BEWARE!! They use your love and concern for your four-legged family member against you. The exam was exceptionally short but they came back with an exceptionally long list of items that were critical! Told me my dog had to be hospitalized! "My dog could have cancer!" The vet didn't listen to anything I was telling him about my dog's behavior at home. I had another veterinarian review the labs this place did and he totally disagreed. They put me into a blind panic, thank goodness another vet was patient and kind reviewing the labs with me. The vet tech was as pushy or more so than the vet. Dr Singh and nurse Jackie were great with my cat Alice. Unfortunately we saw too late that there was something wrong with her. Alice had lymphoma that advanced into multiple organs. She got better after a hospital treatment, however, she rapidly declined at home. Alice crossed the Rainbow bridge on September 6, 2024. She was a good, gentle girl, and we'll always miss her. I liked the staff and the facility. We did have a hiccup once when we showed up with Alice for an ultrasound and found the office closed, even though someone was supposed to be expecting us. I don't think this is a pattern, since I saw timely and attentive treatment other times, but my husband, for whom it was his first interaction with the hospital, was very upset. The service is not cheap. I believe you get what you pay for. Maybe if I didn't go to a budget vet for the whole duration of Alice's life, she'd get more thorough checkups and yearly blood tests, and we'd catch her health decline earlier. Maybe she could have lived a longer life. I don't know, but I'm not going to put cost as a primary concern when I select a vet for my next pet, if I get one. read more

I read the Limited reviews about Ocean Vets and decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did. Their vet took one look at the X-rays and told us our baby's spine was fused. She had lost all feeling in her back legs and bodily functions. We had to have her euthanized; however their sincere empathy touched our hearts. A complete scam... The first time we took our dogs here we needed some shots and some deworming medicine. All was fine. The second time we took one of our dogs here we had a terrible experience. We were quoted surgery for a condition that our dog did not have. We brought our 1 year old dog in since he had an irritated eye thinking we would get some eyedrops. He is a young guy who loves to play and is always running around in the sand or dirt, so the odds of something getting stuck in his eye is not out of the picture. Doctor performed an exam in the back of house without us and then ran an eye ulcer test. We were NOT given the result of the eye ulcer test, the doctor just came in and said that our dog needed surgery due to his condition called entropion. Gave us some eyedrops. We left and called back to reschedule the surgery. Things to note: -I requested medical records of the appointment where they prescribed surgery as I had a bad gut feeling and were not given them as they "take 72 hours to process". They could not give me his temperature or his weight in writing until 72 hours later? - They asked for all $2600 up front for his surgery. After speaking to the doctor I was handed to the front desk to pay for it all upfront. - No pre and post op surgery notes were given. They just wanted me to schedule and pay. How would I be able to prepare my dog for his surgery? We wouldn't have known to not feed him that morning which would have been a huge problem. I had to ask for them. - Entropion is a condition that is a birth defect. How would my dog have that, he is 1 and he was perfectly healthy 2 weeks ago? - When receiving the doctor's notes 72 hours later, they contradict themselves. The first condition listed under rule out is entropion and the treatment plan is enteropion (spelled wrong) surgery - I went back and spoke with the front desk lady who promptly refunded me without a fight, which is also suspicious in my eyes. If you are confident in your services, why refund me? Seems to me as they are fully aware of what they are doing and they got caught. (Also glad I got the refund because again, it is a scam) When taken for a second opinion at a different vet in HB, he did have a piece of dust stuck in his eye. We got some eyedrops and he got an antibiotic shot and his eye has cleared up completely in 24 hours. Prescribing a veterinary surgery when unnecessary is veterinary malpractice. We love our dogs and would do anything for them, but luckily we escaped not putting our dog through a painful surgery for no reason. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I didn't have the greatest experience here. I took my cat here in a Sunday to treat her UTI hoping that this place or different than the ER vets that won't gouge and do unnecessary tests etc. Unfortunately we had to walk out without treatment because they were going to run through the full gamut of tests to the tune of $2k+. Any place they can't accurately diagnose but want to subject your poor suffering animal to all of the unnecessary testing is Huge huge huge red flag, I booked it out of they right away! What's even stranger is that they make you sign a thing that says you refuse treatment. What treatment? They haven't determined treatment since they haven't been able to conduct every test under the sun to diagnose a cat with UTI! I was able to squeeze her in for an appointment with her normal vet next day and they were able to diagnose her? Put her on a special diet for kidney support and it's been several months now and she's doing great. My regular vet charged us $150 vs Ocean Vet Hospital who wanted $2k. Pet owners beware. read more

