It seems like a really good sushi bar but if it's also supposed to be a seafood/fish restaurant then it is in serious trouble. I am a regular customer at Oceans and typically dine there once a week for lunch. Until now, my experiences with both the food and service have generally been positive. Unfortunately, my visit on Thursday, February 5, 2026, was exceptionally disappointing and warrants your attention. After placing our order, our entrées were delivered before our salad and bread. Because our assigned server was unavailable, I informed another server of the issue. When the salad was eventually delivered, it was incorrect. I had to request the correct salad twice before it was finally brought out as ordered. After beginning my meal, I discovered a live bug in my food. At that point, the experience became unacceptable. Our waitress was apologetic and offered a complimentary dessert, which I initially declined. She insisted, and I ultimately accepted. However, despite the severity of the situation, the establishment did not offer to comp my meal. Given the multiple service failures and the food safety issue, I believe comping the meal would have been the appropriate and professional response. As a loyal customer, this experience was both surprising and disappointing. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to address service and quality control issues moving forward. We were the first ones there for dinner, and right off the bat, two of our four salads were wrong. We asked for cucumber salad but got seaweed instead. Then, out of the seven sushi rolls we ordered, five were so spicy we couldn't even eat them. When we told the waitress, she just said to put more ginger on them. Not surprised that this restaurant has a 3.7 rating on yelp. Had dinner there last night. Gumbo was sad. It's the most expensive gumbo in Little Rock while having very little seafood. The gumbo tasted like it was out of a can. I highly recommend that the chef go to a real cajun restaurant and find out how to make a roux. We ordered the Crazy Monkey roll that is an item that is seared at the table. The roll was ice cold and it was not flamed in the foil. Very disappointed. read more

The sushi was pretty good -- rather surprising to find this place in Little Rock. Ocean's Sushi is served in a roll, so at least 6 pieces. All rolls were very large servings. (2-3 bites per piece for the average sized mouth. Recommend you select a few sushi rolls and share, so you don't get tired of the same thing. The Red Snapper was disappointingly dry and tasteless. It was so overcooked, I left half and begged the others in my group for a piece of their sushi roll. Good, acceptable service. Inside is nicely appointed with good spacing between tables. This was our families' third time collectively at this restaurant, a party of 5, and we were celebrating two birthdays. For our appetizers, we ordered a corn crab dip with pita chips and oysters Bienville. The pita chips were crunchy, and the crab dip was creamy, although the dip was mostly corn, not crab. My stepfather ordered he and my mother the Oysters Bienville. My mom loves this dish, and her + her husband have had this dish locally and all over the world. My mother could not chew her oyster and had to take it out of her mouth and put it on her plate-something my mother does not do in public. My stepfather plodded on and got through his portion. My mother told the waitress that they were rubbery and showed her that she could not even swallow it, but that was where it ended, and it was on the bill. My brother ordered a California roll and the "Ocean's basket." The roll was unremarkable, but beautifully presented and not displeasing. The "catfish filet" in his entree basket was embarrassing. He would hold a piece of fish up, and it would just fall over in his hand and bounce up slightly, like it was a deflated rubber toy, and there was no crunch. The shrimp was delicious-butterflied, lightly battered, and fried expertly. My brother's fries arrived at the table completely soggy. I try everyone's food, and they were grease-logged and not fresh and crispy. My mother ordered the shrimp and grits, which is one of her favorites. Her shrimp were not cooked all of the way, and she kept whispering to me that she didn't want to eat it (but didn't want to hurt her husband's feelings). Her grits were full of a watery sauce on inner rim of her bowl that almost looked like a butter or cheese sauce-we couldn't tell. Either way, the sauce wasn't reduced or properly thickened - it tasted like water and butter mixed together encircling her grits. She told me later that none of it had enough seasoning, very bland. I ordered a roast chicken with mushroom/truffle sauce from the steakhouse menu-with 2sides, the broccoli and cheese casserole and green beans with pancetta. Regrettably, my chicken was almost impossible to cut. I wish I had taken a photo, because it was the smallest piece of chicken, almost comical, this chicken was $26. I cut enough to get two small bites, so my family would see that I was eating. I order the roast chicken at Yaya's all the time, and it is lovely and filling - this was not that roast chicken. The sauce was stingy and just a few mushrooms cut up very small in a seized drizzle over my chicken-I could not taste the truffle. I had that same watery cheese or butter sauce that was in my mom's grits - if my bowl was tilted, it would've poured out like raw milk. The green beans were the saving grace-cooked properly with crunchy pancetta on top. That is where I focused most of my bites. My stepfather and sister-in-law both got fish fillets that were sautéed, and they had no complaints that were voiced. We also ordered 2 entrees to go of the Fried Catfish-just as the catfish