Ocean State Job Lot is easily one of my favorite stores. Their "Crazy Deals" are exactly that--crazy. You buy an item at full price and get a gift card back for the same amount, which basically makes it free. I honestly don't know how they manage to do that as a business, but I'm not complaining! This location is especially great. I come here often, and the supervisor Hope is always so friendly and welcoming. She recognizes me as a regular, greets me every time, and is genuinely kind. Hope is great at her job. She is able to fix any issues that take place and is really good at fixing any issues with prices at the register. They truly have just about everything you could possibly need or want. Definitely a go-to spot for great finds and even better deals. read more

I wanted to comment on the great quality Shasta Daisy 5 gallon plant that I purchased here. I was at this Job Lot for the first time about a week ago. I couldn't find tall daisies anywhere. But they had them at Job Lot! A very fair price at $13.99. They are quite large and healthy. They've been planted in my garden in Boston for roughly 10 days. So I went back to OSJL in Lincoln yesterday and they still had more! Yay for me! I traveled 1 hour to OSJL Lincoln to get more to add to my garden! My cashier was super nice! Thank you! read more

I don't think Job Lot is the best there is....the prices are good, but sometimes the quality is not the best...also, the store has very tight spaces, so that makes the shopping experience a bit challenging. I decided to get some Christmas lights to add to our pre-lit Christmas tree and they had a good selection of them at a great price (I usually wait after the holidays for the clearance, but I wanted to get some new lights now). The line to pay was a bit long, but it gave me time to check out a bunch of the stuff they had hanging by the registers...good marketing strategies....LOL.... read more

Love this place! So many good deals to be found. Upon entering, you realize the store is filled with pretty much anything your little heart could desire...food, garden tools, rugs for your living room, etc. Recently stopped by to pick up some weed stopping fabric for $15....definitely a deal considering how sturdy it is! Of course, I then got distracted and headed over to the food aisle where I picked up some not-so-bad looking maple syrup...so I'll have to see if it's the real deal considering how little I paid for it. Also grabbed some British and Scottish sea salt and malt vinegar chips - already finished the British bag so I'd say to grab one of these for $2 if you can. Anyway, overall this place is awesome because you can browse around and find yourself purchasing things you never knew you wanted or things you actually really needed. I had a completely opposite experience at this location. I had the most pleasant cashier. Her light was off but turned it back on for me, was very cordial & friendly. You lost a customer over a penny! I use to always to go this location up to now. I went there yesterday 11/22. The total came up to $25.01 after donating $5 for their food drive. I gave the cashier a $20 and a $10 and she gave me back $4 and 99 cents. I asked her she couldn't spare the penny! The manager who was standing behind her turned and walked away. I will not be going back to this location, donate to their cause or maybe any job lot again if they are going to be that stringent over a penny! read more

I visited Job Lot in Lincoln looking for a rug. There were many choices. I finally found the one that I liked. However, it was on the bottom of the pile. Luckily I brought my friend with me. Haily came over and offered to help. It became very evident that this would not be an easy job. Haily got on top of the pile and was moving rugs around like an expert. Eventually, Jen, her supervisor came over and help us out. They were both very helpful from beginning to end. Plus I received a 40% gift card. This Job lot bites the night one. First of all it is tiny. Everything is crammed in the isles from the moment you want in. Very rarely do they actually have what I need and if they do I really have to search. The one thing they are good for is their pool supplies. Lincoln/Smithfield has many residences with pools and this is a bonus. read more

This Ocean State Job Lot located in Lincoln, RI is one of the nicest, cleanest and most organized of them all. I've been to many-a-Job Lot and I can tell you that 9 times out of 10, they're dirty and dingy, unorganized and creepy. In Lincoln however; it's just the opposite. It's bright and happy, mostly everything is in its own little place and they usually always have items in stock. I hate this store, every single one. They are not very clean. They often are out of their sale items, on the very first day. Many, many things are much cheaper else where. I will say that they do sometimes have reasonable things that you don't see anywhere else. The absolute worst part is their customer service. Everyone is rude, cashiers, floor associates and especially managers. If you need help finding something; good luck.. They often misprice items and if you question it they become rude and combative. If an item is mismarked and every single one is also; they tell you too bad what it says, the higher price is what you must pay. read more

Very disappointed in the negativity at this store. I was in the store the other day and had a very polite and friendly cashier (I believe her name was Paige), and I heard nothing but negative remarks about her from a coworker. "Joking" or not, this is not the type of thing I want to be hearing when I go into a store. The cashier did her best and was very friendly. We just left after an hour waiting for three employees to take a box of canvas off the top shelf, and one was the manager. They all complained about how heavy the box was. If they had restocked the size we needed, they would not have had to climb a ladder. We wanted the whole box. Then the girl at the register insisted that the whole case was $5. We explained it had 20 packs of 3 in the box. She got a bad attitude about having to re key the transaction, two more times, because she couldn't believe we would spend 100 bucks on art canvas. TWICE we had to tell her the price was too low, and she was frustrated with us!!! We saved the store a $95 LOSS and we got the bad attitude from the employee. Johnston is great, both Warwick stores have been great. This summer we spent $400 at OSJL on art canvas for our camp program. Never will we shop in Lincoln again. read more

Some Ocean State Job Lots can be scary and gross (I find) however this one is clean and organized, housing a mismash of cheap things ranging from clothes, games, holiday things, pet stuff, food oddities. The cashiers here are always quick and nice. And its always fun finding weird stuff to bring home to show people (jarred marinated mussels?). I like their food section, they have a whole line of spices for a lot less than you'd find in most supermarkets. I honestly had a great time here shopping for stocking stuffers for family during christmas. Most of it was weird (like the mussels) but they also have a lot of interesting finds, you just have to be willing to look. Found a really great avocado clay face mask thingy that was fun. Shopping at Job Lot is an experience like no other. My husband and I love to kill time before a movie or in between errands browsing around and inevitably finding lots of cheap, hidden treasures. The selection of hair/skin care products usually includes lots of highly discounted higher end products, and the season section is a must visit location for any holiday prep. I am hesitant to write a review because I love this store. However, after two separate times, months apart , from the same person I had to pass this on. Back in the spring I asked an employee about locating an item. This employee held up her index finger (as to indicate one moment please) and proceeded to pull out a bandana and blow her nose in my face. She did not turn away nor sanitize her hands after. Then she went to locate the item (I presumed) because she didn't say a word to me or communicate she was going to locate the item. I was thankful for her help but disgusted. Second time with Gail, I was waiting in line to check out while she coughing numerous times into her hand. Then proceeded to hand items and cash to customers who seemed to notice this lack of sanitation as well. After I checked out and was just about to start walking away she held up the index finger to the next customer and blew her nose facing the customer and all over the keyboard. The next customer seemed understanding because he clearly had not had two almost identical experiences like myself. Some suggestions: 1) work on communication for your customer. Customers get confused when you just walk away. 2) it's common knowledge that coughing into an elbow is more sanitary 3) blowing your nose facing or in front of a customer is unsettling for a customer. Perhaps excusing yourself to a private area and sanitizing after. I understand it's allergy season but this was a little excessive. read more
