Eye exam is free with $0 copay, but they applied $39; CL Fitting co-pay is $40, but they charged her $126); They failed to inform my daughter about the insurance coverage or the cop-pays at any stage and did unnecessary exams (ex. Retinal exam). At the end of the visit, she was charged almost couple of hundreds dollars extra. I went in person, and submitted insurance details again. They promised they will contact me and adjust the billing; No call even after 5 days and when I reached out to them, I was told that they have already billed insurance (for the insurance part) hence they can reverse or adjust our billing. Trying to exploit both the insurance as well as the patient.

I was willing to pay UP FRONT IN CASH, they still would not see me. I have an urgent eye health issue. As a new employee who started with my company in the last few weeks, I am fully covered and can be seen by ANY provider-- and have confirmed such with my HR department several times today. My insurance WILL PAY. However due to the holidays and employee availability, my coverage is not yet confirmed with my insurance provider BCBS. This is purely an administrative timing issue related to my recent start date-- and I would be fully covered in the event I was seen by any provider. However--- due to the self serving policy of Morris & Romanelli, they refuse to see me unless they can confirm I am covered WITH the insurance provider. It is 4 days before christmas, I have called over 36 different eye doctors, no one has appointments. I can see why Morris & Romanelli has an opening--- because they are heartless and their customers know it. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR, EVER!!! I am sure their greed and uncaring nature towards their neighbors (I live literally down the road) reflects in the care they give to their patients. I will be leaving this review in as many places as I can find to warn others about this practice. "We cant bend the rules for anyone, sir". "That would be fraudlent". Decided I should check my scripts and see a new eye dr. I called and made an appointment with Dr. Craig. They got me in that day and he spent a lot of time with me. He listened to all my concerns and gave me a lot of input and recommendations. I even got a thank you card in the mail a few days later and the doctor personally wrote some other suggestions on the card. I am feeling so blessed to have found him. With all I've been through and all the doctors I've seen, it's truly a blessing when you find a good compassionate doctor that doesn't just want you in and out of the office! Painful and frightening experience - I do not recommend this place…read more I visited Retina Group of New York in Hicksville on September 12, 2025, for a routine eye check-up. I didn't have any vision problemas - I just wanted to make sure everything was fine. The initial tests showed that my vision was 20/20 with glasses. The I saw Dr. Dang Suveera, who told. me there were some minor changes in the membrane behind my eye, but that it was normal for my age. She said she wanted to look more closely at the membrane behind my eyeball. I told her I was afraid because I though she might touch my eye with the metal instrument, and I said NO. Despite that, she insisted on doing the procedure. She said that if something went wrong, she could "drain the liquid in my eye chamber with a laser". That statement made me very nervous, but she didn't explain what exactly she was going to do. When I felt something touching and pressing on my eye, I panicked and pulled away. She stopped, but afterward I felt pain and discomfort for several days, and I still don't feel that my eye is the same. I regret allowing this to happen - I had no symptoms and didn't need that test. I left feeling violated and afraid. It seemed like she ignored my consent and did something unnecessary just to practice or check something that wasn't urgent. I'm sharing this so other patients know to ask questions, refuse any procedure they're not comfortable with, and be very cautious about what is done to their eyes.

I first worked with Dr. Maisel and now go to see Dr. Shah due to scheduling issues. They're both wonderful people and incredibly comforting while lasering your retina. The entire staff here is fantastic. Very nice, friendly, courteous, and keep you laughing while they run a million tests on your eyes. It makes the whole experience rather pleasant. The only downside is occasionally the wait can be long. It's a popular practice with lots of patients and even with COVID, it's still taking quite some time to be seen. But once they do get you in the back it's in and out.

Misdiagnosed, scammed and I'm pissed. My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Wianecka in Babylon…read morefor YEARS now. I had an issue with my eye and Dr. Wianecka wasn't in the office so I saw her colleague Dr. Blum. The problem I had was on my upper eyelid not inside my eye, this is key to my story. She diagnoses me with something prescribed me some an ointment to put on my upper eyelid for a few times a day. Dr. Blum offered no suggestion as to what caused this or how it happened. I tried the ointment and my eye immediately got extremely itchy and was getting worse not better so I called the office back and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wianecka 2 days later. This is where it gets even more unprofessional and pathetic. Dr Wianecka sees me, I explain the situation and she says no I don't think it's what the other doctor said...two doctors same group not on the same page...pretty odd. Then she proceeds to try and blame me for the issue that occurred, and said must be an allergic reaction to something. Meanwhile, Ive eaten nothing new, no new soaps, fragrances, shampoos, laundry detergent, NOTHING, so it 1000% is not from that, very lame to blame it on the patient just because you don't know why the problem is occurring. Then she says oh the ointment that Dr. Blum prescribed has a high % of people who reported bad reactions to it...WHY WAS I PRESCRIBED THIS!? She then insists to put these eye drops in my eye meanwhile yet AGAIN I told her the issue is outside of my eye it's on my eyelid and then wanted to prescribe me an eye steroid drop. No good reason as to why either was prescribed. She made it sound like the drops she showed me in office would be cheap only to find out when I walked out I'm hit a ANOTHER $50 copayment, plus $30 for these drops. Why am I being charged another copay when I was MISDIAGNOSED and not properly treated which caused me to go back to your office TWO days later. This is disgusting behavior and I'll never go here again. I ended up going to another eye doctor and got my problem fixed immediately. The fact that I was charged another copayment when it wasn't my fault along with all of the other issues is insane. Go find another doctor that actually cares.