was in my brother's basket, the catfish was flacid, not crispy, and accompanied by the same greasy fries that were not fried properly or timely. The atmosphere in this restaurant is much better than my mother's prior visit. It is a gorgeous restaurant, but some areas feel more romantic while some areas feel like you're eating at a strip mall restaurant. We were in the area with little table lamps, and some ambience. My mother said when they came before it felt like it was just all white and very cramped, and they have added some lights and space out the tables more generously. My mother stated that she is never coming back to this establishment, still talking today about how frustrated she is with taking two of our family members to this restaurant for a birthday dinner and having such a disappointing meal -it cast a shadow over the entire celebration. Our waitress was lovely and mostly attentive and orchestrated two customized birthday desserts for the Birthday "boys." The crème brûlée was cut in square slices - a bit denser than I've tasted or made crème brûlées; however, the torched or broiled sugar tops were done exactly as they should be - you could crack the tops with your fork and then take a bite of the creamy custard with the crunchy sugar. It was the best food that I tasted at this restaurant the entire night. They have a lot of desserts, so maybe try this restaurant as a place to get coffee and dessert first or try the sushi bar. My mother stated that she wishes we had gone to Boudreaux's, more economical for better New Orleans food, or Red Moon for properly cooked seafood + amazing shrimp and grits. My mom and I have had the $10 family-style meal at lunch, which is a bargain, and if one of the items is not cooked 100%, no one is going to get upset based on expectations. This is a very clever concept to have three restaurants in one; however my family can't recommend the seafood "heart" of this restaurant. read more

This was a recommendation from a lab coworker while on my business trip a couple of weeks ago. What a fancy place! It was rainy when I came in, but the place was warm, clean, nicely lit, and inviting. I guess there's a back seating area? as I was seated up front by the bar and sushi bar (and saw customers leave from a back area). The service was great! My server was super patient with me as I couldn't decide what to order. I went with the Christmas roll (with fried Catfish- when in the South!) and the Seafood basket. All of it was delicious! So the wife and I have been trying to get by Oceans for a while. Finally we were able to make it happen. The staff was mostly friendly, host made us feel as if we annoyed him by showing up, but everyone else was very pleasant. Appetizers! Chargrilled oysters, they were good, but not as good as the actual ones from NOLA. The copious amount of garlic and butter were missing. There was nothing to soak up with the bread. Blue point oysters (6) were very fresh and tasty. The fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce paired well and added some zing. Sashimi plate of tuna and salmon was excellent. The large pieces had to be cut in half but were so tender. Sushi rolls (King Arthur, Big momma, rainbow) were all extremely good. Large portions and lot's of fresh sushi. We would order any of these again. The King Arthur roll was our favorite topped with American wagyu beef slightly seared. I ordered the prime rib medium. It was slightly over cooked but had great flavor. Wasn't as tender as I was hoping. The home made creamy horseradish sauce was really good. I ordered the green beans and asparagus sides. Came here for my uncle's birthday! The food here is delicious and service is friendly. The restaurant got pretty busy halfway through the meal just to show how popular it is! The alligator roll is delicious! Flavorful and a bit sweet. You don't need to dip it in soy sauce since there's a sauce already on it. However I cannot recommend the second sushi roll we got, the King Arthur roll. It was mostly rice and only had cucumber and a bit of crab inside. It was really bland. Not sure if they just forgot the Wagyu beef on top or something but it definitely did not have anything special about it. I got the broiled salmon - it's well seasoned and flaky! Decent size too! I got it with a brown butter sauce and that made it even moreThe brussel sprouts that came with it were charred and they were very soft. The mashed potatoes were good too. Was so thrilled to finally be trying Oceans as I've heard nothing but good things. The service was wonderful. Unfortunately, I can't in good conscience recommend the sushi. The sashimi platter was completely butchered. Comically large, unevenly cut chunks of fish were placed on the plate. There was no attempt at slicing the fish into slender, much less manageable pieces as is customary with sashimi. The tuna was strange tasting. Half of the platter was left uneaten. The chilled shellfish platter was pretty good. Again, the sushi was a disappointment here. Because it's sitting on ice, the nigiri is served way too cold and completely affects the taste and mouthfeel. The shrimp tasted like it was boiled in egg water. The rest of the platter was excellent. If you're thinking of the calamari. Skip it. 100% frozen and a sad portion at that. Really expected more from a dinner that was nearly $300. tl;dr Don't get the sushi. Then again, probably sound advice no matter where you are in Arkansas. read more

