Right arm, it's actually been worse than this before!!!!
    Yuri A.

Service is ok but some days they stick the hell out of you and it feels like the are trying to lacerate your veins on purpose so you can't come back and get the money you would expect on a monthly basis that they advertise to you. Some days I go there and they are very gentle. After being a new donor I made a 100 my first two donations then another two for $65 then went back only to have my veins lacerated again for $50 then they will tell you may be put on a deferral list so you can't donate until THEIR mistake has cleared up. Needless to say I'm searching for a better place with more competent people who can consistently draw blood without bruising!!!!

Horribly understaffed or the schedule creator is lacking. One tech on the entire floor is crazy work guys, keep it up.

WARNING: Unsafe medical practices and faulty equipment. Please read this before donating at this…read moreJacksboro Highway location. I had a terrifying medical emergency here due to a complete failure of basic safety, untrained staff, and broken equipment. Needle Mistake: The phlebotomist rushed my stick and completely missed my vein. When the machine started throwing error codes, a floor supervisor came over. Dangerous Fishing Maneuver: Instead of taking the needle out and doing a clean re-stick, the supervisor aggressively dug and scraped the needle inside my arm for 20 to 30 seconds trying to save the line. Sensory Blackout: This physical trauma caused my blood pressure to crash instantly. I completely lost my sight and hearing, trapping me in a terrifying greyout state of unconsciousness for 3 to 5 minutes. Non-Existent Emergency Equipment: When you faint, medical protocol requires the staff to immediately lay you flat or tilt your legs up to get blood back to your brain. The donor chairs at this legacy facility are completely outdated and cannot recline. Negligent First Aid: Because the chairs are outdated and stuck in an upright position, gravity kept the blood pooled in my legs, actively starving my brain of oxygen. Instead of performing actual physical first aid to restore blood flow, the staff just stood there and eventually handed me a drink (which you cannot even swallow safely while upright during a blackout due to risk of aspiration). Aftermath: Because they left me vertical during a multi-minute blackout, my body could not recover normally. I was left with profound physical exhaustion, cold sweats, and a pounding, severe headache for the rest of the day. This center is operating with outdated infrastructure that lacks mandatory emergency features to protect donors. The floor staff is severely undertrained and does not know how to manage a medical crash. I have officially filed a formal safety and operational violation report with the FDA regarding this facility's equipment and training failures. PROTECT YOUR HEALTH AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. UPDATE: Upon exercising my legal data rights, l forced Grifols corporate legal to release my backend files. The electronic system footprint exposes massive fraud: Floor Supervisor Brett Krahl and Bridget Burrell caught manually rewriting medical logs 4 hours after the incident and deleting evidence to hide an 18-minute emergency delay where I was left blacked out and upright in an outdated emergency chair. Avoid this location at all costs.

The ladies at the check-in desk were courteous. There was a slight hiccup with the billing, and it was handled well. They forwarded the issue to the registration department, and we worked it out from there. My registration clerk did a great job. She was fully versed in what she was presenting, and she was able to clearly explain/answer the questions I had. She was efficient and left nothing unanswered. From there, I joined the nurse for the actual pre-op. I'm horrible with getting names, but my nurse was great. Again, everything was fully explained, and she addressed every question asked. Bravo to both of these ladies who assisted me; it was a great visit, and they fully prepared me for what's to come. My only note: Grade F The registration office is a bit too open, and the patient information can be heard in other rooms. They have sliding doors to close off the waiting area, but they do not have doors on the other side. Because there's no way to fully close off the rooms, they are violating HIPAA due to everything being heard in other rooms. I heard the clerk asking for the full name, DOB, verifying insurance, etc. That is not acceptable. Parking: I was in the Justin Tower; they do have valet, but I'd be leery of using it. There was so much going on around the cars, I wouldn't feel comfortable adding my car to the mix. There's plenty of parking around that tower; parking elsewhere would be a short, but brief walk.

The parking downtown can always seem intimidating, but for such a big hospital in a crowded downtown area, the parking was pretty easy. I do wish that they had a sky bridge from the parking lot into the hospital like they did for the employees, but it was locked. That being said, I've had worse experiences at hospitals, but I don't really have a complaint about this one.
