Me and my two kids have been seeing Dr. Ito for a couple of years. He's a great dentist and very trustworthy. However the front desk staff has changed. I called to book my cleaning and Kristen accused me of no call no showing for multiple appointments which is completely false. I was late to one appointment (called ahead to let them know and showed up) and therefore was not able to be seen but never did I no call no show. She told me I could not book without putting a deposit down which is not ok given that the front desk staff is falsely accusing me. I feel uncomfortable going to this dentist now which is unfortunate because this was our go to office for years and who I recommended many friends and family to go to as well. I will be finding another dentist office for me and my family. read more

This office and the doctor provided horrible service. Temporary crown fell off multiple times and the permanent crown was causing so much pain that it had to be removed. During the removal dr. Ito also damaged adjacent teeth. Had to go to another dentist to fix it all three teeth. Would recommend stay away from this place of torture!!! read more

When I was a small child, I had a butcher of a dentist, so I developed an irrational fear of them, and am extremely picky about the dental care I receive. I don't tolerate pain, and I like to be informed - not treated like a common rube. I have tried several dentists in the area since moving to Phoenix, so when I rate Dr. Ito and his crew 5-stars, that's a pretty serious thing. I came here because I needed to have a crown replaced after it cracked in half. The staff here is very efficient - friendly but down-to-business, and in the 3 times I've been here, I've never had to wait past the scheduled time of my appointment. Michelle is efficient with paperwork and scheduling, and I've no complaints with the process whatsoever. The rest of the staff is friendly and informative. I'm not a dentist or a doctor, but I'm also not a moron, so I like it when the hygienist explains what's going on to me, so I'm not surprised by anything, and so I can make my own evaluations of what's happening. Everyone here is very informative, and they let me know what's going on at every step of the process, and why. As for Dr. Ito himself, he seems like a really nice, friendly guy, which is very strange. Most doctors I've met have some fairly strange personalities. I guess that goes with the territory of poking people with needles and scalpels and drills, but still - weird. Dr. Ito seems perfectly normal. I'm not going to say that he's not a real dentist, because he is, but if you were to pay an actor to pretend to be a dentist, you'd end up with something like Ito. Finally, the most important part: The actual dental work. Ok, like I said, I'm not a dentist, but here's how you numb someone: You rub a little topical anesthetic on the gums where you're going to stab them with a needle. This is so that when you stab them in the mouth with a needle, it doesn't hurt like hell. Then, once the spot is numb, you pump them full of novocaine - a little first, then a bunch, and then they don't have to endure that exquisite pain of having the nerves in your teeth drilled away. Most dentists can't get this right. Dr. Ito did it perfectly. No pain whatsoever. Additionally, a lot of dentists use a drill like they're working on a piece of wood or stone, just grinding away at you like hell until inexplicably they determine they've done enough damage and they patch you up. Not so with Dr. Ito. Even with my mouth numbed up, it was obvious that he was very intentional with his actions while using the drill. He's not just grinding a tree stump out - he's removing specific areas for specific reasons. That's a very different feeling from what I experience with most dentists. Anyway, the joint is clean and quiet, and they have TV's if you want to watch those while you get worked on. I'm always too terrified to pretend to focus on anything else. The people are nice and they talk during their work to distract you a little bit, which is nice. I'll be returning for regular checkups and maintenance! read more

My orthodontist told me (17+ years ago) that if anyone ever told me I needed my wisdom teeth removed because of crowding, they were lieing to me. I went through dentist after dentist after dentist and then I found Dr. Ito, who said "Huh. It's kind of crazy - your wisdom teeth came in perfectly straight and there is tons of room for them." I lived nearby the Sonoran Hills office circa 2007 then moved across the valley for a few years, shamefully seeing other dentists since Ahwatukee was just too far. Finally, about 5 years later, I decided a good dentist was well worth the drive and I have been faithful to Sonoran Hills Dental ever since. Dr. Ito and team are wonderful. I have had them do some cosmetic dentistry (veneers, whitening) and the usual cleanings and fillings. My veneers are beautiful, the cleanings are thorough, and the fillings are as quick and painless as can be. I always leave the office feeling like I have just caught up with old friends, and I imagine they make all of their patients feel this welcome. read more

THANK god I have good genes and teeth... okay maybe, good teeth... but you get me, I know! Dr. Ito is wonderful...he liked my car..& kept talking about it...I had to laugh, bc I kept thinking how did he know what I drove...but heres the thing...a good Dr. will direct your attention elsewhere if your fearful..and Im a nervous wreck at the dentist office. He jokes and makes the experience personal.. The assistants and hygenist are wonderful... they have headphones and little tv's attached to your dental chair to watch ..and for me...I just need something to take the chisel sound away... or the suction..I dont like chisels or suction noises in my mouth! Not only that, but I got several calls from them offering earlier times when they could see me due to cancellations... how awesome is that? New to the area, went to this dentist for a regular exam. Was told I had 3 cavities, despite no pain and no signs from my previous dentist, nor did they check with him for my previous x-rays and records. I let them put in fillings. My nose and upper gums were sore and partially numb for a week (Novocain botch presumably). And within a week or so, the molar they filled has started hurting and firing off nerve pain when chewing. When I floss between it and the back molar, it feels like I'm hitting an exposed nerve. Also, he shaved one of my front teeth down. Never mentioned he was going to do that, I found out when I looked in the mirror. Unbelievable. To top it off, a month later I get a almost $100 bill in the mail...having already been charged over $300 for 3 unnecessary fillings that left me with a now screwed up molar and a shortened front tooth. Avoid this dentist. Cash grab artist. This was all after they canceled my appointment the day before it was supposed to be. I had it two months prior - it they canceled a day before it and couldn't fit me in for another month and a half. All to shave down a front tooth without permission, hit a nerve in my face with the Novocain, and seriously mess up my molar. All in the service of a cash grab with unnecessary fillings they decided to bill me twice for bc hey why not, right? Dont go to this dentist. read more