This will be a precise review of my visit to Oceans at Arthur's. I place the order at 5:18, they tell me the order will be ready in 35 minutes. I pull up to the restaurant at 5:50 and sit while my food is getting cold, I finally have time call at 6:03 and they said "let me go see if the food is ready". I am very confused. Why do you ask the color of my vehicle when you're apparently not going to bring my food out. Interesting that the people before me got their food, the customer who pulled up after me, they received their food and left and I have to call to get mine brought out. After all of that I wouldn't complain much if the food was fresh and my order was correct. Nope. I requested a side of Spicy Mayo, stated twice, please add a side of spicy mayo. I didn't receive that, my wife's order was a tuna bowl with (seared white tuna) instead of the ahi. They seared the ahi and sent that with me. The zip zap shrimp appetizer is absolute trash. They breaded some round shrimp, small small shrimp and then fried it and put it in a container with some sauce. This appetizer was tasteless and the shrimp were cold. On top of that their menu says the order of shrimp is $11 but they charged me $14, the sushi bowls show $19 on the menu and they charged me $22. I called to let them know that my order was wrong and as we sat in front of ahi tuna, the manager want to argue that the chef says he put seared white tuna in the order. He may have put it in someone else's but as I explained to the manager I know the difference between white and red. The frustration I feel is in the fact that this restaurant considers itself one of the higher tier restaurants in Little Rock when this is nothing close to the truth. The hostess taking my order was short and rude and when I called back to let them know I had issues she was ruder and rushed me off the phone. I am putting photos up of the pricing and how that changed with no info. I would like to be refunded for the difference. I will now be taking my business to basically any other restaurant in little rock that serves great sushi. This experience has been absolutely ridiculous and par for thr course now for this restaurant. I rate them a 1 star. They deserve less. read more

I loved the layout of Ocean's which has various seating options. However, unfortunately I was underwhelmed by my overall Ocean's experience. I ordered sushi and it tasted "ok". I'm a sucker for presentation. I thought my plate could have been more visually appealing. Wiping off the leftover "sauce smudges" and a little garnish would have helped elevate the overall appearance of the plate. I asked the waitress for some sauce to pair with my sushi. After waiting a bit, I started looking around the restaurant to see if I could locate the waitress. The manager must have noticed me looking for her and stepped in to assistance (which I appreciated). My friend ordered the shrimp fettuccini. She enjoyed the shrimp but the sauce not so much, it's was tasteless. Again, we tried finding our waitress (no salt and pepper on the tables) but was unable to locate her. We were seated right away, but there were fries all on the floor next to our table the entire time we were there. Our server was nice, but it took a while to have our order taken. We ordered the crab dip appetizer thinking it would come out pretty fast. 26 minutes later it comes out and it's barely warm. The pita bread was warmer than the dip. We didn't complain about it bc we were hungry. Our server said since we waited so long, she would take it off our check, she didn't. The crab dip was just ok. We had to search for the crab pieces. Seems like it was mostly cream and corn. We also had the New England clam chowder and some kind of rib robata. The clam chowder was a bit salty, but had a ton of clams. The ribs were great! Vegas bomb was ok. Salmon bowl was just ok, nothing to rave about. We've had better at smaller in & out restaurants. Bottom line, I was NOT impressed at all by my first visit to Ocean's. Waiting so long to get drinks and our appetizer did not make me want to come back. Pretty good. Second time dining here. First time I had the sushi which is fantastic. The second time I had ordered the Sea bass. It was perfectly cooked. But most importantly the Spinach salad thingy I ordered was soooo delicious! I took advantage of Arthur's Prime menu so either way still good. Server was nice. However I really do not like the space. It throws me off. Not sure why but the tables are oddly placed and it is like folks are listening to your entire conversation. Next time I will probably do take out. Ok! So. If you're in Little Rock, Arkansas and you're having brunch, but you're not brunching at the holy grail of well-kempt brunch buffets... you're doing it WRONG! All wrong. I usually can deal with a buffet. The hands touching all of the handles and everything else that I'm touching, the masses and passers by interacting (on even the most minute level) with my food, the impersonal feel of the food care and preparation (that's not a real thing, but in my mind it is and I associate it with all buffets)-- Just all of it usually gives me pause. But, strangely, not at Oceans! I visited for Sunday brunch blindly and didn't realize I was dealing with a buffet situation until after I arrived. But, once I (had a mimosa in hand and) laid eyes on the extensive range of food offerings, the cleanliness, the manned omelette and waffle stations, and (Good Lord) the desserts... all of my buffet issues sorta' slipped my mind! Randomly, the also have good music streaming in the buffet room. I remember singing while waiting for my omelette to finish being prepared! I will say that my only hang-up with Oceans was the lack of efficiency in plate clearing. We sat with dirty plates on our table a bit too long for my taste, and being that I was in a party of 6, we had plates for days and started stacking them in the center ourselves. There they sat. Overall, Oceans at Arthur's delivered. Brunchin' is my thing and I was pleasantly surprised with the selection at Oceans.
