Great park! We stayed in the cabin because we were looking for cheap accommodations and dont own an rv. We had a blast. Cabin is adorable and affordable. About a mile from the reservoir. There is a gas station and diner across the street too. We were nervous when we pulled in because the park was packed with Rvs .. but the 3days and 4 the next weekend we barely saw anyone about. ( facebook workers) Outdoor pool was clean. Free showers on site. Game room had TV and AC Downside: Only 1 cabin. - But 3 A frames. 15min outta town We will be back anytime we need somewhere to stay in Prineville Hidden Gem for sure read more

Curently staying at the campground. Spaces are gravelled and recently levelled. We love we are so close to the reservoir and skies at night are smazing. Zero light pollution here. Its nice to find a park with 50amp service, full hookups, the big pull through spaces for the large 5vers. Being at 4000ft air is so crisp and clear. Cant wait to see what winter has in store. There is so much wildlife in the park deer, turkeys, quail, and in the distance even coyotes. Id give it 5 stars but its being upgraded as we speak. read more

I love this type of camping! To me, camping is NOT vacation. It means cooking 3 times a day by prehistoric means, constantly cleaning, nasty bathroom conditions and not much to do all day long. But not at Sun Rocks RV by Prineville Reservoir. This kind of camping i can handle. A person may choose tent spaces, RV hookups, small cabins or deluxe cabins. I choose deluxe cabin. (I've done the other three also and it's still a great time) I enjoy a clean bathroom nearby, showers, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and lots of open space to walk around without feeling like you are walking through some ones spot. Since we had 3 kids and 3 adults this time, we rented the two deluxe cabins. With a nice porch, bunk bed, queen bed, microwave, fridge, fan and table, we were set. The reservoir is only 1 mile away so we played hard every day on the boat (and behind the boat!) then swam in the pool in the early evening before making dinner. The camp hosts are great. They don't cram everyone together so every guest has some privacy and space. Check it out sometime. You won't be sorry. read more

We've been here for two years and we've seen a lot of changes. Our new manager, Katie, is amaze-balls. SHe has cleaned up the tent area, making it a nice place for non-rv campers. She is repainting the bathrooms, when the previous manager sprayed all the paint off. The spaces are now level and well maintained. The rent is very reasonable for the area The various amenities are better maintained now The park is now under a bit of construction but that doesn't affect the family feeling. Only about a 15 minute drive from town, the park is out about a mile from the reservoir. read more

This RV park is for sale and the current owners/managers have completely given up on the place. My husband and I wanted quiet time away and we got it, but this place is really empty and quiet. There are about 40 camp/tent sites and we were the ONLY campers there in a tent the entire three days we were there. Not a single RV pulled in to stay the entire time we were there and there are only a handful of RVs permanently staying there. We questioned leaving and going somewhere else, but all the places nearby were booked and we paid in full, online weeks before we went out there. We didn't see a maintenance person, they didn't ever empty the garbage cans around the place and we had to go to the office and ask that they change out the toilet paper in the tent area bathroom. The basketball court, the playground and even the pool are quiet and unused. The shower and restrooms are clean and nice, but again, they didn't empty the garbage cans the entire time we were there. And there was a guy in a brown pick up that came through every night, drove around the whole place, got back out on the road and then an hour later came back and did it again and again, night after night. He never got out of his truck. If you are worried you're going to get murdered while you sleep in a tent, this is not the place for you. It's run down, lonely, and neglected. The owners should just shut it down or stop taking reservations, because they clearly don't care about it anymore. read more

They are now under new ownership and management and both are working very hard to improve. My boyfriend and I stay there memorial day weekend 2017 in their log cabin (he proposed while we where there)! We had a great time the management is very helpful courteous and right on top of things. They have cleaned up the showers and are working their best to get all the campsite cleaned up! read more

Recent manager change has the atmosphere great through the park. There is a pool in the summertime which helps keep the kids busy! The reservoir isn't far down the road for fishing and hiking. The store and gas station restaurant across the street makes it nice to not have to drive into town. Beautiful views and wildlife every morning and night. Love it here! read more

This place is horrible. Made a reservation on a wed. Showed up on Friday ready to stay in a cabin and was told that I didn't have a reservation. Was told I could rent a small cabin for my family of four and a dog. Paid for it and went to look at it. It was dirty, to small, we opened a window and was told not to because transients seek in there. Then said we want a refund and we're leaving but was told no refund. We were there ten min. She said only half refund because she did what she could to make it right. Do not stay there. Very bad. read more