They never pushed anything on me when it came to the bill, they offered a lot of other cheaper solutions that were outside of their clinic (not a lot of places do that!!). they truly came through in such a tough situation. I appreciate the whole staff. Including the front desk (I didn't catch her name my apologies), I called about 10 other vets before finding this one.. they were the only one who didn't give me a hard time when it came to asking for an estimate $. I came across this place on yelp looking for a vet that was open late because my dog needed to be seen. I gave them a call and they told us to come, and they checked us in right away. The place itself just opened up about 3 weeks ago and it's so clean, and smells so nice inside!!! My dog ended up needing surgery, and even though it was an hour before closing they said they would do the surgery with no worries. I really appreciated this because i know the staff must have had a long day, but they never once complained or even mentioned the closing time. Being that this was my first experience with them, it definitely left a memorable impression and it's safe to say I'm coming back to this clinic for all of Bear's future needs. They strongly recommended I admit my dog overnight for IV fluids, continuous monitoring, and vitals checks every 2-3hrs. I was so scared and heart broken to leave him behind but they reassured me many times so I ENTRUSTED his care to them. In the morning I arrived at 8am opening hours which they told me was the earliest I could come visit. The last text update from the overnight nurse Michelle was at 6am (she was great). Unfortunately this facility does not have policies or procedures in place that state a pet cannot be left alone, unmonitored, in a crate in the back, with an IV infusion going so the nurse was allowed to clock out at 7am even though the next staff member had not arrived. The staff member was actually in an accident (I sincerely hope they are ok) and therefore my dog was left alone unmonitored after the vet stressed to me multiple times that he was at risk of declining until 11:30am when a different staff was able to come in. The manager didn't come in that day and we had to go back and forth over the phone with her calling the head vet doctor to get me only a partial refund. They absolutely broke my trust as a client and pet parent. I was anxious and greatly emotionally distressed wondering if my boy was even still alive after they told me his risk of declining multiple times the night before and then left him all alone for 4.5 hours with an IV going. I am very grateful to Antoine the vet tech for taking over Ringo's care when he came in. I would bump my star rating up for him and the other techs but I cannot overlook my pet who is like my baby being left unmonitored with an IV flowing after they told me he is so seriously ill and had issues maintaining a stable blood pressure with the fluids all night and the nurse had to adjust the drip rate all night. Amalia was a pleasant manager to speak with but kept reiterating that this was an unforeseen circumstance-well that's why facilities have policies in place, why managers usually call to check in at opening when they aren't coming in that day, why the manager is usually the emergency back up staff, etc. Someone still has to take responsibility, even for unforeseen circumstances. I saw a different review saying they had a morning appointment scheduled but the doors were still locked far past the appt time. So this is not the first time something like this has happened. They also charged us for 3 treatments even though the vet had initially said my pet would get 2 (he ended up spiking a fever and needing all 3 but the communication was inconsistent and they upcharged us initially). They are good for check ups and such but NEVER leave your pet here overnight. And always check your charges. read more

