I stayed at Shadow Hills RV Resort for the Van Jam event, and for my first time camping, this was actually a great place to land. The RV park itself is peaceful, easy to navigate, and in a really convenient location if you're bouncing between Indio and Joshua Tree -- which I did. I even made it out to Joshua Tree National Park, and the drive from the resort was super smooth. The resort has plenty of space, good energy, and the overall environment feels safe and relaxed. Staff was decent and check‑in was easy. That said, the toilets definitely need a deep cleaning. Not terrible, but not up to the standard the rest of the park sets. If they improved that, it would elevate the whole experience. read more

Problems started at check-in. We paid extra for 2 particular spots together and they were given out to someone else. After a couple of hours we got 2 spots next to the road and heard traffic all night. Couple nights later raw sewage was coming up in a space 2 down from us. The campground is rundown and understaffed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Web sites can be deceiving. This RV resort has seen better days. Tired, worn out, run down; I walked around the park with my dog after arriving and was surprised at the emptiness. May be the time of year-late Sept. Ponds were infested with shitting ducks and had a foul Oder. Pool water was slightly green with algae. People were actually soaking in it. Yuck! Nightly price was okay -$50 for a full hookup site. Some of the sites are separated with tall Oleander hedges which is good for privacy. That was a plus. Most sites are also level concrete surface. I travel in a van rv so I routinely use the toilet/showers. No hot water here. Maybe it just wasn't working. Bathrooms a bit sketchy-dirty. Overall, this park could use some work to clean it up. read more

Stayed here for Coachella. The RV space was nice, but one of the biggest issues was transportation. The resort no longer offers Coachella shuttle service. Instead they have two school buses that broke down every single day!!! The buses didn't have AC, kept breaking down, and sometimes they had random, unorganized drivers taking guests to and from the festival. It was chaotic and honestly a nightmare to deal with. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, poorly managed, and far below expectations. I probably won't be returning again unless they get back on the Coachella shuttle service list. read more

The vibes have been so great so far! The layout, amenities and activities they have here are all pretty awesome. Pancakes at the end of a long day at the festival? Such an awesome treat. Went for Weekend 2 of Coachella. Paid $900 for an RV spot and shuttle passes. We weren't informed about the additional bathrooms so we we're not aware that there was more than 1 shower in the men's and women's bathrooms until the day we were checking out. There were 2 old, ran down school buses for the shuttles, which both ended up breaking down on the 2nd day (1 going down night 1) resulting in a complete mad house trying to get to and from the festival on Day 2 and 3. It took us nearly 3 hours to get home on night 1 with only 1 bus running. We ended spending over $200 on Ubers that took forever to get to and from the festival. It was a total mess with management only getting 1 or 2 vehicles to substitute for the buses going down with hundreds of people relying on them for rides every day. read more

Stayed for coachella and had so much fun! I met the nicest people who were also staying at this resort. Hailey the manager is so cool and very nice! They passed out a lot of free drinks to people in the pool area, every morning they had good coffee, and at night the free pancakes were incrdible!! Thank you for providing the pancakes, it was a big selling point for my friends. Hot tub, pool, bathrooms were all very clean. Shuttle bus comes once every hour, I do think 2 busses alternating every 30 mins would be better but we managed. The DJ was good. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends. First I like to take Ruben. He wax the first person we meet. Very helpful. Not only to us but our new friend. Hailey the manager was amazing. I feel that all the staff are great because of her leadership. The pool was warm. The pancakes were fluffy. I would 100/100 recommend here for any event. Next year I'm coming back just to stay at the resort. DJ P wee took request and we had dance comp, lip syncs battles and Easter egg hunts. My friend found a golden egg. There was a nice girl with curly hair, cleaning her but off and I forgot his name but I call him bad bunny, he helped with trash and anything we needed. The shuttle guy was amazing too. I think shadow hill deserves a closer spot for shuttle pick up but it is a lot of car camping at Coachella so we are appreciative that we had a cute school buss shuttle. I had a blast. Also every one was so kind. I have never seen so many beautiful people get out of tents and RVs. So if you want a boring RV resort this is not for you. read more

