    Alice getting admitted.
    Irina T.

Dr Singh and nurse Jackie were great with my cat Alice. Unfortunately we saw too late that there was something wrong with her. Alice had lymphoma that advanced into multiple organs. She got better after a hospital treatment, however, she rapidly declined at home. Alice crossed the Rainbow bridge on September 6, 2024. She was a good, gentle girl, and we'll always miss her. I liked the staff and the facility. We did have a hiccup once when we showed up with Alice for an ultrasound and found the office closed, even though someone was supposed to be expecting us. I don't think this is a pattern, since I saw timely and attentive treatment other times, but my husband, for whom it was his first interaction with the hospital, was very upset. The service is not cheap. I believe you get what you pay for. Maybe if I didn't go to a budget vet for the whole duration of Alice's life, she'd get more thorough checkups and yearly blood tests, and we'd catch her health decline earlier. Maybe she could have lived a longer life. I don't know, but I'm not going to put cost as a primary concern when I select a vet for my next pet, if I get one.

My dog Lotus... may she rest in peace

Our regular vets at Primary Care were on vacation. We saw another new vet that after a number of tests ($$) could still not diagnosis the problem. I read the Limited reviews about Ocean Vets and decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did. Their vet took one look at the X-rays and told us our baby's spine was fused. She had lost all feeling in her back legs and bodily functions. We had to have her euthanized; however their sincere empathy touched our hearts. Even though this was our first time there, they mailed us a sympathy card with heartfelt handwritten sentiments. I definitely would recommend this Veterinary Clinic!

A complete scam... The first time we took our dogs here we needed some shots and some deworming medicine. All was fine. The second time we took one of our dogs here we had a terrible experience. We were quoted surgery for a condition that our dog did not have. We brought our 1 year old dog in since he had an irritated eye thinking we would get some eyedrops. He is a young guy who loves to play and is always running around in the sand or dirt, so the odds of something getting stuck in his eye is not out of the picture. Doctor performed an exam in the back of house without us and then ran an eye ulcer test. We were NOT given the result of the eye ulcer test, the doctor just came in and said that our dog needed surgery due to his condition called entropion. Gave us some eyedrops. We left and called back to reschedule the surgery. Things to note: -I requested medical records of the appointment where they prescribed surgery as I had a bad gut feeling and were not given them as they "take 72 hours to process". They could not give me his temperature or his weight in writing until 72 hours later? - They asked for all $2600 up front for his surgery. After speaking to the doctor I was handed to the front desk to pay for it all upfront. - No pre and post op surgery notes were given. They just wanted me to schedule and pay. How would I be able to prepare my dog for his surgery? We wouldn't have known to not feed him that morning which would have been a huge problem. I had to ask for them. - Entropion is a condition that is a birth defect. How would my dog have that, he is 1 and he was perfectly healthy 2 weeks ago? - When receiving the doctor's notes 72 hours later, they contradict themselves. The first condition listed under rule out is entropion and the treatment plan is enteropion (spelled wrong) surgery - I went back and spoke with the front desk lady who promptly refunded me without a fight, which is also suspicious in my eyes. If you are confident in your services, why refund me? Seems to me as they are fully aware of what they are doing and they got caught. (Also glad I got the refund because again, it is a scam) When taken for a second opinion at a different vet in HB, he did have a piece of dust stuck in his eye. We got some eyedrops and he got an antibiotic shot and his eye has cleared up completely in 24 hours. Prescribing a veterinary surgery when unnecessary is veterinary malpractice. We love our dogs and would do anything for them, but luckily we escaped not putting our dog through a painful surgery for no reason. Avoid this place at all costs.

I am so grateful to the team here. I called late Sunday night because I found blood in my cat's litter box. Panicked, assumed the worst and reached out. We were able to come right in last night, the reception helped take some info over the phone and we were seen immediately. The tech was wonderful, the veterinarian was wonderful, and I am so grateful for all of your compassion. Pricing was very fair (especially considering it was an after hours emergency visit). The staff went over charges with us prior to proceeding with any treatments and that was reassuring. At this point, I am considering switching to Dr. Singh as our new veterinarian. Thank you ALL so much!

    Opie after surgery

This team was more than amazing. From the front desk staff to the vet techs and veterinarians, they were all so helpful polite and compassionate. They went above and beyond to provide our Opie with the emergent surgery he needed to stop his bleeding tumor. The whole team stayed there over night and after hours to ensure that not only Opie, but all patients that needed their help got the treatment they needed. I can't thank them enough! I will always appreciate what they did for us that night. No amount of words or donuts will show our gratitude for taking care of our big sweet boy. Thank you so very much!

