Absolutely the worst customer service. Started with the supposed "dust free" removal of existing tile. While the crew was at our HOME, I walked outside only to smell the DISTINCT smell of Marijuana. Not once, but three times. My husband and I do not smoke Marijuana, but we don't care if others do. However, NOT AT MY HOME while working a professional.job we are paying for. The "dust free" was a joke! Contaiments were NOT set uo and what a mess!! We did report this not once but 3 times to Ocotillo Flooring and dead air was the response.. NADA. The installation wasn't without its issues either. The crew was cutting the planks INSIDE the garage. The dirt and dust inside was ridiculous. First night they didn't even bother to clean up after themselves. My husband had to say something to them. We ran short on the quoted quantity of plank and had to buy two more boxes. When questioned about it, no reasonable explanation was given for the "misquote", All we can figure is the planks weren't cut correctly causing over waste. Waste WE had to pay for. Then the TRASH the crew left behind was a real slap in the face. Respect for our home was ZERO. We found sugary beverage cans in closets on shelves. One closet had the can what looked like deliberately shoved in the corner of the shelf. So disrespectful. The crew working our job was pulled off for two days to go to another job, leaving us stuck living in filth in our own home for days. Did Ocotillo Flooring care?? Nope. When the job was finally done, the money request for final payment was all they cared about. We paid over 10k for that horrible experience. Thumbs down from us read more

Brian was good to work with. The quote was accurate for the job. I was not impressed with the workers. They did not use spacers when laying the tile. A large section was redone, but still was not evenly spaced. While under "warranty", the workers used our tile that we had plans for when replacing the tile they had to take up. Tiles with cuts, chips and cracks were installed and also had to be replaced. The hall should have been centered with two tiles then smaller tiles on the sides, but that would have been more work. They let people we didn't know in the house and when finished, took some of our supplies. Don't make our mistake of leaving them unattended. Door jams or some type of cover where the tile meets the carpet were not installed. The carpet that was installed is very good quality and bounces back when vacuumed or shampooed if there is a spill. It was well worth the cost to get the carpet Brian recommended. read more

I am so pleased with my curbless entry bathroom/shower remodel and tiling job that Ocotillo Flooring did for me. I personally completed all the demo/remodel for my MB shower/tub design. However, they came in and pushed me over the finish line! I cannot say enough good things about the project managers excellent customer service, teamwork with plumber, installer crew members, and the technical talent of Cristian my lead installer. Cristian made sure my large 24x48 tiles were lined up with matching veins, limited seams, and level wall and floor tiles. The crew kept the area clean of debris and all of them were very pleasant and answered all my questions while I watched them work in awe!! I used Richard as my contractor for my =kitchen and it was a disaster. His plumber was awful and had to redo everything causing the appliance installers to wait 5 hours and the electron couldn't be bothered to learn how to put the new dimmers in correctly causing him to have to redo then 3 times. His asst stole jewelry (13K) and though bonded they refused to stand behind the insurance. The finish work on my granite back splash is a joke. I paid them in full because they promised to make good on the jewelry and I never heard from them again. read more

Only EVERYTHING is what could improve. They subcontracted my entire floor tile job to a car rental salesman that only shows up after 6PM to help his unskilled laborers clean up. Very poor quality workmanship and different people showing up everyday. They get their business from Floor & Decor in the Phoenix area so watch out. Later found out that Ocotillo and Floor & Decor are same owner so don't think you are getting an independent installer when Floor & Decor hooks you up with their own business. read more

