Since no pictures are allowed inside, I couldn't post any, and i forgot to get one from outside. This is a spacious center to accommodate the high volume of donors. The setup typically runs quickly. However, sometimes they send screener home with a long line still, so that extends the process at times. If you're a regular donor you'll benefitfrom the higher pay, however if you don't donate for a break of 30-35 days you will be dropped on levels, which happened to be during the Thanksgiving holiday time. I went to donate and the line was wrapped back to the door and not wanting to be there until 9pm or later I left, I then had a sample taken and didn't meet the requirements to donate so that delayed my donations as well. After getting busy with work, I finally had an opportunity to go in and have labs done again to be eligible but had to wait another week for the results, which pushed me beyond the apparent grace period to get dropped "donor level". When I went to donate afer a short period of not going I learned I was bumped down to level 1 ($40/donation) which had I known I would have just jumped to another center and reaped the rewards for being a new donor, and let them profiteven greater by cashing in on my donations. I think it would be more fair to stop the day count from dropping levels. Overall, this location is good and speedy as long as they have the staff available. Just beware of you ever treasure a short break from donating, you will be penalized with a reduction in pay for your donations until you work your way back up the level which fortunately is quick to do, but still a lot less than when you donate twice a week religiously. read more

When they did, no one directed where to go they ignored you and continued talking until I look at them directly now they're paying attention 4 workers in one section while a whole other section left unattended and left in the dark. They were rude when we asked questions on when we would be helped? We were ignored. Probably the worst and longest experience I've had donating. read more

Young girl goes and stabs my arm hard as shit and completely misses my vein and fucks with my arm and the needle causing discomfort and pain, she finally asked older lady for help and I assumed the worst was behind me. come to find out I'm sitting in the chair wasting my time because the machine keeps stopping everyone around me coming and going. Was told I wasn't allowed to donate anymore at any Octapharma location due to "fail" syphilis std test when I do have current stds results from my own doctor 3 weeks before hand !! My doctor was confused to why they said I was tested positive for syphilis AND yes I got tested again that same day I was told the news and doctor called me yesterday stating it came back negative again so it was Octapharma fault for the mishaps! I was told I could get it lifted up by showing the second proof stating I am negative now they said no that regardless they cant take me back read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Please go to CSL or Biolife if you want to donate. This place ruptured my bf's vein and his arm was purple and black for weeks. I won't lie, it looked grotesque. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because I understand flukes happen. My first visit there was no issues but my second visit (I'm supposed to receive $125 this visit), it took two workers moving the needle around painfully in my arm before they asked to try my other arm. I politely declined since I didn't want to look like a pin cushion and asked them to keep trying the same arm. The worker told me to just try again tomorrow and I begrudgingly said okay (wasted an hour of my time that day for nothing). My next visit (the very next day) they told me I forfeited the $125 by leaving the previous day even tho NO ONE informed me that that would happen. I would've stayed and let them try my other arm if that was the case. They also informed me of this AFTER the second donation was complete so I had no choice but to accept $50 less than what I was owed and be on my merry way. This place has now scarred my bf and me before we could even make it to the 3rd donation. Don't give them the benefit of the doubt like I did, JUST DONT GO HERE. I went from 65 dollars to only 40 and somehow my card was negative 1.80. So I only got paid 38 something. I had not used it in a while so that was strange. I know people donate for different reasons and I will be honest I do it for the extra cash I need it. My issue is what's my plasma value 90-65-40 what's its real value? The only reason I give them stars is because the ladies are nice and one bathroom stall is always clean. You would think they pay more considering inflation, supply and demand? Wait was long. That's normal. The thing that isn't normal is for staff to tell you you're wrong when you say the blood isn't flowing correctly. I've donated 30-50x at locations across the area, and I have never been told that the yellow light meant nothing. They missed my vein and I told them for 10-15 minutes (an exceptionally long first draw for me as I have very big veins) that they would send someone over. It got to my return and my vein started blowing up. It reached the size of a large golf ball and me saying I was going to yank the needle out before anyone came to my attention. I GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO star if I could... don't come here... Been here about 5 times but only donated 4 times. I have had issues with some of the employees who believe they are better than others. I was banned for two months today due to TWO supervisors (Arethia and Pedro) who thought they were able to stick my vein. They ruined my vein and my arm is now bruised. Please be very careful on who sticks the needle in your arm. They will not pay you out if incidents happens like this. They simply just say "sorry" and ban you. The manager can careless about how your arm is doing. He will hire almost anyone even with lack of experience of sticking people. THE EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE STUCK ME WERE SUPERVISORS AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE. The people working in the front? Great. Floor? Depends. I got stuck bad, no big deal. Went high pressure return. They told me drink water and all this... first off. High Pressure Return can be caused by quite a bit...like saying leaving someone hooked up and not paying attention. You'll clot the line in minutes. I had been going awhile and this seems to be something that happens alot. Rather than fix it, they put an icepack on you while you're sweating real bad and stare at the machine. They'll document you as having a reaction. Which is caused by them...lol. They restick me other arm, same thing. The line is super dark at this point because they kept turning pressure up and down. Get home, massive hematoma first arm. Massive. It looks like I was in a motorcycle accident. High Pressure return indicates a bigger problem than the filter. Infiltration not extravasation. My arm is screaming right now. I'm hurtin'. Feels like I been working out all day you know what kind of ache I mean. I'm just gonna eat a ton of food, take some otc's and pass out. One really busy days it's definitely gonna be a long waiting process but they do try to get you in and out. Some draw backs are that some people don't stick correctly and bruise you but after the first time you get bruised you will find those who don't and use those people only. read more

This place is filled with complete morons. I've donated here before, this will be my second donation, but at the other location on West Ave, which was another shit show. When I first donated I understand that the process takes a long time which wasn't even the issue. The issue was that the staff that was on the floor had an attitude and they seemed like they weren't trained efficiently. This location takes forever. I'm here before 7:30 and there's 2 people in front of me who haven't even been seen yet. No one's doing anything but sitting around! Ridiculous. A guy told me to go to the back to get started and a lady gave me attitude. If you plan on donating here now expect at least an hour wait for a bed and don't plan on being unplugged for about 45 minutes once your done! The only one who works with a sense of urgency is Michelle! You have staff who are in there on their day off that just cut in front of everyone who is waiting (no fast pass used, but skipped all 6 of us waiting ) I enjoyed doing something good and now it's not worth the wait! This place sucks ( Bandera/410).. the screening takes forever they always have only 2 people screening with a line that almost reaches the entrance ... no sense of urgency on management ...... if their is any on hand... I've had employee Corina twice who's slower then a sloth ... sat on bed for 33 minutes to get attended .. donated at the Walzem location with the same amount of donors & was out in an hour ..as oppose to 2 & half hours here . I decided to come to this location because it is closer to my home. But now I would rather drive further for better service. This has got to be the slowest location on earth. You have to sit and wait 30-45 before you get called to a bed. Then you have to wait another 30-45 minutes while laying in the bed for them to come and start the plasmapheresis process. Lastly, you still have to wait about 15-30 for them to remove everything while you are freezing cold. Oh I how I wish I was exaggerating on the time frame. This is my second time coming here this week and I was trying to give them another chance. I will definitely be returning to the location on Walzem. read more
