This golf course is a hidden gem. We have a timeshare condo in the area. I found this course last year. Played it twice now. Both time in excellent condition. Friendly staff and reasonable beer prices. Restaurant and lounge on site, nice driving range and putting green. This is a very unique place. It is a little rustic and gives you a feeling like you are playing golf in a period piece. Everyone is friendly and engaging. It looks a little bit like an "I Dream Of Genie" set. The course conditions were great. I think it is in better shape than almost all other public courses in the area. Greens are firm, fast and true. It is really well set up to walk. We were behind walkers and never really felt held up. They don't do tee times which is weird. This makes the starter really important so take care of him and he will get you out quick. This is not an upscale country club. If that is what you are looking for go somewhere else. No Mango scented hand towels. This place is old Florida Americana. Course conditions are the most important component to me. I will be back. read more

Checked in at the pro shop and went for a great breakfast. The starter Leo was super nice and came and got us at breakfast when it was time to go. The course was in better shape than others (drought) and the lunch afterward was super. Very cool 1950's era clubhouse with nice pics and scorecards of some famous players who were there. Not a bad course, restaurant is pretty good too. The only issue is Jim (I think that's his name) in the pro shop who collects the fees. He's incredibly unfriendly and rude every time we've gone there. I really don't understand why he's so unfriendly, but a change needs to be made, he shouldn't be customer facing. read more

Established in 1953 Riviera Country Club still has all the old school charm and nostalgia of that era, although I've never hit a ball here I've been here on several occasions for dinner and cocktails. It definitely has been well maintained and I doubt if there have been many renovations to the club house over the years its decor and dark wooden finishes have been preserved to reflect the history of this club. The bar and dining areas are dated and that's one of the attractive qualities that I enjoy every time I come here. The staff is just as polished and provides great service and the food although simple is presented very well and delicious. I wouldn't change a thing. read more

A few colleagues and I were in town and had a free morning and ended up playing 18 here. We didn't have anything with us (clubs, golf attire, etc) but this place was perfect for us. Everyone was friendly and this definitely felt like 'Old Florida'. It's really quite charming. Everything was about $70, including 18 holes, cart, balls, and club rentals. It's not the most beautiful course but was great for our intermediate group! Would definitely recommend :) read more

This is the most wonderful little golf course you will ever come across. From the moment you enter the premises, their is a feeling in the air that rings of happiness and good old fashioned charm. The greens are well kept year-round, thanks to their superintendent Fred Rich. The facility is run by the Meyers family, a humble, down-to-Earth group of some of the best people I've ever come across. The rates are unbeatable for such a high-quality experience, it is truly a treat for golfers of any skill level. The course isn't particularly long, with scoring opportunities for skilled golfers, but mid-level players must work their way around various challenges that include well placed water hazards, strategically located trees, and fast greens that can occasionally be firm. Ever since they moved to Champions Bermuda 6 or 7 years ago, no public golf course in Volusia county has been able to match the quality of the greens. However, the quality of the greens is only surpassed by the quality of the people that make Riviera the pure golfing experience that it is. If you're a local who has never played here, or a tourist just stoping by, work out time to play this gem. I promise you won't regret it. read more

Loved breakfast at the Riviera Country Club this morning. The ambiance was perfect for a drizzly day. And the portions were outstanding. Our server Miss Roberta was attentive, helpful and informed us about the evening dinners on Fridays and Saturdays. Which often include prime rib or fish with a salad bar. It's a great deal for the money in a quaint setting. Not pretentious. Or snooty. Go check it out for yourself. And maybe check into the golf aspect of the club while you're there. The golf course is in very good shape with fast greens. The bunkers are in poor shape and could really use a little improvement. Most staff was polite and friendly, especially in the restaurant. However the man that collected our green fees was very rude and rude to several other customers, while we were there. I think improvement would be necessary. Visited while on vacation. Walked on at 7:30 with no issues. Course was in great shape, not very long but that was good for a course that I was not familiar with. Every staff member a interacted with seemed pleased to have me here. From the guys in the pro shop, the starter, maintenance crew, and bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Great price, course was in great shape, staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We brought our clubs but didn't have room to pack our bags and they let us use some bags at no charge. 18 with cart $30 plus tax round took about 3 hours 30 minutes. First come first served tee times. I would highly recommend for any skill level. read more

Just tried to play their today . The starter is very disrespectful and kicked us off the corse after cursing at me and the people I was with for being to slow after we had already told him we had a new golfer with us. Also he is a military veteran but I guess that didn't matter to him. He has a business to run he said. Well I guess the establishment doesn't care for military vets that make the sacrifice for you to even live the way you can. I've played there before with no hassles. Maybe the guy was upset because he has to work Christmas Eve I don't know. But be aware they don't care if you're a veteran or not they will still treat you like crap if you play slower than the starter thinks you should. read more

Very nice course and very friendly staff. Really enjoyed playing here. The price was reasonable/cheaper than others. The range has good yardage markers, and practice green, bunkers and chapping area were similar to the course. If you practice all of them before game, you will reduce your scores. read more
