Disorganized and unsafe. They put only one person from a group of 8 on a horse (to practice going around the stable area) within the first 40 minutes of the 90 minute experience (i.e. not the experience we signed up for) and had us all standing around with minimal direction at that point. Whereas 30 minutes in, we should've been all instructed on how to ride and on the trail per their website offering. We asked for helmets and they did not help us find them. I was sent into the barn by myself, seperate from the group (who remained outside with their horses) to find my horse with no supervision and when I tried to greet my horse it tried to bite me. I asked my instructor to help bring the horse out and they didn't, so I was on my own having no clue what to do. I then went outside to try to ask for help again and saw the only person who had been put on a horse at that point (the stubborn scary one as they called it) have their horse fall over to the ground with them on it and get their foot stuck in the stirrup which was really dangerous and he's lucky he didn't get hurt. The horses were clearly agitated and tired at the 5:15 timing from being overworked all day. At that point we felt unsafe and left. They also paired me with a horse deemed stubborn despite me making clear I was a beginner and that's not a good fit. Requested a refund given what was provided did not align at all with what we paid for. Texted and emailed. Did not receive a reply. Will be disputing the charge and ensuring others are warned before paying a fortune to not even receive what they signed up for. Couldn't recommend this less and I never leave bad reviews. Had a very enjoyable ride today. The guide was friendly. The horses were mellow and knew the route well, requiring minimal steering prompts. A few of the horses had a desire to munch on the trail. Once that was stopped, the ride was very fun and easy going. The scenery was really nice. Our ride started near fogged out, but it quickly burned off. I really appreciate the establishment and their horses. If you have ever been on a bad horse, you truly appreciate the well mannered ones, and these are good tempermented horses for sure. My husband surprised me for Valentine's Day and it was amazing. Zachary who is the new owner was very informative and kind. He gave us a tshirt at the end and let us interact with the horses and take pictures. We had a new guide and his name was Elvin. He did not know English but he was very cautious and cared for the safety of all the riders and the horses and knew how to communicate what he was wanting to say. Zachary rode in the back of us so we had two guides. The views were breathtaking. If you're looking for a place that will let you be hands on this is it! Such a beautiful experience. It's my second time at Ocean view stables, and knew I had to come back after the first time. We started off with some instructions in the arena then began the trail ride. We booked this for a group of 6 women visiting from Sweeden. The weather looked fine until the day before, where the forecast was 100 percent chance of rain for the entire ride. The staff called to tell us it would probably be better to reschedule (since we can't reschedule because they don't live here) I asked if they would refund us given they had said it would not be enjoyable and conditions would be bad. He checked with the owner and the owner said no. Owner called me to tell me it would still be very enjoyable and not bad at all. The ranch hand was a true sport but we spent two hours soaking wet in down pouring rain, freezing cold with little ability to move our fingers. I respect a cancellation policy but the owners inability to accomodate a one of scenerio was off putting. read more

The weather wasn't the best but our guide was still able to take us on a very long ride and we even stopped for pictures along the way. If you love the ocean, love the breeze, love a good sense of adventure, love a good ab and arm workout, don't know whether you love horses yet, are open to spending quality time with a group of strangers, and have always been curious about how an eighteenth century voyager might've felt "discovering" the peninsula on horseback -- the one hour Ocean View Ride is for you. I'm sure the fact that we got incredible lucky with the weather and whale sightings had a lot to do with my overwhelmingly positive experience, but the stable crew and operation also did a great job. They are a jolly and neighborly crew, matching horse to rider skill level adeptly, leading our horse line swiftly, and dealing out jokes constantly. It was my first time ever on a horse, and our guide also gave me tidbits on how to ride on, talk to, and calm my horse (my assigned best pal, Breezy, was feeling the munchies pretty badly for the first half of the ride and then became overtly interested in overtaking the pesky horse in front of her for the second -- a lot to deal with when you're primarily focused on not falling off). Also, they gave us free t-shirts to celebrate their recent opening under new management which awoke my long-dormant college student heart. You think you're beyond free t-shirts but then you're not. Anyway - would recommend booking a tour with them for a birthday or anniversary splurge. read more

Omg it' was my wife birthday and it was her first time horse back riding she had an awesome experience now me I was a little timid going down the trail so Caroline and Cameron walked us down to the pint where I felt comfortable because I was ready to just not go they went out they way. Now last but not least Jaime the guy who took us on the tour pulled my horse by the rope the entire trail ride to make me feel comfortable it was so sweet and it made me able to enjoy because I know I was in safe hands. I attempted to do the horsemanship classes. The first one was great and had a great time with the teacher and the horse. The second class -- level 2 -- was not so good. The horse I was paired with was in a foul mood (or maybe is all the time?). He kept trying to bite me as I brushed him. He even nipped my sweater.
