This place has delicious breakfast sandwiches. Whenever we stay overnight we get yummy bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwiches. This place also has delicious soft serve and hard serve ice cream in quite a variety of flavors. Inside there's drink coolers and minimal other snack items. My husband likes their ice coffee stations so you can fix your drink to your liking. We haven't had the other food but the window is often busy and there are various other breakfast and lunch options as well as other ice cream desserts. The window service is fast and friendly and the location across from the bathhouse makes this a convenient place to go for food or drinks when at long sands. read more

The old reviews are stale. There's nothing stale about this place now. Friendly service. Fresh food. Decent prices. Last night, I ordered a grilled chicken with provolone on tomato basil wrap - the lettuce was fresh/clean and tasty tomato - very tasty wrap. Went back tonight and ordered steak & cheese sub - roll was fresh, meat was juicy and not greasy. Sweet potato fries were great -- crispy, not greasy. While waiting, the soft serve cones handed out to other customers looked delicious. Lots of picnic tables with umbrellas out front, especially with the sun low and the cool ocean breezes. Wish I could give it less than one star. 28 years of patronage and this year was horrendous. Rude staff and couldn't get an order right even after reviewing with me twice. Did pick up and brought home and was overcharged, charged for extras that I did not receive and one that I didn't even order. Called back and the phone call was a waste of my time. If you do go here DO NOT VARY FROM THE MENU POSTED. They cannot handle the slightest substitution or extra. And in the end they couldn't give 2 S--ts it you are satisfied or not! For the many vacationers nearby this is a nice little quick place to run into if you need some quick necessities...such as milk, sunscreen, bread etc. Prices weren't crazy either. Swing in if you need something really quick! read more

Oceanside Store - the outside of the store - Convenience Stores Near Me - York, Maine

This place doesn't deserve the one star I gave it. We've been here almost a week and have been looking forward to our seafood takeout from Oceanside. After reading the reviews I never thought this would happen. We arrived at Oceanside Store and walked up to the order window and placed our dinner order to go. I ordered the Captain's Plate and my wife the Fish and Chips. The young girl at the window was very polite and helpful in answering our questions. After placing our order we were given our ticket and stepped aside to wait for it. Shortly after placing our order the young girl came out and apologized for the inconvenience and proceeded to tell us they were out of scallops. She asked if we wanted more shrimp, fish, or clams in place of the scallops. Seeing as the scallops were the high ticket item in the meal I asked to have more of everything in place of them. The young girl went back into the store I assume to address the issue with the order. About 20 minutes later she came back out and exclaimed the order was almost ready and was there anything else we wanted salt, pepper, ketchup, or tarter sauce. We asked for extra tarter sauce and she disappeared back into the store and five minutes later she came out with the order and we were on our way back to our place to enjoy our meal. We sat and opened our containers to eat and my Captain's Plate had a small cardboard piece of fish, two shrimp, two clams and more fries then any one person could eat. I immediately closed the lid tossed it back in the bag and walked back to the Oceanside store. After speaking with the "manager" on duty who seemed to not really care asked "what do you want to do?" "Want your money back?" I asked for the refund but as he moved around the store looking lost, confused, and not knowing what to do I proceeded to ask him to just make the order right and remake it for me. As I stood there watching him remake the order one of his workers came out from the back of the kitchen and proceeded to place a bag of scallops in the refrigerator unit in the prep area. W.T.F. I thought to myself. I was told you were out of scallops and there they are. I bit my lip took my remake which again wasn't worth the value I paid for and headed out. Walked back to the house only to find my wife's meal was just as bad. Instead of one piece of cardboard fish she had two. We ended up sharing what little meal I managed to bring back. If you want a quick meal Oceanside isn't the place. read more

It is far more than a convenience store. It's a takeout joint across from the public restrooms on Long Sands. They are few and far between so an oasis despite its mediocrity. Sweet young lady busting rump on a gorgeous Mother's Day evening. She was working the front solo and did an incred job keeping up. I'm sure the cook was also bustin a move out back. The menu will satisfy all, from pbj to pizza, fried whole bellies (they were tasty and not greasy!), to a fresh fish sandwich (hit his spot) and lobster roll (just okay), burgers looked decent, exceptional sweet potato fries and onion rings, salad offerings, and a lot more. The clam chowder was thick, buttery and enjoyed by some. The foodies were underwhelmed but your average Joe would dig it. They offer fountain drinks (coke products) and an extensive ice cream menu and shakies. $160 bucks fed 11 of us (7 adults, 4 kiddos) so it ain't cheap but it's reasonable for what and where. Nothing to write home about but a decent offering. Not for foodies but his the spot, quick enough and hugely convenient. read more

I was there last Friday after walking out of a place down the street, due to horrible customer service. I've always liked the Oceanside but I was not sitting near this end of the beach, so just figured it would be more convenient to go to the General Store since it was closer- not the case. I ordered a lobster roll at the Oceanside Store. Not only was the customer service 100% better than down the street, it is cleaner and when ordering, was asked whether I wanted reg. fries, seasoned, sweet potato or onion rings. I know this isn't a huge deal but it's nice to have those different options - just another nice touch. This place is also extremely organized. People order, pay and get a ticket. Your # is called at the pick up window when your food is ready. There are picnic tables in front and there were many people sitting and eating there, which is usually always a good sign! Their lobster roll was great and the next day, I went back for a breakfast sandwich, which was also really good! They also sell Congdons (well known donut shop in Wells) donuts in the morning, for those who enjoy them and don't want to drive to Wells. Keep up the great work, everyone,at Oceanside! It was nice to be greeted with a smile and pleasant attitude especially in the midst of your lunch rush. It's even more appreciated after receiving lack of customer service down the street...and they didn't even have a line! read more
