Great place for a weekend on Ocotillo Wells, CA we have been staying here for years, but the new owners have made staying here so much nicer. The staff is friendly and they keep the park nice. This is in Ocotillo so everyone has motorcycles, side by sides so it's dusty and kids riding everywhere, but it's the desert. read more

Everything! We really enjoy staying here. It's nice to have hook-ups in the middle of the desert. The staff is always accommodating and be friendly. The only suggestion is to have more everyday items in the store but that's not going to be an easy fix given the location. We'll be back! read more

Took advantage of the free weekend promotion since we have never stayed here before. The park is clean and well maintained. Arrived to our RV stall and realized someone was already in it. Called the number on the brochure and within a couple minutes we were accommodated by the onsite staff with a better stall without any hassle or more paperwork to fill out. We love the full hooks ups! Pool and spa are the best after a long day riding. The new storage units make it easy to day trip and explore the surrounding areas. Straight shot up Santa Fe wash takes you right to blow sand hill that's my favorite spot to ride to. read more

We have been coming to this resort for the last 4 years and it just keeps getting better. This year they made some upgrades to the sites and added some cute over night trailers. We love the kids track and watching them race around. I have to say though, our favorite part is just how wonderful the staff is and the friendly the environment. Had a great stay Jan 17-20!! park was only half full. Hookups were spot on!! water pressure prefect, sewer connections very close to rig! Kids were able to ride in the park nice and slow getting used to their new bikes and quads. Park was very quiet around 10pm and was never disturbed after quiet time. Restaurant and little store were jam packed all day Saturday but that was to be expected. All spots are easy access and backing in or pulling in is a breeze. It is all dirt sites so bring outdoor mats for your rig, dont come here if you dont like dust and being dirty lol but I am sure if you enjoy riding then you already know that dust is a part of the fun. We brought our fire pit but got luck and had one still at our site!! read more

We spent the weekend here and were extremely pleased. The facilities were clean, the food was great, (the carne asada fries were amazing) but honestly what we enjoyed the most was the family time. We usually don't camp in campgrounds because we like to be away from crowds but this time was different. We arrived around 7 pm and found the campground to be nicer than expected, (I haven't been to ocotillo in over a decade). Saturday we went riding all day and ended up having late lunch at the cafe. The people were great and so was the food. That night the campground put on a movie for the kids and the staff was great, they came in to check on the kids and even made popcorn. Our family had a memorable weekend and we appreciate the ocotillo every resort for their part in it. read more

An amazing first experience, even with the wicked wind! This was our first time at the resort, and it was so clean. The staff was awesome, the hookups perfect, the grounds are exceptionally kept, and the showers/bathrooms are pristine. Staff were up early in the morning, trying to clean up the grounds after severe windstorms! And they did it with a smile on their face! Walking to the bar/restaurant is a big win as well! Our only suggestion is more lounge chairs at the pools. There are red ants (typical desert)on the concrete, so hard to lie on the concrete if you need to, so more lounge chairs would be fantastic! Other than that, being able to cruise around, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, adult-friendly... a great place to stay when everyone in your family doesn't ride. The pool and hook-ups are a win! We rented two sites side by side for Christmas and had a great experience. Everyone was so friendly! The RV resort was perfect for the kids. We felt self and enjoyed relaxing in the evenings under the stars. The kids swam in the pool and the jacuzzi. There is easy access to all of the trails which we used every day. The staff take great care of the place. The kids enjoyed the pool and the clubhouse and the Resort hosted a fun Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning. We just came back from the RV Resort. We alway stay there when we go to Ocotillo. It is clean, staff is awesome and the restraunt has good food. We are seniors, so next time we will rent a trailer and go eat at the restaurant - all we have to do is bring our toys. RV Resort makes it so easy. Thank you for having an Easter Egg Hunt. The only good thing about this place is the hook ups. Otherwise just stay in the desert for free. They literally check your shitter to make sure it's empty. There are so many rules you have to follow. The staff were so totally rude. In fact, a guy who worked for the place drove his golf cart back and forth at top speed at night with no lights. We kindly asked him to slow down because of our kids playing. And he ignored us and speed off. Save your money. read more

