What was once presented as a safe place for elderly residents has turned into an environment that no human being should have to live in, especially vulnerable seniors who depend on others for care and dignity. From the moment you walk into the building, there is a strong and overwhelming smell of urine throughout the halls and common areas. The facility appears poorly maintained, dirty, and neglected. The conditions are unacceptable for any care facility that is responsible for the health and well being of elderly residents. On the final day we came to remove our family member from the facility, we witnessed feces on the floors and even smeared on walls. It was absolutely horrifying and something I will never forget. Our family member's room looked like it had not been properly cleaned or cared for in a very long time. It was obvious basic sanitation and upkeep were not being handled consistently. No family should have to worry whether their loved one is being kept in a clean and safe environment, yet that became a constant concern for us. What was even more alarming was the lack of professionalism and proper care from the staff. Many employees appeared extremely young, inexperienced, and completely untrained. It genuinely felt like people were simply handed a pair of scrubs and placed in charge of elderly residents without the knowledge, guidance, compassion, or qualifications necessary to care for human lives. The lack of urgency, attentiveness, and accountability was shocking. Instead of empathy and professionalism, our family was often met with rude attitudes and dismissive behavior. We spent years hoping conditions would improve, giving chance after chance because moving an elderly loved one is not an easy decision emotionally or physically. Unfortunately, things only became worse. Eventually we reached a point where we no longer felt our family member was safe there. If you value the quality of life, dignity, health, and safety of your elderly family member, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. No one deserves to spend their final years in conditions like this. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, and honestly I would not place my worst enemy there. The conditions and level of care we witnessed were beyond unacceptable and in my opinion this facility should be thoroughly investigated immediately

She loves her nurse, the food and she's very happy. When she did research on recovery places this one came the highest rated for her insurance. Nana keeps saying she's surprised at how quiet it is here. We are very happy with the people here and the care she's getting. They all deserve recognition. The units are very small, about 800 sq. feet. That includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchen and a very small living room, as a comparison our one bedroom apartment is double that size. Some units have been recently renewed, Front desk staff does not know how to use their computer properly, all the times we've been there they couldn't use the sign-up program. Lately we've been just walking in. One thing that I didn't expect is good tasting food, I was expecting hospital-grade and I have to say everything we ate so far was very good. A high tech monitoring system is built in to the building that alerts staff to any potential need for assistance such as falls, so residents do not need to wear devices on lanyards, etc. Facility resembles a high end hotel, bright, cheerful, and beautifully furnished and decorated. Staff is outstanding, helpful, and attentive, and assists residents with FaceTime or Zoom calls to friends and family. The most important characteristic of The Welbrook is its commitment to residents' care and comfort. Each resident has a cute private studio apartment (no individual kitchen facilities, as all ambulatory residents eat in the lovely dining room). This is not a "for profit" facility, and it has only 3 fixed price points that depend upon the amount of physical care a resident requires--no "cafeteria"-style menu of fees for services such as medication management; the fixed fee covers everything. After some terrible SNF experiences and a difficult struggle to locate an acceptable residential care solution for our family member, we tripped upon The Welbrook. It was the answer to our prayers and a huge relief for the family. We are now relaxed in a way we have not experienced in several years!