Just made my final payment for the completion of my contract so it's a good time to reflect on my experience with Ocotillo Flooring. Normally, good or bad, I don't do reviews, I just move along and let Karma take care of things. Not this time. If you are considering using this company to do your remodel, beware. Your bid will be very vague in breaking down costs for each portion of the work performed. When they say labor only, that's just what they mean. The trades they use show up with nothing, a plumber comes out for a sink install without a p trap, or needs to go back home to get a wrench. Have your salesman break down your bid, if he won't then find another company. From the start, they balked at doing the flooring underneath the sink, it was part of the bid, but there was some hesitance. So, I ended up hiring another contractor to remove and replace the old flooring. In doing so, the old vanity had to be pulled out along with the toilet. The new contractor disposed of the old vanity and the toilet. He set up the new toilet and replaced the baseboards, all of which were part of my bid with Ocotillo. The estimator assured me that I would get a credit for all of the outside work that was performed. Two weeks later my account has been credited, a whopping $212.00. So in recap, Ocotillo installed 99 square feet of tile, set my vanity and put in the sink, and put up 2 recessed lights, for the meager sum of $4664.00. I figured they set my tile for somewhere between 300 to 400 dollars per square foot, labor only. That is expensive folks. From start to finish, this has been a clown show. It's hard to get people to get back to you or return calls. Well, I'm paid up so I'm allowed to sound off. If you are in Floor and Decor and they recommend these guys for installation, ask for another contractor. If you end up using them, have everything itemized. If you do a change order, stop the job and have the estimator re-do the bid. The outside work that I had done was performed before any of the Ocotillo subs stepped foot in my home. If I only knew then what I know now I would have had them refund my deposit and then re-bid the job. Well, I'm done with Ocotillo, Life goes on, and over and out. read more

I stopped into Floor and Decor last weekend to look at tile for our back splash. I found exactly what I wanted and they scheduled me for an estimate with Ocotillo Flooring. There were a couple of hiccups getting the person to my house, but Jed showed up and gave me some ideas and a quote that was affordable. Carlos did the install the next day! If I could tile my whole house, I would. He is truly an artist when it comes to tile placement. Shower Remodel. We found this company through Floor and Decor. I will say that setting up the appointment was easy, and the financial proposal was exactly what I was expecting. Things got frustrating from there. The shopping list they give is vague, and they acted like they didn't know exactly what products they needed to complete the project. I had to go back to Floor and Decor to get more materials during the time of installation. When the workers came to do the demo and plumbing, they didn't know what needed to be done per the agreement. I had to explain to them the job. Same thing happened when the installer came - I had to explain to them the job. In the end the job was done correctly - as far as I know. But their lack of professionalism has my confidence low. I'm grateful there is a 2yr warranty on this project. I have a feeling I'm going to need it. Everybody is also incredibly difficult to get ahold of if you have any questions. Take away - if you're prepared with low expectations, then this company is for you. Otherwise, look for someone else. Honestly, I would be willing to pay more to someone else if it meant I didn't have to worry about whether the job was being done correctly or not. read more

We had an estimator come out to our home for an estimate to replace the flooring in our entire house with luxury vinyl flooring. It was specifically stated that we want an estimate without the bedrooms done and one with the bedrooms done. Either we got another persons estimate by mistake or the estimator wasnt paying attention. Instead of the two estimates we requested, we got three: 1) that our house is empty, to remove tile at the front door and our "front room" will get carpet. None of which is true as we have carpet at the front door, our house is full of furniture, and this "front room" wont get carpet as we told him as much. 2) "customer will move all furniture." Yeah, no we told him we arent moving our furniture and that they would move the furniture and would pay for this 3) an estimate for all the house except 2 bedrooms. As stated previously, we told him we wanted an estimate without the FOUR bedrooms done and one estimate for the entire house. If we are to drop this much cash for something this large of a project, detail is important and if you cant get the estimate right, we will be looking elsewhere for our project. read more

This company is a joke! They were pushed onto me by Floor and Decor. There has to be some financial situation why they would push this company. My tile has to be shipped in and will take 3 to 4 weeks for me to get it. Ocotillo Flooring Services decides today that unless I put up a deposit of 1/2 of the project, I won't be scheduled to install for at least 4 weeks after the tile is here. They are trying to extort money upfront. I know you have to put a deposit down before work begins. They are trying to extort the money now. All kinds of red lights are flashing on this contractor. Maybe they are going broke but they claim this is good business. I have done hundreds of projects and know when you have a shady contractor. Here they are. Don't let Floor and Decor push them onto you. This company has complaints with the Better Business Bureau, complaints on Yelp and Google. They only care about themselves and money. The customer doesn't matter. Go look at the reviews. The reviews support that claim. They have not even laid my tile yet and have shown they are not a reputable company. Heed my advice from someone who has done hundreds of flips, GET A DIFFERENT COMPANY for flooring. They call a company called Installations Made Easy as their boss. Look very closely at this company also. Floor and Decor should be ashamed of them. read more

