I 100% recommend Dr. Campbell and his staff. My family dog Phoenix was referred to Dr. Campbell and I thank God she was. Once we found out he was the best we went for it. Phoenix had a big mass on her belly and needed it removed. They tested it and came back as cancer. The most horrible news to ever get. She was none stop brought to Dr. Campbell for care and he took the best care of her. As if she was his own. Unfortunately, the cancer was too intense. The prior vet we went to didn't catch it on time. Brushed it off as if it was just extra skin on her nipple. She had to get surgery to remove the mass and test it by Dr. Campbell. That's when we found out about the cancer. It's one of the most brutal cancers a dog can have. My brother was referred to a cancer treatment for her, well he went to start treatment and they told him it's too late. If they start the treatment it will tear her apart. Dr. Campbell, thank you so much for saving our dog for the short period of time. Today we had to say our goodbyes as the cancer was so aggressive. Thank you for taking her in as your own and loving on her. You are literally the best Dr we have ever known. To care about your pups and more is a blessing. I don't know what my mom and brother would have done without you. Phoenix lived almost 12 years, and cancer got her. Today we said our goodbyes as she crossed that rainbow bridge. Really can't say enough about the care I received at Stitches Veterinary Surgery with Dr. Campbell and the rest of his team. I had just moved to Long Beach, within two weeks of my ragdoll cat Pouncey's diagnosis of a large kidney tumor that needed to be removed. Truly fortunate that Stitches opened up just earlier this year and is right down the street from me, a beautiful modern surgical clinic and OR suite in one. From the moment Liz took my intake information down to the initial surgery consult, I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Campbell understood my anxiety regarding the urgency of the situation and basically held my hand through the entire process, with frequent phone calls and detailed visit notes. He scheduled Pouncey for surgery the very next week. Prices were fair including itemized invoices with which I had no issues getting reimbursed by my insurance. The nephrectomy surgery itself couldn't have gone any better - Dr. Campbell called me immediately afterwards to give me an update. Pouncey healed up quickly without any complications, and his surgical scar improved to the point you can't even see the incision. The best news about all of this was that the tumor pathology turned out to be benign. I can't put into words how grateful I am for this team. My dog Silas had been dealing with a recurring mass on his right jaw. We went to multiple hospitals and doctors to try to get Silas relief but none were able to fully remove/drain the mass which kept recurring. Although I was no where near Ventura I was willing to make that drive solely based off of the 5 star review from someone who had a similar issue with their dog. I would drive from anywhere in California to bring my pets to see Dr. Campbell and the amazing staff at Stitches. They truly performed the impossible for my 15 year old chihuahua at a fraction of the cost that a local Los Angeles vet would have cost us. We were devastated to learn that our Quentin doggie had a spleen tumor that was probably bleeding intermittently.... We were told by his vet to either have a splenectomy or put him down to avoid a fatal internal bleed. Dr. Campbell removed his spleen and overgrown parathyroid tissue. Everything from the pictures of the surgery to the incision sites was a work of art- he truly performed human quality medical procedures on our dear doggo. Liz and Missy took care of me all day while I was an absolute WRECK. Together with Dr. Campbell, they have the highest standards for thorough and timely communication. You can tell that each staff member cares about every patient like it is their own pet. Not only did he save Quentin's life, but the transformation in his quality of life has been truly unbelievable. He has reverse aged by 5-8 years!!! He walks with the strength and endurance that he did when he was around 8. Before the surgery he couldn't stand or walk for more than about two minutes. Yesterday, he alternated between walking and standing to sniff for over 25 minutes straight without sitting down once!!! In the house, he used to just lay in his bed with his head down. Now he is curious, active, awake, holding his head hp high, looking around, and interacting with us. To all of the Stitches staff members, you have truly given me the best gift of my lifetime. Dr. Cambell and staff were amazing in making me feel comfortable and explaining my frenchies procedure, they also made my baby feel calm and they were so gentle and caring for him. We brought our 13 1/2 year old Shar Pei in for a consultation, and the service was remarkable. Professional, caring, knowledgable, thorough, and prompt. Within a few hours of a CT Scan we had a 9 page report showing the results, the state of all his organs, the prognosis, and the various options. We decided our beloved pet was too old for a traumatic surgery and further care, so we chose the palliative route. The entire staff was so supportive. Amazing experience here at stitches! My dog, a two year old cane corse was recently diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia. As any concerned dog mom I called so many clinics looking for pricing and orthopedic specialist, even drove my dog to Mexico and had a terrible experience at a well know clinic Vet Playas. When back I came across stitches and gave them a call the receptionist was extremely friendly and immediately gave me rough estimates on pricing for surgery. I made an appt for the following day 8 am for a CT scan. Dr. Courtney and his team are incredible. My Corso is not so friendly, they did everything to make him feel comfortable. They took him in did his CT Scan and by the following day had a diagnosis and plan for treatment. We went ahead did the surgery and we have proceeded with therapy shock wave and PRP therapy to ensure he lives his best pain free life. I am incredible grateful for this whole team from the nurses who greet Jack from the moment we walk in to the friendly receptionist. Dr. Courtney is very knowledgeable and truly has a passion for what he does. At my first appointment we discussed what needed to be done. I was given a quote and scheduled for the following week. On the day of the surgery (which was today), check-in was a breeze! Everything was discussed thoroughly and all of my questions were answered. There were no surprises with my quote. Pricing could not be beat! It was far better than I anticipated. I took my dog there for a suspected mucocele, primarily for a second opinion after getting an odd feeling with the previous specialist I had seen. He did a very thorough examination, suggested some testing to verify what was going on and gave great reasons and options. Turns out she doesn't actually have a mucocele and didn't need surgery. Dr. Campbell then provided recommendations for treatment and was still kind and answered questions. I can't thank him enough for digging deeper and helping find out what was going on. From the very first phone call to the whole process everyone was super supportive and gave detailed information to lessen the stress and worry. I rescued my cat freya in Mexico and she suffered a fall which caused her to have a diaphragmatic hernia.
