looking for and they don't have it, the owner is willing to see if he can get it for you. I look forward to coming back when the bakery and restaurant opens. Side note: ask permission if you want to take any pictures. The owner was not happy or friendly towards me taking close up pictures of his products while browsing the store, regardless of the reason. I didn't have the greatest shopping experience. So if you want to try to remember the name of the product, best to write it down on a notepad instead of taking a picture. But then again, he might not like that either.

For a chef, this place is great, I could even ask for specific parts and cuts of fish and come back later for them. I only had 20$ on me at the time, and wanted some Carolina shrimp.. which left me with a small amount of cash left over, I asked her to pick a piece of fish for me, just to sear up and eat while I prepared the Shrimp for dinner... Seaview Crab Company, Spring Lake, NC Almost 2 years ago a little roadside stand popped up in Spout Springs. Not the first around here, but they weren't setting in a lawn chair by the back of some pickup selling shrimp from somewhere east of here. Nathan was pretty much by himself then. Yeah, those of us that go know him by name. He knows us too. If not by name then by something special. A great sign of a good salesman. So I stopped in and get some oysters. Fresh, live, salty wonderful oysters. Only a dozen though. Got to test them out. At home in the bag, 13 oysters. They make sure that we are taken care of in case of a 'Mudder' or one that is just a little too small. WOW. Since then I have found myself eating every bit of fresh seafood possible from them. Oysters, salmon multiple types), tuna, conch, scallops, clams, crabs are a few and none have ever disappointed. I also snatch up lobster tails and snow crab legs almost every stop. Always getting that little extra to make sure to we get what we paid for. Someday soon I'm going to visit the store at the coast. Just so I can see where it all happens. These guys offer a great product for reasonable prices. They are what the country was built on. Local, quality products offered with excellent customer service at prices you just can't beat. read more

Went to Seaview on Monday Nov. 25th 2024 and purchased a bushel of oysters. Got home at Oak Island with them. Noticed that some of them were were open (bad news). Opened 10 of the ones that were not already open. All 10 of them were completely dry inside (another bad sign). Ended up throwing the entire GD bushel in the intra coastal waterway. If it would not have entailed an hour and a half round trip drive I would have taken them back to the store. Come on guys, you know when oysters are past their sale time. Get rid of them instead of selling them off. Shame on you. I will never buy oysters in the shell at Seaview again. Bill D. read more

Absolutely unhappy w order. Raw oysters were 25% bad or just no meat only mud. Or undersized. Crab cakes pricey and full of crabshell, shrimp for grits was unusable, pile of mush w one old unusable green onion. No response from co to my refrained comments 2×.
