It started of interesting, then reeeeally swung toward the positive. Parking is still a little weird, but we found a spot around the corner. Then we were able to get a table in the patio-like area, which has a pretty set up! You have to text a number to pull up the menu on the phone, BUT once we got our orders in, things started to look up! IMPORTANT TO NOTE: There is FREE hookah before 6pm on weekdays. Heart eyes, okay? They were out of a few wines we tried to order, but the bottle of Pinot Grigio we settled on was actually really tasty. And when the food came, the portions were HUGE! It was fried heaven and GREAT eating. I really like the calamari and truffle potatoes personally. Maybe next time I'll try the crab soup. Also a fan of the octopus egg rolls. The vibe was great and more people started to trickle in as the night went on, so it was active and the playlist was lit. We stayed longer than expected, and we would have stayed even longer if schedules allowed. In short, very pleased with my experience.

March 2025: I kicked off my weekend at Octopus ATL, and let me tell you--it did not disappoint! If you're looking for a seafood and Mediterranean spot with great vibes in the heart of Atlanta, this is it. Our server was super friendly and helped us to navigate the menu to choose the most delicious menu items. Brunch here runs every Saturday & Sunday until 5 PM, and they do it right. I grabbed a seat on their gorgeous garden patio, enjoyed the fresh air, and indulged in: Chicken & Waffles - crispy, flavorful, and the perfect sweet-savory combo Lamb Chops & Eggs - cooked just right and packed with flavor Calamari - crispy and tender with the perfect dipping sauce Fried Shrimp - seasoned to perfection The music kept the energy high, the cocktails were chef's kiss, and the vibes? Absolutely unmatched. Plus, they've got $75 Moët Rosé bottles, shisha, and plenty of TVs if you're trying to catch the game. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, planning a date night, or just switching up your usual brunch plans--Octopus ATL is definitely worth checking out! 1551 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 Will I be back? Absolutely.

Octopus kitchen is my go to for free hookah and great food. The ambiance is a vibe and they have good food and music. If you need a great server make sure you ask for Izzy. She is amazing!

What a weird little place. This place is prime for a pros and cons list: Pros: food is great and fresh, service is great, hookah burned great, ambiance is quirky, vibe is distinctly Atlanta, and the bar is impressive in terms of look and variety. There are TVs everywhere and I love watching sports so that's fun too. I like the decorations a lot as it has an updated but older feel with character. Cons: this place is very, VERY overpriced. Salad, 5 shrimp, and rice for $41 is just unnecessary. I got metal detected upon walking in which was fine except that means there's a reason they're metal detecting on the way in which is not great. "Standard" valet was $20 to move my car maybe 5 feet. This place has no idea what to be. Is it an upscale seafood restaurant? A hookah lounge? A sports bar? A club? Yes to all. I'm not mad about it as the concept seems viable enough. It's just confusing and a bit of a rip. 4/5

Mussels- good, the sauce is very rich, a bit too much so..

We came mid day on a Sunday. The place wasn't too busy. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was hit and miss.. we liked the truffled potatoes appetizer and calamari. We were not fans of the crab soup. The Sautéed Octopus stole the show, it was delicious. The mussels were tender but the creamy sauce was almost overly rich.. the linguine was ok. Overall, we enjoyed our time. The only thing that would make me go back however, was the octopus dish.

Celebrated my 45th bday here, this past Saturday, 11-25-2023. I made reservations for a party of 25 ppl for 6:30. My first impressions when I walked in was, I thought it was small, and thought I was a bit over-dressed, but hey it was my bday, so I dressed for MY NIGHT! The hostess at the front was very young and apparently didn't know much about the restaurant or valet parking info. We were seated in the very front b/c that's the area that they reserved for us. Our waitress, Roxy was attentive and very helpful...well at least to me. One of my guests said that she was rude to them. Also, one more thing to add, from the pics. I thought that this was more of a classy, grown n sexy spot...NOT! However, it was still nice! The waitresses had on booty shorts...not a good look to celebrate a grown n sexy bday...but hey..is what it is! I ordered fried shrimp as an appetizer, which was very tasty. For my entree' I ordered the lamb chops...VERY GOOD! So good, that my friend n her husband was picking at my leftover bones!! LMBO!! My husband initially ordered the seafood pasta, which he returned b/c he didn't know it was spicy and he said that it wasn't good AT ALL! His replacement order was shrimp pasta which he said was a much better choice! Be aware that parking is a bit confusing! We valet ($20) parked, but mostly everyone else parked in other areas close to the restaurant and just walked the short distance. All in all, we had a good time and enjoyed the food and drinks! P.S. I didn't receive my complimentary champagne that I was included, but not a big deal b/c I'm not a big drinker. Also, hookah was complimentary (which I did receive).

