We waited a couple of hours and the room was still not ready at the new guaranteed time. The first room they offered us would not open so they gave us another room, but then when we went into the second room, it totally was not made ready for new guests. Check out all of the photos attached. The bed was not made and clearly used by prior hotel guests. The bathroom didn't have all of the lights functioning, but worse had towels that were dirty and we're all hung up together on the hook. Trash was not taken out. The room also was set to such a high temperature that I could not adjust nor put on any AC in the thick of summer heat. Outside there was a dead rodent right outside the patio that looks like it had been sitting there for a long time. The worst part is when I complained about this, the person who answered was very Flippin did not apologize and was very defensive saying that they were swamped. I understand that it was a holiday weekend, but to deny my experience and not offer anything aside from a dinner was reprehensible and totally not anywhere near the kind of service that a four star resort should offer. The following morning to placate us, they left a basket of perishable items, but didn't even check in with us and so by the time we opened it with the heat and hours sitting there, it was not edible anymore. Organization was also an issue because when I tried going to yoga, I got there early and per the attached signs. Everyone was supposed to meet there. I waited and waited called the front desk, asked where it was supposed to be even called the phone number listed on the sign yet did not find the class eventually I hitched a ride with the resorts golf cart and they drove me to the usual hiking place and I ran after the group to try to catch up, but I already missed part of the hike and it clearly was the fault of whoever organized it. I travel a lot and have stayed at many resorts all over the world, and this was the most disorganized and horrible service, especially considering the bad experience we went through. There were no offers to comp our bill or to make it right. Just excuses I would stay away from this until it has new management.

As for the bed, the best I can say is that it wasn't uncomfortable. I stayed in the annex, the smaller building next to the main hotel. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. The carpets in the hallways were extremely dirty, and a musty smell hit me the moment I opened the door--just as it did inside the room. The walls throughout the hotel and in my room were covered in scuff marks and grime. The room itself felt dingy. There was a persistent, unpleasant odor that I couldn't quite place--maybe it was the drapes, the furniture, the walls, or all of the above. The floor didn't seem very clean either. The air conditioner was very loud, making it hard to relax. The coffee maker was old and hadn't been cleaned properly. It's a shame the property isn't better maintained. With a bit more pride in upkeep--regular cleaning and a basic facelift--this place could be much more inviting. As it stands, I don't feel the room was worth what I paid, and I won't be returning.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is not being properly maintained or managed. My room had broken fixtures and lamps, filthy walls, and bedding/drapes that were dark and dingy. The hallways were poorly lit and depressing. A bug even crawled across the bathroom floor. Noise was constant: a loud steakhouse next door, guests in the room beside me screaming and arguing the first night, and a dog left alone barking and howling for hours the next. I called the front desk and complained after 2 hours. The dog ended up tied to the back of a truck in the parking lot. The hotel claims to be pet-friendly, yet there was nowhere appropriate to walk a dog to go potty. The front desk clerk who checked me in looked about 12 years old--hardly reassuring when dealing with safety issues. Speaking of safety, the exterior doors to the building were not secure. One morning I walked out to my car and found a man crouched by the entrance smoking marijuana, so impaired I wasn't sure if he was even alive. Not exactly the feeling of comfort and security you want as a paying guest. This was my first visit to Prineville, and while the town itself is absolutely beautiful and welcoming, this hotel is an embarrassment sitting right in the middle of it. Until management completely overhauls this property, I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone stay here.

They still say it was the best $80 they spent during this trip :) The room was pretty big, with a small (but old) microwave, which is pretty convenient (which they had a small kitchenette, but most hotels don't). The bed were good and the whole place is clean. The breakfast spread isn't bad. They have yogurt, cereal, muffins, toast/waffles and K-cup coffee.. But when I was there, only decaf were left. The rooms are clean and well appointed. It's an older motel so don't expect everything to be the latest and greatest. But, the price ($65) per night was very reasonable. They have A/C, WiFi, fridge, microwave, coffee maker...no hair dryer though. Definitely not a flashy motel but no complaints

Then the constant foot traffic at all hours of the day and night through the parking lot, well that I even ignored. The constant knocking on the doors I would hear all night and loud shouting, even that I could sort of block out with ear plugs. But the moment I had to wake my son up at 4am due to smoke billowing out of the heater (no smoke alarms made any noise) because I feared the room was catching on fire...now that was just too much. Oh and then in the morning we found out someone stole medication from us. If I could give this place a true rating it would be a negative 5 stars!! That being said I would NEVER RECOMEND this place to ANYONE!!