They have full hookups and easy access to the desert from the park. Another bonus is the Blue Cafe; incredible food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The daily rates was acceptable but be aware of the additional fees. On Monday when we checked in we arrived 70 minutes early. We were trying to beat the (weekday) traffic and the increasing winds that started at noon in a high profile vehicle like an RV and towing a trailer. We were charged $20 to check-in in order to set up camp before the winds got really bad. (As it was the winds were so bad that it blew a fan cover nearly off our RV and had to go on the RV roof with extreme winds, very dangerous...imagine if we waited the extra 70 mins). The thing was the resort was only 30% full and didn't see why this was an issue given the impending weather. Additionally I was charged an extra parking spot to have my towing trailer even though there was plenty of room at our campsite. Long story there was a hiccup with our originally booked spot where yet again I paid extra fees to be guaranteed that spot. Since that spot was unusable I parked my trailer there (again I paid extra money for a parking spot). And the next morning I was pressed about why I was parking there and asked to buy another site in order to park my trailer in that particular unusable spot. At the end they let me stay. But buyer beware, the daily rate is not the actual rate, there are numerous fees tacked on for what felt like nickel and diming you. read more

My review is for the experience overall for our visit, not our specific site. What a great park. I know many like to boon-dock, but not family, we like to shower. I was very impressed with the staff. Very helpful, courteous and just plain cool people. The campground was clean and well kept. The sites are plenty big for any size rig. Having easy access to riding directly behind the park is the best. The pool however cold, was clean and refreshing. The bathrooms were spotless and they even came by our site daily to gather our trash. My only complaint was our site. We were in site 41. There is a pump of some sort (I'm sure it's important) that was loud and few yards away. We couldn't hear it inside our trailer, but it was a bit annoying while sitting outside. Please don't be confused by this part of the review. We have EVERY intention of staying at this park each time we visit the area, next time I just know to ask for a site in the 30's. Very nice RV park in the desert. Sites are clean, wide and long. They can definitely accommodate the largest of rigs. 50/30 amp hookups, water and sewer. Staff was friendly, and the grounds were kept relatively clean for being in the desert. Pool area was nice, the boys used it and had fun, and the kids all enjoyed the game room. Outside the park is a nice T-shirt vendor, restaurant and small store. If you need anything else, Salton city gas station isn't far. If you need RV storage, they have it here too and I felt it was secure and worth the $90/mo. Only caution for folks first time traveling here, google maps is not accurate to the entrance. Enter at the flags that enter at the T-shirt vendor and store. I am looking forward to my next trip there! read more

This RV Resort is very clean, well maintained. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Park is well maintained, very clean, and sites are level. All of the sites are roomy. Electric boxes are nice and clean. Sewer hook ups are clean and covered nicely. We did not get sewer gas in our RV while hooked up. Even though the place is off road friendly, it is quiet, and campers seem to be respectful park rules. We will definitely return. I wish I had better pictures! read more

This campground is acceptable for many reasons. I see many complaints from people who seem to have had a bad experience. The only bad experience I ever had was some jackass had a lab with him that wouldn't shut up. The dog barked nonstop. I am convinced there are just a lot of self centered people who can't cope in a group setting. Let face it if you let your dog bark nonstop then that family has the problem not the park. The staff arrived later to stop the barking. People don't bring a problem pet to a campground, use your fricken brain. Don't let your kids ride motorcycles without a helmet, if you want a place with zero rules, dry camp. Let's face it, if the people who took the time to build this campground didn't make it happen then people would be bitching that there wasn't a campground available. Want a campground with your own rules, build it and run it with no rules, hope you have a good attorney and deep pockets. But if your the type that likes full hook ups this is the place. If I can suggest late check ins should be extended. It says 10pm. But they still let me get in . Stayed here Halloween Opening weekend 11/21 and the new ownership changes are very noticeable. First, the new staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome unlike the old ownership. Second, new staff walks around cleaning and talking to guests at same time, making sure that all is fine! Third, they are communicative and they want to make sure their guests are having a good time!