A couple of weeks ago Howard from Ocotillo flooring came to my condo to give me a bid on replacing approximately 1,000 sg ft of outside patio tile. In the process he pointed out that the tile could possible be refinished. I followed up with 3 refinishing companies (the cost varied greatly $2,600 - $8,500) and in the end I decided to replace the current tile because it was old and worn and we didn't really like it anyway. I really appreciate Howard's honesty because he didn't just try to "sell me". He gave me an option I had not considered and in the end I feel as though he actually educated me and helped me make the correct decision. I've been reluctant to post anything regarding the services received from Ocotillo, but it's been about 3 weeks since my installation job was completed and I'm still finding things that I need to fix, touch up or clean. If you have the time, take a read, but if you're busy shopping the other thousands of flooring companies in AZ, then just know this; the flooring in my home LOOKS great, but the fact that I had to caulk certain areas myself, retack the carpet myself, that they pulled up, repaint my walls that were covered in dirt, dings, and scratches, remove tile they failed to remove, and clean up all the saw dust shavings in back yard that were left behind after they were finally done cutting all the planks, I will not be using Ocotillo for any further job. The long version: I used Ocotillo as they were Floor and Decor's contracted flooring installer. Upon receiving the quote for demo and install (which was almost double Empire), I was told by the sales guy that I could shave the price down by demoing myself and basically prepping the area for install (which would have saved me roughly $1600). I had a few friends and family planning to come out to help with the demo job so I could save some cash and apply it to other aspects of my remodel. A week before the install date, I get a call from Ocotillo's office personnel asking if I would like to start the job the following day (6 days early). I replied with "No, because I have some people coming out to help me demo this weekend and we will not be ready for your crew to start the install until the previously agreed upon start date." There was a moment of silence and the phone was passed to another woman who was ADAMANT on me having Ocotillo do the demo work, I'm assuming because that's an extra $1600 in their pockets. After going back and forth I finally surrendered and agreed to have Ocotillo do the demo. Fast Forward to demo day, the tile removal crew show up and start ripping up the tile. Prior to them starting I asked if they would be covering my kitchen cabinets, as I had just refinished and repainted them a couple days prior, they said yes. THEY DID NOT and after they were "done" removing the tile, I found a Rodin amount of gouges, dust, dings, and scratches. As I continued examine their removal work I noticed they didn't remove any tricky pieces tile (under the toiled, behind the dishwasher, in the closets, etc.) The following day, the installer shows up and is going through all the items I bought for the job (Ocotillo provides you with a materials shopping list in which you have to go and retrieve everything required to complete your job). As he's going through the items, he puts a 1/4 of the material to the side and says, "I know I won't be need any of this." Thankfully Floor and Decor has a great return policy, but I was now stuck with loading all this into my car and taking all back to Floor and Decor to return. As the job progressed, the installers used my backyard as their saw station, getting saw dust everywhere, which was no big deal to me as I assumed they were going to clean it up at the end of the work day. Days passed and the saw dust continued to build up out back and then IT RAINED and all the dust stuck like glue to everything (patio, grills, yard, EVERYTHING). As they were finally coming to an end and packing up their truck, the installer said "it's all done, sorry about the backyard, I can't clean it up because it rained." ONLY 2 stars, because the floor itself looks great but all the extra work I had to do to get everything back in order, being sold on "saving money by self-demoing," and feel pressured to adjust my schedule made it an extremely poor experience. read more