Love this place! I asked for an estimate for a neuter and was able to get surgery performed the same day. Customer service is excellent and the doctor appears to be very knowledgeable. Will definitely be coming back :)

Unfortunately, our experience was marked by significant delays, poor communication, and a lack of follow-up throughout her care. During our first visit as a walk-in, Barbara was seen fairly quickly. On the second visit, we again came as a walk-in and waited over eight hours. While we understand that emergency cases take priority and that the hospital was reportedly short-staffed, we were told it was okay to leave Barbara there and that a doctor would call us with updates. Hours passed without any communication. By 9:00 PM, having received no call, we returned to the hospital only to find that she still had not been seen. She was eventually evaluated late that night and prescribed another course of antibiotics, this time for two weeks, with plans for an ultrasound to rule out stones or other causes. The following week, Barbara had a scheduled ultrasound appointment. We dropped her off at 9:00 AM, but the ultrasound was not completed until approximately 5:00 PM. Afterward, we were instructed to obtain a repeat urine culture before finishing her antibiotic course. We were specifically told that this would be performed by a veterinary technician and would not require a veterinarian evaluation, which would incur an additional fee. When we arrived for the urine culture, the front desk informed us that no such appointment existed and that Barbara would need to be seen by a veterinarian to obtain the sample. This directly contradicted what we had been told previously. Only after asking staff to review the notes from our prior visit, which clearly documented the plan for a technician-only urine culture was the issue resolved. This unnecessary confusion delayed her care plan. After the urine sample was collected, we were told the culture results would be available within five days and that a doctor would contact us. Seven days passed with no communication. We called the office and were told a message would be sent to the doctor and that we would receive a call the next day. Again, nobody followed up. Several more days later, we called back and spent 45 minutes on hold trying to get clarification. Eventually, Dr. Budzinski spoke with us and informed us that the urine culture was negative. Had we been notified promptly, we could have avoided continuing unnecessary antibiotics. The most disappointing aspect of this experience was the lack of communication and follow-through. Throughout the entire process, there was little effort by the medical team to keep us informed about our dog's care, test results, or treatment plan. When we expressed our concerns, there was no meaningful acknowledgment or apology. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this facility and will not be returning.

He was taken in quickly and I was initially reassured, which helped in that moment. After that, most of the communication shifted toward costs, approvals, and payments rather than clear medical updates. I understand veterinary care is expensive and estimates are necessary. However, this experience felt far more transactional, especially in moments that required compassion. I paid about $517 for basic treatment (antibiotics, patient room fees, iv fluids, vaccines, cone, and fees), but no diagnostics were completed. I was quoted $1,000+ for x-rays. Feeling overwhelmed by staffs, I ultimately left and sought care elsewhere. At another clinic, my dog received imaging, was diagnosed with a broken rib and dental injury, and received full treatment for a much more affordable price. Beyond the cost, that clinic felt far more present and personal, and the experience itself felt reassuring and grounded rather than transactional. Thankfully, he is now safe and recovering. After posting my original review, the business publicly responded and asked me to reach out directly. I did so immediately, in good faith, hoping for clarification or resolution. I never received a response. That gap between public reply and private silence is part of why I'm sharing this. That, combined with the experience in person, is what disappointed me most -- not just the visit itself, but the lack of follow-through afterward. When a business responds publicly but doesn't continue that same level of communication privately, it raises concerns about sincerity and whether the response is about resolution or reputation.

Regardless, they tried a method and thought she would be able to pass it in the next couple of days. Well, a whole week passed and it didn't. So, we took her back and they needed to surgically remove it. The procedure seemed to go smoothly. We picked her up at the end of the day and she was still out of it, but relieved to come home and was able to drink and eat. We gave her medications as prescribed. The incision was about 9 inches across Ocean's belly. We did our best to keep it covered, but she did scratch it a bit. At her follow up appointment, they removed the sutures and provided antibiotics and a solution to keep it clean. At her third follow up, they provided antibiotics and ointment for the redness, but she healed pretty well in a matter of weeks. They said going through the esophagus would have damaged it, so this was the best approach to getting the bottle cap out. As a souvenir, they gave us the cap in a ziplock bag and we could see that it was starting to rust. They were great about calling and checking up on her and they did an excellent job stitching her back up. They gave us an estimate range of the cost prior to the procedure and luckily, it was on the lower end, but still a dent in our wallets. They performed an X-ray, blood test and urinalysis, found a bladder stone, and clearly explained the situation and treatment options. Because the stone was too large to pass naturally, surgery was recommended. They walked us through the procedure, provided a clear estimate, and scheduled surgery for the very next day. At one point, they requested pictures of the medication, which felt more like a setup for judgment than support. Other Banfield locations I've visited were professional and respectful, so this experience was an exception. I will be taking my dog elsewhere for proper care. If you are a dog owner, I would strongly reconsider visiting this location. Customer service and proper care should never come with judgment or condescension.
