The young lady who checked me out, was super friendly and helpful. She was great at her job and very hospitable. I wish these people were in my home state of California. This is a fantastic store. It's huge, it's clean, and everybody was helpful and friendly. They sell items such as manufacturers, extras, and closeouts. If you see something you like, snag it, because there's a good chance it won't be there the next time you come in. The "treasure hunt" aspect is what makes it fun. They have clothes, hardware, kitchenware, pet supplies, toys, and the list goes on and on. The prices are also very reasonable. I bought an extremely comfortable, fleece blanket, and quite a few clothing items that I would've probably easily paid over $100 for out the door at a regular store. I only paid about 50. If I lived in the area, I would definitely shop here more often. It's a great store. Thanks. read more

This Ocean State is the size of a jumbo jet hanger. There is a greater selection of merchandise than some others I've encountered. It's the kind of place that reminds me of the old Push Cart stores in Manhattan; if you see something that's a bargain - Buy it! It might not be there later. read more

Was once a Grand Union way back in the days which then became vacant for another number of years until Ocean State Job Lot took its spot. It's been in business for quite some time while offering many products. I'm quite thrilled to see how things are organized at this location and it's managed really well. I also notice that this store or at least this location it doesn't require much recovery compared to other retail stores, and it's very clean. The only concern I have is the checkout line doesn't provide enough room while waiting. Other than that, it's always a great experience coming here. read more

I tried purchasing a large roasting pan, and they charged me for an extra large roasting pan. I went to take a picture of the shelf tag, and they argued with me and wouldn't even listen when I told them it was smaller than the extra large size. They wouldn't even compare the sizes. They gave me an attitude, so I just returned it. It was almost double the correct price. Never coming back!!! read more

I absolutely love this store! You can find so many household thing at unbelievable prices. Plus if you pay attention the crazy deals are amazing.The management has done a great job of training their staff!! This store is one of my go to stores for pretty much everything except food. They don't have everything nor a range of options for everything, such as multiple brands for the same item, but they do not claim to. The prices are great, the store is always clean and organized, and the employees are friendly and helpful. I've yet to have a bad experience here. They manage long checkout lanes fairly well, though at times it may take them a little longer to bring more cashiers to the registers. If you need something quick or don't feel like running to the mall this is the place to go. read more

I am surprised - in a bad way - at how quickly this store has fallen into a state of disarray and mess. You can still find deals here - Ocean State Job Lots are known for having great prices on certain types of items. The challenge will be finding some of these. Seasonal items are still presented well, but many of the standard items are cluttered, things like books, housewares, health and beauty, etc. The floor was filthy. Doesn't a place like this have a night crew to reorganize the inventory and clean the store? Please take a day or to to clean and reorganize things. read more

Love this store! You go in for one item and walk out with a shopping cart full of food, seasonal, household, etc items that are fun and so reasonably priced. You never know what you're going to find. Everyone in the store is helpful and makes your shopping experience pleasant. read more

I like this store mostly because it's dog friendly. You can bring your dog in while you browse the store. Additionally, the staff is always friendly and happy to see dogs. They carry a variety of items such as clothing, health and beauty, food, furniture etc. Their displays aren't aesthetically pleasing but there can be some good finds. Their dog treat section can have some good and healthy treats, their prices for pee pee pads are competitive . In their food section, there's a large variety of grains and oils and occasionally you can find some nice pastries. It's a hit or miss store; you might have to dig in order to find a good deal. read more

Was definitely expecting a bit more upon my recent experience inside. Yes, I found what I was looking for, but things looked rather depressing. I had few choices I could make and few main name brands I could choose from within my products I needed to find during the experience. Not once did I ever find a name brand hydrocortisone cream for my recent bout of poison ivy rash that I thought I could cure alone. What made this experience even worse is the fact that I was never greeted by an employee helping me find what I needed to find during this trip. (Not that I really needed someone, but do please show that someone is around your massive store, and that you care to help your shoppers.) For another item I bought. The sign read 8.99. Little did I know that this was the sale price of the item, until I asked for my subtotal. I was never told the regular price of the item so that I could help compare the items price had I bought it before the sale started till yesterday, so as to know if I was to return again, what I'd be faced with of a price. We'll have to see. It's unlikely that I myself will be back, but I know my other family members will be. read more