We were able to come right in last night, the reception helped take some info over the phone and we were seen immediately. I want to do a really thorough review of this place because while I don't believe this is the worst vet I've ever been to, it's definitely not high on my list. The first time me and my partner took our kitten here, they let us in really late at night for a worm situation, we were freaked out and didn't know what to do, and we were really grateful that they saw us so late. however this is about the end of the appreciation I have for them. Not only did it feel as if they thought we were dumb the whole time I've come here, if you have a cat you will not go into a separate room but simply wait out in the lobby. The only time I saw a room was when we came late at night. That's fine I suppose but I feel like little things like this really added on top of each other. On top of this, the staff are very inconsistent with their recommendations. We had a total of three appointments here, and each time I asked about some strange markings on my kittens face. We assumed it was bruising, but weren't sure. One very lovely lady on our second appointment said that it was probably bruising but to monitor it. Our last and final appointment a young dark haired man refused to look at it completely, and basically any question I asked was met with "I don't really know". I am a first time cat owner, and this is really stressful for me. I appreciate that if you don't know you shouldn't give an uniformed answer, but for things like diet concerns, bruising on the face, and concerns about stool consistency, this guy met me with like "uh" a little scoff and a "I don't know, I guess you should probably do this?" And would give me information that was not helpful. I just want to be able to ask questions and get consistent answers and not feel mocked when I'm worried about my pet. read more

I brought my kittens in for respiratory issues. They quoted me $600 low end and $1200 high end. My kittens had been acting normal and eating well... They probably just had a cold with slight infections. I talked to my cousin who is a vet and the shelter where I got the kittens and they both agreed that this was absolutely ridiculous. All they needed was antibiotics and eye ointment. It has been two days, and there are already almost fully recovered. When I insisted that that's all I wanted to pay for and they made me sign a letter saying it was against their recommendation. I told the shelter and they said they would make sure to red flag them and not have people go to them. They had never had any experience with them before. They should not be taking advantage of people and ripping them off for unnecessary treatments! read more

I really wanted to like this place because the doctor and overnight tech seemed very compassionate, but after being scammed by their team in regards to billing, I can't recommend this place anymore. If you're coming here for an emergency visit, keep the following in mind: 1. Ask for an itemized invoice BEFORE paying. When I asked for an itemized invoice before picking my pet up from an emergency hospitalization, the receptionist told me that she would give me the itemized receipt AFTER I paid. That doesn't make sense, especially because I noticed they were 'accidentally' overcharging me with a $300 "miscellaneous treatment estimate." When I brought it up, the vet tech told me that it's a 'mistake' and my invoice was not fully updated. That's a couple hundred dollar mistake. 2. There is a $200 fee for any take-home medications. According to the male vet tech that I spoke with upon picking my pet up, there is apparently a '$200 flat fee' for any medications that go home, even if I'm getting just 1 medication. However, this is different from what the female vet tech told me when I was admitting my pet for emergency hospitalization, and she needed my signature. She had told me that the $200 is a high, miscellaneous estimated fee for medications that will go home and that the fee will change upon the number/type of meds my pet needs. Also, at this point (when they initially told me to pay with the faulty total and explained the medications to me), I still didn't have my pet back. They were also unneccessarily prescribing pain medication for my pet when she was not even in pain. I had confirmed and heard from the office that they had not had to administer any pain meds during her hospitalization (her most critical times) because her vitals were steady and she wasn't in physical distress. It almost felt as if they were keeping my pet hostage until I made some monetary decisions. Overall, I couldn't help but to feel like this office was trying to take advantage of their customers. read more

I was able to schedule an appointment on the same day as I suspected my cat Uno had a UTI. I found this place on Yelp while searching for a vet open late, and their hours from 7 am to 11 pm are incredibly convenient. The interior is spotless, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Dr. Singh and attending tech Jackie were understanding and took my cat's problem seriously. Jackie patiently explained everything to me and helped me explore payment options. She waited patiently as I made decisions for my cat. Thanks to Dr. Singh and Jackie, my cat is on the mend with medication. I brought my Chispita in as an emergency she was attacked by another dog at the dog park I called 3 different hospitals and they were all a 2-3 hour wait. I finally called here and was told by the receptionist Lily to come right is she was so nice and helpful. Once I got here I had the technician Jackie and Amalia waiting for my chispita to take her right in and be seen by the doctor. This is a great vet and was very helpful when my dog needed to get right in because of an eye problem, which turned out to be a problem with her teeth because they were loose and she had an infection. The thing about this is that they're open on the weekends and also at night when problems occur. the bet was very knowledgeable and because I listen to him and pulled four of my dogs teeth, her eye problems stopped, and she has no more infections that were causing her eyes to drip excessively.