Great location...BUT....management has decided to ignore any semblance of maintenance. We stayed for 6 weeks and bathrooms were not really cleaned until ~ week 4. If they did clean, it was very superficial. Staff mentioned that since it was "off season" despite park being ~40-60% full, there were no resources to have anyone clean which was an insult to those of us who are paying money to stay there. Toilets clogged alot, not one feminine hygiene container in the women's bathroom (so where are we supposed to put used products--maybe thats why the toilets clogged so much??). No mats on the floors in showers so it was always a slip hazard (no matter if you are 18 or 60 years old!). Sprinklers on at odd hours/places which made the walking paths around the pond continuously muddy ...not cool if you want to walk your dog there...and the entire pond area smelled like a leaking septic tank...lots of areas were not even watered or tended to ....grass so high in certain areas you could not even see or pick up the dog poop. No light at the entrance gate so it was a pain to enter the gate code; several times a rig was waiting at gate ahead of our vehicle for 10 minutes waiting for someone to respond so we eventually had to get out of our car and provide the code. Dumpsters overflowing....ugh...maybe thats why a large dead rat was spotted on one of the empty tent sites. Its really too bad because this probably used to be a nice place. read more

The place is filthy and falling apart from raised cracked concrete to stucco falling off the building and nothing but weeds and dead grass, I called and asked for a picnic table be delivered to my site and the lady in the office told me to go find one and get it myself. Our truck needed immediate repairs while pulling our trailer through Indio. We were able to get a spot here at Shadow Hills RV just 1.5 miles from the GMC dealership where the repairs were done. The park is secure with a coded gate upon entry so be sure to call ahead. The park is clean and has well maintained landscaping. The pool and spa are wonderful! Huge pool. There are comfortable outdoor seating areas with gas fire tables all around the community area. There is a modest gym which we didn't use so I cannot say how well the equipment works. They have a media room with tons of dvds, books and games. There is also a club house which was closed but looks nice for large gatherings. The spots are mostly back in and concrete. I did see some on grass as well. The staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs and last minute stay. If you need a place to stay, I recommend this. read more

Stayed at Shadow Hills with some friends for Weekend 2 of Coachella for the first time. I usually do Airbnb like I did for Weekend 1, but this place was a lot better than expected. I never camped or stepped into an RV before let alone do both at a RV resort for Coachella. Every staff member I talked to was super friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were cleaned when I used them, vibes were good all around. Only thing I'd improve would be the check-in process and logistics for parking. Easy fixes: assign designated spots through online reservations with a deposit, don't overbook to keep the roads clear in case some people leave early / late, have two roped lines at the front office. One more recommendation would be to have two food vendors -- one food truck with a diverse menu, one morning coffee vendor that makes drinks nonstop. I had a great time at Shadow Hills and would recommend it to anyone wanting to do RV camping. read more

When we looked at Shadow Hills RV Resort a few years ago it was well maintained and appealing. Now...........it's really run down. The resort has lots of differed maintenance. Filthy restrooms, dead and unkempt landscaping. Septic smells and what seem to be drain-field leaks are not uncommon. That being said, the resort has a fantastic staff. The people are friendly, helpful and over worked. The employee turnover was not surprising. I give Shadow hills 1 star that is totally earned by their staff. Be sure to check rates. We paid 400.00 a month more than some of our neighbors. read more

The pancakes after the festival were such an amazing addition to the already phenomenal customer service. DJ Pee Wee made the experience by the pool so fun and he was overall amazing. The band on Saturday was also great. The shuttle driver was amazing and super fun and the vibes on the bus were amazing. 10/10 experience and I cannot wait to come back! read more

