So at other massage places they ask where you want the focus on, then they start somewhere else anyways and actually spend like an extra 1 minute on your focus. I always hated that, it feels like wasted time and money. Tony actually listened to where I wanted my focus (shoulders and neck), said "say no more" and proceeded to work on that area for the majority of the session. He did focus on the rest of the body too but I really needed that specialization. He brought out Thai, Swedish, hot stones and anything else to really alleviate the pain I had. They got us in within an hour of calling. This is obviously not going to have the same upscale setting as a casino spa. It's very small, but they're very attentive. We were able to be in the same room. My therapist could tell how tight my back was and had to walk on it and jump even, ha! But she was able to loosen enough to get it cracked a few times. Connie is the best. I go at least once a month for 90 minutes and she can take care of all of the really bad knots and sore areas in my lower back. I'm sure she can do a relaxing massage however what I need is more on the side of physical therapy and stretching side, so she really gets in there with her elbows and feet to work out the really bad areas. I moved to Vegas from California where I lived right by the beach so I guess it's only fitting that I gravitate towards the Ocean Spa, right? I had already visited a couple of massage places in Chinatown and I wasn't too impressed, but the masseuse at Ocean Spa gave me one of the best massages. Now this isn't one of those let me rub you softly type of massages that you can get anywhere. I would equate the massage I received more to a sports massage, which is exactly what I needed. I opted for the 30-minute massage which was perfect for me because masseuses tend to go deeper with sports massages. Right off the bat, I was asked where I had tension. This hadn't happened at any of the places I've visited here in Vegas. Color me happy! I explained I was having lots of pain in my neck and shoulder since I sit at a computer for 9 hours a day. The masseuse focused mainly on my and later explained how I also had a tight lower back. Having had many massages throughout the years I understand that it's all connected but what I'm feeling massive pain I just want them to listen to where I want to be massaged. Connie did just that. I loved it! After the massage, i did feel a little sore. Again, something that you're familiar with if you tend to hold a lot of tension and frequent massage parlors. I went home to rest, slept it off and then the next morning my back and neck area were still a little sore. I jumped in the shower and shortly thereafter my body was absolutely painless. This coming after months and months of having dizziness and tension in my neck area. Thank God for Connie! During our massage, she had noticed that I just had some cupping and she explained that they offer cupping at their Spa. I thought that was great I usually treck over to Chinatown to get cupping. now all I have to do is go around the corner to Ocean Spa for My cupping fix. Ocean Spa is a new business. It's located in the strip mall close to the entrance to Rhodes ranch on Fort Apache. I really like the lights that they had in the massage rooms and the massage tables were so comfortable. You have no idea how uncomfortable all the massage tables in Chinatown are. You have to struggle to find a comfortable area to place your face in the hole. Tables are hard and always wished your boobs. Not Ocean Spa massage tables. They felt great! I Would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. One caveat if you use the directions via Yelp oh, then you might be Miss directed. First you fill out a form and basically let them know where you have focus areas and what kind of pressure. You are on a bed in a private room and they focus on your back first. She was even stepping on my back and had great technique. Massage, then oil, then Hot stones, and at end they put a heating pad with the warm stones on your back and massage your legs and feet. My spouse and I got the $60 Yelp Family special which includes full body, hot stones, and essential oil treatment! (Basically a couples massage) I have not gotten a massage since 2018 & last went to another local place here in town (pure foot). And I am so happy I found Ocean Spa! The facility was very clean and we at no point felt uncomfortable (unlike some places which can feel a bit sketchy). As soon as we arrived, we were greated by the friendly receptionist. We filled out the paperwork & immediately was put in a massage room. Connie worked on my 270lbs fluffy frame and turned me into a tender ribeye steak... She had great hands! Perfect pressure! She even ended up standing on my back and SKILLFULLY massaged me with her feet... IT WAS AMAZING! The hot stones were HOT and INTENSE! And I loved it! Came here after seeing some great reviews. I've been super stressed lately, so I knew that my back and shoulders needed some TLC. It's in a rather unassuming location, and kind of hard to spot in all honesty. However, I walked out a different person. They had us fill out a form where we mentioned our goals for the massage, if we wanted a more relaxing massage or a deep tissue style, where we wanted them to concentrate, and the strength that we wanted. I asked for the hardest strength and a deep tissue massage, and it seemed to be a mix of deep tissue and Swedish. Regardless, it was so relaxing and relieving. I was noticeably tense, with lots of huge knots and tension around my shoulders and neck, and he definitely took care of that. I felt immediate relief once I walked out.