We just had all of the flooring replaced in our home by Ocotillo Flooring. We had to have 1500 square feet of direct glue wood laminate flooring torn out and the floor prepped for ceramic tile. Unbelievable customer support throughout the entire tear out and installation and they were able to complete on time. We had a very good experience from beginning to end. We dealt with Anthony at Floor and Décor when picking out tile and then scheduled our estimate and install with Howard. The installers were timely and did excellent work. They cleaned up very nicely as well. We are very happy with the work they have done and would definitely use them again. read more

BACKGROUND: We went through Floor & Decor's "Installation Made Easy" program to contract with Ocotillo Flooring. It was very difficult to set up measuring appointments and, when we did, they had to come back three different times to take the measurements (the third time from the owner, Mitch, who finally got it right). We should have seen that as an omen. We had 2'X4' tiles installed, which are a common product at Floor & Decor. Overall, the tiles look pretty good and are mostly level, but with minor differences in height in a few areas. We have two concerns about the overall quality of work from Ocotillo Flooring: the quality of the grout work and the installation of our tile shower pan. GROUT: Many of the grout lines throughout the project were not completely/properly filled, causing the edges of the tiles to feel sharp when walking over them in socks or bare feet. In addition, several small sections of grout lines were missed completely, partially filled, or only filled at the tops of the grout lines, causing the grout eventually to break through in a few spots. We contacted the owner, Mitch, about these problems, who sent the same two guys back out to fill in the low grout areas. Despite Mitch's assurances that this wouldn't occur, the new grout has been gradually separating itself from the original grout and crumbling away, making them even more unattractive than they were before. SHOWER PAN: Ocotillo also put in a tile drain pan in our master bath shower. Although the overall drain pan does slope toward the drain for adequate drainage, the 2-3/4" hexagonal tiles were set in a way where they don't transition toward the drain in a level, smooth, continuous slope, resulting in many of the sharp tile edges and pointed corners to be higher than others, edges that we become acutely aware of every time we move our feet in the shower. In addition, the lower-than-ideal grout problem occurred here as well, once again exacerbating sharp edge problem. This has all resulted in a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience every time we use the master shower. This problem has actually forced us to use our tub-based showers rather than our custom-made shower by Ocotillo Flooring just for the sake of avoiding foot pain due to the sharp-edged tiles not being properly installed and grouted. OTHER: To allow the workers to do their job, we temporarily moved to our next door neighbor's house, since they were out of town. After we moved back home, we discovered that not only did the workers do a terrible job on our grout work, they also raided my refrigerator, drinking every soda and Gatorade that was in there, as well as raiding my pantry where they ate my box of Rice Krispies treats, all without even asking. CONCLUSION: We spent over $80,000 to renovate our kitchen and baths, and the poor-quality floor tile grout work and the sharp-edged shower pan installed by Ocotillo Flooring are by far our biggest disappointments, one that we have to look at every day. Now, just seven months after having our flooring installed, we are exploring ways that we can (1) have our grout replaced without chipping and destroying our brand new floor tiles and (2) have our tiled shower pan corrected without destroying the granite shower enclosure we have abutting the floor. Although the Ocotillo Flooring owner, Mitch, seems like a great guy who seems to want to do well, unfortunately, he's not the guy actually doing the work. Based on that, we cannot with good conscience recommend Ocotillo Flooring Services. read more

Had a shower remodel done. We chose tiles from Floor and Decor. The rep from Ocotillo Flooring at Floor and Decor was very helpful. She got an estimate job scheduled quickly. Once we were ready to start the project manager worked w my busy work schedule. That was important for us. The demo and plumbing went well. The tile job was great! I had a few tiny issues and everything was resolved quickly and effectively. I would definitely recommend this company for tile. Our master shower is just amazing! I only wish I had not waited so long to do this project. What an incredible upgrade to our house! Will use this company again for our guest bath. They were amazing!! On time every day, asked if we had questions and cleaned up along the way. We had to stay in our home during installation due to multiple indoor cats and our Great Dane, never once was it a problem for them!
