I've only been shopping at this location 4 times and today's finds were so worthwhile. With Easter coming soon, my goal is always to gift my sons with something to remind them of their dad and the love he had for them before he passed away. Ocean State Job Lot didn't not disappoint! I found food from Italy that I could only find at an Italian shop in Pennsylvania. What a great experience not just for me but to remind my sons that though their dad is no longer here, they can still enjoy things that he used to buy for them. Price is on point as well. Customer service was fantastic. Krystal (cute pink and blue hair!!) was super talkative and shared a few things about her shopping experience there as well. She was great at what she does, made me feel comfortable talking and left me with a smile. All in all a great shopping experience! read more

This store is technically brand new. It has been in this plaza for years and years. Recently, it moved over to where Bradlees used to be. Now, Bradlees, you must be thinking, the old, old store that used to be around in the 90's. Answer: YES. YET, This place has been renovated incredibly and now this Job Lot store is even better than it was. I sort of don't understand why they moved, the sizes of both spaces are relatively similar, yet the new spot is possible a bit larger, but overall, there wasn't any issue with the old location and it was very organized, large, and the staff were all friendly. For the new location, layout is ok, but I miss the old location's design and layout. The staff are the same, and still friendly. But this new location isn't the same as the old one. You know those shirts that read "I (heart) NY"? I would never wear one of those. I'm from LA. Still, I wouldn't wear the version that says "I (heart) LA", even if it was neon or tie dye. So tacky. However, if I could buy a shirt that said "I (heart) Ocean State Job Lot" I would. And if it was white, I would try really, really hard not to spill hot sauce on it. Why, you ask, this phenomenal devotion to the Job Lot? It's hard to explain, exactly. You'd expect bargains here. You'd expect the staff to be something just shy of surly, and a little stranger than the cashier at the average CVS, and all of those things tend to be true. The thing about Ocean State Job Lot is that it's this wonderful archaeological study of present-day New England. You'll walk through the Job Lot, and there will be kayaks on sale next to about a million rugs, most in classic Victorian motifs. A few steps further and there will be a pile of unique and special baking implements that you'd only find on the East Coast, like the amazing apple peeler-slicer-corer that my dear aunt showed me last summer, and my husband bought for me for Christmas. One day you might find a big sale on down jackets and snow shovels, and a week later, it's all cleared away in favor of slipcovers and sheets. Literally any thing you might need for your house could be here, waiting for you in the strata, at a much lower price than Target. That being said, if you need one particular thing particularly badly, do not be surprised if it is not here. Ocean State Job Lot is not the kind of place that you can take for granted that way... come with a list of needs, and expect to find at least half of what you came for for half of what you'd pay elsewhere. Lowering your expectations is a reasonable response to this strange and rather wonderful place to shop. read more

Excellent location with everything that you would need from a general retailer. They have a similar selection of Walmart, but slightly less quality. The only thing that irritates me is the aggressive nature of the employees when I go to check out without their, "job lot," card/membership. I feel like I shouldn't have to be a frequent shopper to partake in their pricing specials, nor should I be questioned when I'm not. Anyways, the store is clean, and there's always a lot of good junk to buy. read more

One of the staff here was an older middle aged woman with glasses and, very bitter and rude. I was right next to her frantically looking for doorknobs and she ignored me then I asked her if she could help me find another door knob (I needed two) and she croaked at me "what you see is what we have" and turned away. Never met any employee of a retail store so negligent or oblivious to customers. I continued to rummage through the forest of scattered crap on the shelves where I imagine the doorknobs would be, and lo and behold found another door knob! Thanks for telling me where it was, you old fat bitter biatch! The only reason why I would come back here is if I was looking for cheap crap that I could use but don't need. read more

Third time in a row...went there this AM to buy some things and got to the checkout to find it very crowded. They "opened" a 2nd register and asked me to go to that line. Like the two most recent visits half way thru ringing the order the bar code reader and then the whole system died. The cashier who was very nice tried for 15 minutes to get it working then "Curly" called in "Larry" who then called their super troubleshooter "Moe" who got nowhere slowly. I have a bad back and handicapped plates and can move ok but can't stand in one spot for too long. While all this is going on they finally moved me to another register where I had to wait in line to re-ring in my items. One got broken so they threw it in the trash, said too bad and asked me to pay and then finally one person said sorry and turned around and walked off. This might not have bothered me so much except it was the third time in a row this happened. The only difference was each time it was a different register and different "actors" playing the three stooges. No management was in evidence and it was obvious they did not care about my handicap or satisfaction. Just get the money and get out. Totally dissatisfied with this inept; unprofessional operation. The "actors" were nice but totally out of their element. Big lots, BJ's, 5 below or Christmas Tree Shops next time. read more

I went into Ocean State Job Lot on 10 Jan 2009 at about 2:00 pm. I found a great deal on a 20" suitcase. The sign read $10.00, so I went to the check out and had a price check done. The associate who did the check said that the suitcase was indeed $10.00, just like the sign said. I put two of them in my cart and when I finished my shopping and went to check out, t was told by a different assosiate that they were $34.00 each. I reminded them about the sign saying they were $10.00 and the fact that I had already had a price check done. The assistant Manager was called in and he proceeded to tear up the sign that said the suitcase was $10.00. False advertising and a very rude assistant manager will cause me to never go back again. read more

this job lot is huge, better than the one near my town. They have more option than some of the smaller Job lots. They have some good bargains. Job lot is a bargain store, not your high end retail, so don't have high expectations. When I need something, I go Job Lot first to see if I can find my item over the bigger retail. read more

I love Job Lot, and have shopped there for many years, first in RI, then in Foxboro. They have wonderful bargains! If you're looking for GREAT customer service, this is not your store. These people are overworked putting out stock, and they always seem to be busy. When I HAVE needed help, however, they have been terrific. This is a store for bargain hunters, like me! read more

I'm actually becoming more of a fan of this store over time. They have excellent prices on certain things, such as coffee and hot sauce. Also, their disposable cooking pans are cheaper than any other place I've been. However, the employees are generally not very helpful. I recently saw an elderly lady trying to put a large bag of dog food into her cart, and two employees were standing close by. I walked over and offered to help, and at that point one employee suddenly came over and asked the woman if she needed help, and gave me a bit of a dirty look. It was too late; I already put the bag in the woman's cart for her. Other times that I have asked where to find a specific item the employees have either been very helpful or not helpful at all, so plan on finding things on your own. That being said, I almost never leave empty handed, and I always get good deals. They also do a good job of opening more registers once the lines get more than 3-4 people deep. read more

Hi All.. I've been to this Job Lot several times.. I give them an A+ rating.. The store is "always" clean and so well organized.. You actually know what dept. you are shopping in.. The quality of the merchandise is also awesome. I've purchased numerous items, from pet toys, to clothes, to lawn equip., to household items, and much more. All items have lasted a long time, some i still have and use.. The prices are very reasonable even in comparison to Walmart stores... Tey are getting rather pricey now.. I think Job Lot staff are very "amiable", and try to help where they can.. I've always had a very enjoyable experience.. I have a disabled parent in a wheel chair, and I have no problem with space and moving her around the store. other stores don't take this into consideration, and we can't get down some of the area's of the stores to see all the products.. Makes for unfair shopping experience, so we usually won't return to that store.. We really DO enjoy going to the Job Lot in Foxboro!!! Thank you Management & Staff!!! Sincerely, CAC...
