But as a corporate entity, SightMD is abysmal, which almost negates having a great doctor. I was dealing with periorbital cellulitis over the past week and because my doctor wasn't available, I was sent to another SightMD doctor. This doctor told me I could stop the eyedrops (given to me over the weekend by urgent care) in two days. Glad I didnt, because the issue became worse. I called main number and was sent to a different doctor (#2), who gave me new eyedrops and said I should see lid specialist on Monday if it wasn't better. The appointment I had with the lid specialist today (Monday) was cancelled (understandable---that happens) and changed to two days later. When I asked the office person who called if it was OK to wait two days (my eye isn't better-possibly a bit worse and today is my last day of antibiotics) she just repeated that she couldn't ask dr. #2 , because he's not the lid specialist. But he's the one who saw my eye and recommended the lid specialist! Wouldn't he be the one who knew if it was OK to wait, since he's the last one who saw my eye? She just repeated (3x) that he's not the lid specialist. I have unsuccessfully tried to contact my own doctor. (What's the point of having a great doctor if you can't even ask a question?) Also, I was told to use the portal, but NOT told that it doesn't work. What practice these days doesn't use a workable portal? So I can't even ask a question of any of the doctors, only talk to phone reps or office assistants.

To my surprise, the rude office staff was actually an answering service.....Mary went out of her way to make sure my needs were met. I was quite upset about having to find another Opthalmologist as I truly believe Dr. Krawitz is one of the finest on Long Island, actually in New York. All is well. Mary managed to honor my appointment to see Dr Krawitz. She was extremely apologetic and I accepted the apology.

My eyesight had deteriorated after leaving the hospital, and went to Pearl for a long overdue exam. The Dr immediately said there was a bigger issue than he could handle and referred me to OCLI. While waiting for my appointment in Massapequa, I woke up largely blind in my right eye with long black strands over my field of vision. We called, and they were kind enough to move up our appointment... but in Huntington. Lots of tests and looking and meeting DR Bloom and Dr Brennan. I had bad cataracts on both eyes.... very bad in right along with what appeared to be some bleeding. To make a long story shorter..... Dr Bloom did both eyes, with the left being better IMMEDIATELY.... and ending up with 20/30 vision! The right did have some bleeding, but thankfully no retna issue.... just blood. DR Brennan tried several shots to clear it up, but surgery is necessary. We'll do that 11/19, From both doctors to everyone at the office, I've felt cared for and lucky to have found OCLI!

But if you value your time, know in advance that you won't be seen on time and it won't be a quick visit. I just returned from a 10:20AM appointment for my annual check-up, and I didn't walk out until 11:45AM. I spent about five minutes with the doctor, and the rest of the time was spent waiting to see him. And this was not an aberration. Every visit over the past 15 or so years is the same, frustrating story. I hope I never meet his office manager, because he or she would get a piece of my mind. It's not brain surgery. The answer is simple ... either spread out the appointments or schedule fewer patients.

I had an appointment with Dr. Tan who took her time and explained every step of the eye exam. She was informative, knowledgeable and very friendly. I got a pair of updated glasses and a new contact lens prescription, both of which have worked out nicely. Doctors nowadays are often criticized for having no bedside manner and apathy, not the case here. This practice is family owned with a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I would be coming back here for my yearly eye exam if I didn't moved cross country.
