My son was diagnosed with pink eye when he had strep (he had minor discharge but nowhere what pink eye looks like) and then I took my son in again to make sure he didn't have strep again and they said his throat was a little red and there was a faint line on his rapid test. I couldn't see a faint line when they showed me and I didn't feel comfortable putting him on antibiotics so I called them five minutes after we left to cancel the culture and went to our pediatricians. No red throat and no strep. Staff is nice and place is clean but definitely won't be taking my kids back. It's become a waste of money to receive incorrect diagnoses.

I normally go to city MD for COVID rapid tests, however given my schedule it was more convenient to…read moremake an appointment at this Northwell Health Urgent Care. Oh how WRONG I was. First Issue: I made an appointment online and took the last appointment. However, I wanted my boyfriend to get a COVID test as well so I called and they made an appointment for him. We arrive to our appointment, he has the link confirming his appointment and Oceanside says they don't have him down. So somehow, whoever I spoke with scheduled him for Rockville's location. Second issue: when I called the receptionist stated they take my insurance. I get there and they DO NOT. I was told that the cost would be $195 out of pocket. The lady at the front desk looked at me like I was in poverty and said "you can go to city MD for free there are a lot of free testing sites." I NEEDED the test that day so I just paid and got a bill to get reimbursed by my insurance due to federal laws and COVID testing. Third issue: I get a receipt with nothing but my information and the amount paid. Knowing I would need an itemized receipt I asked for one and was denied due to the fact it had medical information-they tried using HIPPA as an excuse for laziness. I have always been able to get an itemized receipt as it is MY medical information. After being rudely told to go to city MD I didn't want to continue to argue with the receptionist. FINALLY! I call billing to receive an itemized receipt, and they tell me I was OVERCHARGED. I am being refunded 70 dollars and getting my itemized receipt. I can only imagine how much money this location has stolen from people during a pandemic. Convenience of having an appointment system means nothing when the service is awful and you get overcharged. Do not recommend anybody coming here.

So urgently did what I had to do...Northwest Health-GoHealth right down road was the answer. When you walk in you sign in on an electronic tablet, which I suppose very convenient for you and them. Was greeted immediately with a smile and additional clipboard of needed detail on why your there. Literally within 5-10 minutes all was completed, co-payment and all. Shortly after that was directed to a large, spacious, clean, sterile room to wait for doctor. Initially medical tech takes you vitals and asks a bunch of generally questions. Figure another 5-10 minutes with that, then the pass off to the doctor. A quick efficient review of situation with doctor. All is confirmed and you are on your way with report page in hand and out of there in 40 minutes. Absolutely amazing!! I could wait 30 minutes or more in the regular doctors waiting room. Can clearly see why these type of locations have popped up just about everywhere. Experience was good and would recommend this location to others. In addition to going back again if need be.

He finally gave me his name after multiple requests that were responded with a no. His name is Roumani Abdelkrim I explained to him that i had a sinus infection, which is get several times a year. I also explained that the only treatment that works for me was an antibiotic His response was that he was the doctor and he will NOT give me antibiotic I tried multiple times to let him know about my previous history and each time he said he was the doctor and is not giving me antibiotic I told him that I was canceling the appointment and leaving As mentioned, he refused to give me his name until the receptionist gave me the name of the office manager Stay away from this place. there are many others to choose from that are actually interested in your well being instead of remaining an arrogant doctor

Two days later I called and told them my symptoms were worse and I think I needed an antibiotic. They told me that I needed to wait 10 days. I called back the next day and explained to them that I believed I had an infection based on the color and the amount of nasal discharge I was experiencing. I felt worse, despite using the netipot and over the counter cold meds. Again, I was told I needed to wait 10 days. I was so frustrated that I called an ENT in Melville and they took me immediately. I had a raging sinus infection and my right eardrum was very inflamed blocking it from opening and causing me muffled hearing. I was put on prednisone and an antibiotic. When the issue didn't resolve, I went to the ER at NYU Langone and they said everything was still very inflamed in the ear. They put me on another antibiotic and sent me to their team in Garden City. That ENT gave me steroid for the ear, told me to continue the antibiotic and has seen me several times to manage my blocked ear. It is now 9 weeks later and I still have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. This all could have been avoided if that initial doctor at AFC would have let me come back each time (twice) I called to have them look at me again. A simple cold turned into a raging infection that has now left me with ETD. I will never go to another AFC. I knew something was wrong, but this doctor thought he knew better than me without re-checking me. I don't understand it, it was my dime. So unprofessional!

I have nothing but praise for the emergency room staff of doctors and nurses. I'm sorry I was in so much pain that I don't recall names but to the woman at the desk who whisked me in to the E.R. staff I want to say thank you so very much! Now to the nurses on the 2nd floor G Wing I believe I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sorry if I kept you busy changing 50 bags of fluid that kept my catheter flowing. You nurses are truly dedicated, hard working and go above and beyond. Special shout out to the ones whose names I can remember and those I don't . Amanda, Litzy, Brandon, Maria, Brianna and Tom the RN that was called in when I had an episode. You guys rock. Again thank you all that took care of me when I ended up at Mt. Sinai.

I also had nausea, a headache, and other symptoms that were concerning enough that I sought emergency care. While I appreciate that blood work, urine testing, and a CT scan were performed, the way I was treated throughout my visit left me feeling dismissed and dehumanized. As my visit went on, I felt increasingly rushed. I was told that they needed my bed for another patient, and from that point forward I felt like the priority was getting me out of the room rather than making sure I understood my care or felt comfortable with the plan. I understand emergency departments are busy, but patients deserve to be treated like people, not like they're simply occupying the next bed. The communication surrounding my diagnosis was also very concerning. When I questioned it because it didn't seem to fit the symptoms I experienced, I was told it was being put down "for insurance purposes." That statement completely undermined my confidence in the explanation I was being given. I left feeling confused rather than reassured. One of the most upsetting parts of my visit was overhearing a staff member talking about me. I distinctly heard the words "she" and "weird." Whether they were referring to me or my symptoms, hearing that while I was lying in a hospital bed was deeply hurtful and unprofessional. Patients are already in a vulnerable position, and no one should leave feeling disrespected. I also felt that my questions were brushed aside instead of answered. I wasn't looking for an argument. I wanted to understand the reasoning behind my diagnosis and why my symptoms were attributed to it. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were minimized. I work in healthcare myself, so I understand that emergency departments are busy and that staff work under tremendous pressure. I was not expecting perfection. I was expecting professionalism, respectful communication, and to be treated with dignity. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened during this visit. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future patients don't leave feeling the way I did.
