Stopped on the way through York read the reviews. I have to agree the lobster roll with chips - very very good. Love the freshness of the bun and lobster. You don't get much for 25$ but I guess that's the current economy. Would be five stars except they sell beer but you can't consume it while you eat Very strange. read more

I've been driving past this place on trips (via the scenic coastal route) to Ogunquit & Kennebunkport for many, many years. I've just never stopped in. Recently, on one such trip my partner was itching for a lobster roll, so we stopped in. First things first, the lobster rolls were amazing (we both had one)! They were packed with choice, large pieces of lobster and the were very lightly dressed. We loved the fact that they weren't turned into a lobster salad with chucks of celery and sliced lettuce. A+++ on the lobster rolls. But everything else about this place C-minus, or worse... We ordered our lobstah rolls with the coleslaw for a side. It came in small, plastic containers that were either delivered that way, or made in house a day or two before. Ours had a brownish hue and we could not bring ourselves to try them. I ordered a clam chowder that was overly thickened (by a lot) and was big on potatoes and short on clams. The staff was super young and inexperienced. I felt like they were trying to do the right thing, but didn't know how. We even ever heard one of the kitchen staff yelling at another who had just swept the floor and did clean-up in the dining room to go wash his hands before returning to kitchen duty. They refused. We couldn't site outside at one of the picnic tables because they were blasting music the staff liked (I'm guessing) on cheap outdoor speakers. Thankfully, it was not that way inside. However, they had the air-conditioning maxed out on a day that was on the cool side. That was probably great for the kitchen staff and the wait staff, who were all wearing sweatshirts, but not for their patrons. Everyone was goosebumped and nearly shivering, like us. *IF* I ever do come back for the GREAT lobster rolls, it will be a to-go order (hold the coleslaw). read more

We hoped that we could enjoy good lobster rolls but sadly, that was not to be. Both sisters felt that the lobster tasted soggy, yes, soggy & lacked flavor, to the point where we wondered if it had been previously frozen. We've stop here almost every time we're up in York ME. It's a little market that serves a delicious and budget friendly lobster roll at $10.99. It went up a flat since last summer. The bonus with the sandwiches are the hand made potato chips and a fresh dill pickle accompaniment s which takes the roll up several notches from the other lobster shacks. I read about the lobster BLT from another Yelper and completely agree. This is an amazing sandwich filled with twice the amount of lobster and crispy bacon at $19.99 but totally worth it. It feels like eating 2 of their normal sized lobster rolls. Staff are not over friendly - just really hard workers so don't expect to come here looking for friends. If you are heading to shore beach, this is a good spot to walk down and grab some lunch to bring back to the beach. If you want a reasonably priced lobster roll, they got you, if you want a sandwich, they got you. If your looking for something fancy, go to short sands and eat at one of the many restaurants in town you're at the wrong beach. Decided to take a ride and ended up in York Beach. Normal crowds were definitely not there so it was a nice day to walk around. We didn't see any restaurants that called to us in the beach area but as we were driving away passed Shore Road Market and decided to stop. A lobster roll (either Maine for mayo or Connecticut for butter) is only $10.99 which is a fantastic price. The menu has a lot to offer. We got two Maine lobster rolls and a bowl of haddock chowder for $7. Ordering was easy with everyone wearing masks and then you select a picnic table outside (which was so nice on a June day!) and they bring the food to you. There is a station outside with plastic silverware, napkins and a range of condiments. Our food only took about ten minutes. The lobster rolls were great. The size was good and they included some huge chunks of lobster. Heavenly. They came with home made chips and pickles. Nice and tart pickles. The chips were good and we actually dipped them into the haddock chowder. The haddock chowder was a huge portion. My only complaint was it didn't seem to have a lot of haddock as it was mostly thick broth and potatoes. I liked it but it was a bit different than haddock chowder I normally get. Very friendly service, plenty of outdoor seating and nice prices on all the menu items. We'll definitely stop in again! read more

This cute little side of the road eatery just made our trip! We love stopping short sands beach and walking around the main st but there's not a great seafood place around there. We decided to head up to Wells and along the way drove by the Shore Rd Market that had a sign that said "$9.99 Lobster Roll". We decided to stop and try the rolls. Best. Decision. Ever. The rolls were packed with lobster meat and the buns were grilled and buttery. I had a Connecticut roll which is warmed lobster coated in butter. My mom is allergic to seafood but it didn't stop her from eating. They have a full menu with plenty of options. She had the small buffalo tenders and they were great as well. Came here for a quick lunch on Sunday; Columbus Day weekend. It was not busy at all. Parking on site and a multitude of picnic tables to enjoy your food. Perfect spot to sit outside amongst the pumpkins (for sale) and enjoy a Lobster Slider with our beers. The sign says breakfast lunch and dinner but the breakfast is crossed off. Which kinda stinks since the yelp coupon is only good for breakfast. The food was great. I loved the slider portion since I tend to eat small plates.
