Referred by a friend, I made an appointment for a consultation for a tooth that has been bothering me. Dr. Chaffin was very kind, as was the rest of the staff. I've had trouble recently finding a dentist within my insurance (BCBS AZ), which seems to have fallen out of everybody's network ...so, I was happy to find somebody in network who was also referred by a friend. Consultation went well so I scheduled my next bi-annual cleaning with them. They did refer me out to an Endo who was unfortunately out of network, but hoping we can continue to figure out ways to assist me in the future. Best dental office in the valley. They responded quickly to my broken tooth and had a crown in a matter of a few days. Today I had a cleaning and was in and out in a short period with no discomfort. Dr. Garelick is awesome! He fixed up an issue a was having with my fillings and food getting trapped in a jiffy! He also made great recommendations for anti-snore appliances and such, since I was developing a TMJ issue from a mouth anti-snore appliance. He could have made a lot more money on me by recommending we re-do this and that, yet he just fixed my teeth using a conservative yet viable approach. Dr. Garelick is the only dentist I've found in Arizona that was an honest dentist you could trust! Other places that I went to they wanted to do unnecessary crowns or other work to raise my bill, work that was not needed. I would highly recommend this dental office! The office is small but has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Parking is convenient and easy. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, they know your name when you check in (they take your picture at your first appointment), and I'm always finished with a cleaning in 30 minutes. I had 2 crowns put on, and knowing how nervous I was, Dr. Garelick made it so I could be sleepy and comfortable throughout. From the front desk to the Doctor himself, it is evident that everyone here takes pride in their jobs and enjoys being here and it translates into a better dental experience. Receptionist is AMAZING! That's why two stars are being given instead of one. She is Professional and sweet. Her graciousness is consistent! Dentist.... that's a different story. From the few visits experienced, he's brash, rude and not warm. At all.... the rest of the staff is ok. I would say they are here nor there. Unfortunately, the dentist's attitude is enough for a bad review and will never, ever go back! Would NOT recommend to anyone. Honestly, reviews can make or break a business, but after much consideration a bad review is deserved here because the unwelcome feeling was felt on more than one occasion. The first time I went to this office was to have a crown made for a tooth that had cracked in half. I was so impressed with how well the whole procedure went and especially how the new crown fit. (The temporary was fantastic). Today was my first cleaning and regular exam by the dentist. I couldn't believe how thorough the cleaning was - made me wonder what the hygienist at my previous dentist was doing the last 18 years! Dr. Garelick's explanation of several "watch" spots was easy to understand, and I appreciated his conservative approach. I had a very difficult filling on the back of a front tooth. I agreed that I needed a crown but couldn't afford to do it at the time.