I am so happy that I found this place. I wanted to go camping but I was not ready to be without electricity and real restrooms like I would have been in Joshua Tree. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I called with a few questions before I booked and they were equally as great on the phone as they were in person. We were the only renters the night we came which was really nice. There were some issues with the outlets by the tents but that was quickly resolved. There is a lot of noise from the highway, I didn't notice before booking how close it was to the road. The restrooms are clean and very close to location of the tents. It is a gated area which really makes it feel safe. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The pictures that you see are truly authentic pictures of what it's like here however, the pictures don't give it to justice because it's very beautiful It's very serene, it is comfortable, it is clean, it is welcoming, it is safe, it is my home away from home. All of the staff here take ownership of this place and they treat it in care for it as if it's their own you can't tell the difference in the staff or the owners because they are so respectable and accommodating especially Mrs. Judy she is kind, considerate, and work very very hard, and is willing to go above and beyond your expectations she even help you find "flowers" to put inside your RV. I am an avid RVer , I'm in my RV or camping 80% of the time. I have traveled and stayed at various high-end, five-star luxury, RV Resorts, I have dry-camped,camped I have stayed in privately owned RV Estates, I even own a membership to a very high in RV club. We rented the airstream in the featured photo above...the one on the right, for 3 nights as an affordable lodging option for the Indian Wells tennis tournament. Someone spent a lot of time and money restoring the vintage airstream. They went for "cute museum piece" rather than "functional 3-night rental." The sleeping accommodations were tight, but expected... and manageable. There were no instructions in the airstream whatsoever. We opted not to use the vintage gas stove. First night was freakishly windy. The noise inside the airstream from the adjacent freeway and the typhoon winds made sleep difficult. Prob 1: Any place you might want to set a suitcase, tote bag, or anything, is already occupied by a cutesy curiosity piece. Prob 2: Two of us, one place to sit. The front end of the thing was occupied by an antique bench seat off (I'm guessing) a child's sleigh... which would be great if it was comfortable... but it was not .. at all. Not adult dimensioned. Prob 3: No hot water in kitchen sink. I stupidly ran it for 5 minutes waiting for hot water. Nope. Prob 4: It was supposed to have "TV and bathroom." TV had no cable or satellite service. Just a couple grainy local stations.... OK... not here for TV. Bathroom was toilet only. OK again. Wasn't expecting a jacuzzi tub. Prob 5: The big one. Second night the Toilet started leaking at base and stinking like septic. Unusable. Kitchen sink also backed up. Septic odor impacted sleep. Office doesn't open till 9, but found a maint guy cleaning the pool. He said "those things have a small tank... look for the valve which dumps the tank." I looked. No valve. Then he showed up and also found no valve and left . We had tennis to get to so we checked out early and left a voice message for the office, asking for a refund for night 3. They called back later and refused the refund. "You just needed to empty the tank." The septic smells were not limited to our airstream. This is an old RV park and I think their septic probs extend to the bathrooms as well. Their claimed "TV room" amenity also has no sat or cable service. read more

Cannot say ENOUGH kind words about this place. From our arrival, when the staff learned that I was going to be alone during the day (my husband was golfing) with my service dog, and I cannot walk very far. They moved our spot to a beautiful view, right where one of the duck ponds was. A large fountain. Easy walking path. Quiet Campground. All guests were so polite. It was beautiful. Sat outside watching a movie, and enjoying BBQ.... this is on our return bucket list. Thanks guys, we will see you again!! read more

Stayed at this place for stagecoach and let me tell you, the manager lady is an absolute witch.. won't ever come here again, The Dj was the best part at the pool and apparently this lady kept telling him what he could and couldn't play. This is stagecoach lady!!! Get with the program, I'm sure the staff is pretty upset as well. To the Dj, you had everyone dancing in and out of the pool!!! Your unique style of playing was amazing!! We stayed here with our Airstream club. 25 plus rigs. Check in was smooth. Yes there is a pool and a jacuzzi. Our group used the club room for two pot lucks. The big grill was really dirty and only half worked. They fixed it for our second night. Half the people in our group have dogs There was no place we could sit and let our dogs run and play off leash. There was several postage stamp size fenced in areas but none big enough for more then two dogs at a time. Much less anyplace to sit and visit. There is plenty of big grassy areas that could be fenced for a proper dog park. There's a nice pond with coi fish and Lilly pads to walk around. My big problem, our last two nights, was the noise coming from someplace. Loud Music. The first night all Mexican the second random DJ style. Party party So loud many of us could not sleep. It went on until 1:30-2:00 in the morning. It came from outside the park but everyone heard it within the park. Not the parks fault but enough to make me not want to return. read more

