    Shredded Beef Chimichanga
    Stan G.

We stopped in for an early dinner because we were in the mood for some good Mexican food. The prices seemed reasonable. While we received a friendly greeting and were attended to quickly, the food was just underwhelming. I ordered the Shredded Beef Chimichanga and my wife ordered the Taco, Tostada and Flauta Combo. The shredded beef was pretty much flavorless and mostly dry on both the taco and the chimichanga. We were both wondering where seasoning was for our meals. And my wife said the flauta was nothing to write home about either. The decor was pleasant with a typical Mexican theme and soft Mexican music was playing over the sound system.

This was the worst food I ever had. Couldn't even finish it. The waiter was really rude. Negative -10 stars for this restaurant.

Inside is pretty fantastic, especially if you like a festive feel with lots of TVs to keep up with your sports while you dine. Our server was new, and said he couldn't make any recommendations on food because he hadn't tried anything. We chose combination plates to try different things. I'm always wary of Mexican restaurants that make you pay for chips and salsa. Yes, the salsa is made to order tableside, but to not even offer a red sauce to go with entrees!!! Oh you can buy some - made tableside. This is a big miss! Food presentation was nice, especially the small salad with radishes. You get 1 small cup of green sauce if you want sauce to go on your items. Didn't understand the meats all being done on the trompo. Usually pastor is done that way, but not asada etc .. The menu is attractive but seems disjointed - not a lot of description on dishes, and because of how it's presented, not a lot of variety. For example, a taco dorado is often a hard shell taco as opposed to soft or street taco style. Their dorado is a potato taco? Is it like a flauta? Took a while to get my beer, and my water glass was empty a very long time until I asked our server to fill it and for another green sauce. That never came until I reminded him when he brought our tab. He didn't check on us at all during our meal, but hung out in the bar area. That's right, he was new. Hope he improves because most guests won't dig his style of service.

After a bad experience the day prior, I used ChatGPT to input our family requirements: kid-friendly, delicious, unique, 1 vegetarian, not too far off the interstate. We ended up choosing this spot and it did not disappoint! Everything was so delicious and flavorful and had a home cooked vibe. The service was quick and kind. Between all of us we ate 2 gorditas, a CG burrito (with the most delicious red sauce doused on top), shrimp tacos, asada tacos and the famed quesobirria. OH MY GOD. Everything was soooooo good. Even the beans are worth calling out. I was joking we should stop in Casa Grande for the night just so we could go back for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend this place. One weird thing is they only had 3 menus total in the entire restaurant but I'm willing to overlook that for the deliciousness.

Well, today happened to be Tuesday and outside of their door they had posted specials and one was for Taco Tuesday. Three tacos for about eleven dollars and some change. So I took advantage of that and ordered one adobada and two chicken tacos. The tacos were brought out with three bottles of salsa; one green, two reds at different spice levels. The tacos fell flat! The adobada was hard and crispy with little flavor. The meat was cut too small in my opinion, which may have resulted in its crispness. The two chicken tacos were bland, lacked flavor. I did like the fact they were cut thicker and were meaty and juicy. But it needed seasoning. The sauces also lacked flavor. None were spicy. Even the small bottled red salsa which I assumed was the spicier one wasn't spicy at all. After this experience, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, but you'll never know! Like I said, I love Peruvian food; so maybe that's where their forte lies!

We got the taco combo plate and 3 single tacos. I chose the chicken, pork and steak and he got chicken, steak and birria ($1.25 extra). First off, these street tacos are packed with meat which was good to see. I love trying street tacos and I've tried many. For me, the flavor of the al pastor (pork) was the best of the meats. Second to that was the steak. The others didn't have a lot of noticeable flavor imo. I did slather each of them in the red and green salsas to add some moisture and added heat. As for the side of rice and beans, I liked the beans, they were cooked well and had good flavor. The rice we got was hard and seemed to have been in a warmer or something for too long since it was crispy and dry. This could have been a "one off" type situation. The interior dining area is small but that's to be expected for this type of taco shop. The staff there today seemed nice and genuinely care about their customers.