Recently stayed in an RV for Powertrip at Shadow Hills RV Resort. Great service. The multi event had some hot days but at least there was a pool to cool off in. There were also really fun pool parties. The pool parties had a DJ and played lots of Powertrip music. I brought a tailgate gas grill to the BBQ area which is close to the pool to cook up Hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken skewers. It was great. Also met lots of international people who were fun to party with. They were from all over the world - Turkey, Germany, Brazil, France, Poland I had full hookups for the RV. The campground restrooms and showers were clean and maintained on a daily basis by the staff. The place is gated and you will need codes to get into the campground which feels a little safer than some other campgrounds. This is my first stay at Shadow Hills RV resort for Coachella. I've attended Coachella for almost 10 years and stayed in hotels and homes during my past visits. I'm happy to say that this place has exceeded my expectations! I will absolutely return for future festivals. Cost: I spent $150 per person for the whole weekend (for tent/car camping) from a Thursday to Monday. The resort has options for camping, RV, and has onsite cottages. I made a last minute reset and they were extremely accommodating. Staff/check-in: The staff is THE BEST! Friendly and helpful! Always willing to assist. Was given a Coachella drawstring backpack with a hypercolor cup, program guide for staying at resort and complementary sunglasses! Nice perk! I was kindly escorted to my site via golf cart by Paula who allowed me to select my desired camp site to ensure that I was satisfied with my site during my stay. Amenities: Each car camping site was clean and grassy. It had accessible electricity and water onsite. There was a daily DJ pool party with hot tub, spacious community showers with free shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and hairdryer. Bathrooms and showers were always clean, with no lines and accessible electricity. The community room was available for use if you wanted an nice air conditioned open space with tables, couch and flat screen TV to relax in. Transportation: I liked that I could drive on and off the property without any issues to go to the store, mall, other hotels etc.(unlike being stuck onsite for Coachella camping). It is located right off the I-10 freeway. There is a guard onsite always ensuring you are a guest of the RV resort. Shadow Hills Resort is an official shuttle stop and definitely the best option for getting into and out of the festival. It stops inside the RV park and takes you as close to the entrance of the festival than any other mode of transportation. No need for long walks on any of the dusty Coachella paths or use for pedicabs. No issues with trying to find your car post-festival. It's the BEST way to get to and from the festival. Food: They offered breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks and beverages on site. They accept cash or credit card as method of payment. Bags of ice are available for $4 if you need it for your cooler. Parking: plenty available on site. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It is the most economical option for attending Coachella while offering the best conveniences and entertainment. I always felt safe and secure while staying at the resort. I will definitely be returning. read more

We stayed here for a 4 night stay for Coachella 2017 weekend 1 and we have no regrets! The simple living was refreshing and the staff was wonderful. During check-in the staff provides us with mood changing Coachella cups, bandanas, a bag, map and menu. You are required to wear a wristband so they can make sure you are on the reservation and this gets checked everytime you return from leaving the grounds. They serve breakfast and lunch for a small charge, however, we did not buy any since we made food at our campsite each day. They had complementary coffee in the morning which was a plus. The place is extremely upkept, they had clean showers and bathrooms, there is an ourdoor vanity on one end to also use to get ready. Pool party was a ton of fun, DJ's each afternoon, pool filled with floats and beach balls. I would highly recommend shadow Hills RV park during Coachella weekend, the experience here was worth it for us! read more

I made a reservation for February that I had to cancel. I canceled it by the date required to get a full refund. When I called to cancel, I was told that they had a 'new system' and could not put the refund back on my credit card and they'd need to issue me a check. A month went by and nothing. I called and was told they use a third-party service for it. It is now APRIL and I still have no refund. I have called almost daily and get the runaround every time I do. I have been told repeatedly they would take care of it over the past month with no resolution. They have nearly $700 of my money that I have not been able to get back and have been paying interest each month on the credit card fee. This is some shady business practice if you ask me. read more

We stayed at Shadow Hills for one month to explore the area. It's pretty close to Palm Springs, Joshua Tree NP, Anza Borrego state park and lots of other hiking areas. Our stay there was very pleasant. The hook ups worked great, the grounds were well kept, and the people in the office were very friendly. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Example: they offered a $15 meal for St. Patrick's day, but offered ours for free because we stayed long term. They also bought my son Mac and cheese and ice cream because they knew about his food allergy. They also helped us back into our spot (we need lots of help!). We liked that it was gated, it felt safe and we didn't have to lock our things up or put them away every night. There also wasnt a lot of traffic going in and out or driving around the park which was nice. The laundry rooms were clean and worked well. The pool was large and clean and perfect temperature. There was also a little pond with koi fish and ducks that our kids liked to bike around. They also have vintage trailers to rent if you don't have your own rv or trailer. Very cute! read more