Lamb chops and double side of fries

So I met a friend for lunch here when they had a 50% special on the entire menu. She'd been but it was my first time. We both had lamb chops. I substituted the rice and broccoli that it usually comes with for a double side of fries. I do wish there was more variety in the sides but the fries were really good. Lamb chops were tender and juicy. The place is small but it's a cute little feel. They have hookah too for those that like it. Our waiter was really nice too. No complaints about her. A 20% gratuity is added which was fine with me. I'd go back for. Just don't like the parking situation. Valet is $30 so I parked across the street and just walked over.

My fish was REALLY REALLY good, my husbands pasta was a bit bland and the shrimp were overcooked, the drinks were SKRONG! This is the perfect place to meet up with a friend to have cocktails to talk crap about your work week, do a little hookah, and listen to your favorite jams. My husband and I went here for a date night, and though it wasn't what we expected it was a really good vibe and would come back again. I will say the service was a bit slow but our server was nice and the owner was really friendly as well.

I went on Valentine's Day which is probably the main reason for the over-crowding. We were initially sat at a table between two other tables but the tables were so close it felt like we were on a date with the 4 ppl beside us. Idk if this was just due to it being Valentine's Day or if it's always set up in this manner. Luckily we were able to move to the bar and that was much more comfortable. We ordered drinks, amazing margaritas btw!, and had the shrimp basket and lemon pepper buffalo wings and a Caesar salad. The food came out pretty quickly given the crowd and everything was delicious. The music was creating a great vibe and the service was great. I'll definitely try it out again.

I visited this place today. I had a hard time finding parking so I had to call. I get the info (valet only). I'm fine with that. I get sat in the back and Izzy is our server. She is nice. We asked for water but she didn't mention it is a $4 bottle until the check comes. I asked about the date special I had seen online (they don't tell you about it). We order oyster appetizer. It took so long. We are sitting by a window so we see her when she leaves from the back to the front. She is mingling with her coworkers up front. The oysters aren't at the table. Not sure why but she stayed up front while someone else brought the oysters back to us. The meals are brought out a short time later. The Turf in the Surf and Turf was tender but overcooked (ordered medium- received medium well). The lobster had no seasoning - no butter, no garlic. The lamb chops were tough and overcooked as well. It had no seasoning. I asked for salt and pepper but it did nothing to help the flavor. Then comes the check. The check is presented on the black thing in her hand. She goes over the check but conveniently does not scroll to the bottom. But I am a numbers person and 100 for the date night special plus 8 for the 2 waters does not make anything 140. So I told her she is moving too fast and asked her what the difference was. She says taxes. By this time I done moved that tab back to the receipt side (she had done moved to the tip screen). I scroll to the bottom. I asked her what the $20+ was for (taxes were like $8). My friend says gratuities. So now I am angry - not because I wasn't going to tip but because she left that out and tried to get me to do an ADDITIONAL tip! She says she was going to mention it. No you weren't. You were on the screen telling me to select a tip. So then she says it is on the menu. No. It is not. The menu is digital. So after I paid, she left and NEVER came back to the table. I looked on the site for this 20% on all tabs. No where to be found. I like to try new restaurants but I won't be back to this one. And I won't refer anyone. Because all she had to do was BE HONEST. Don't try to get over on people who visit your establishment. I also drove from Augusta just to visit...2 hour drive to get disappointed! Food: 2/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.

I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! This year the drinks were blah, the food was mediocre, the vibe was non-existent, and the service was the bare minimal. I have been to other pop-ups this year and would recommend any of them over this include Rreal Taco down the street or Hamp & Harry's or even just picking up the Grinch Happy Meal at McDonald's. Pros: Parking onsite, Reservations (sort of), friendly host (best part of the experience) and server (but absent), nice decorations. Cons: Expensive, boring drinks, overcooked and poorly plated food, not a lively nor festive vibe, poor communication and customer service. Even though this is the only pop-up pre-charging for their event and it was significantly more than a year ago, we liked having a booked time and it was a great experience previously so we booked in early November, but within an hour of booking, we had to adjust the time via OpenTable to a couple hours later. Faster forward to two days before our booking. Confirmations comes in and we notice it is the old time. Called, left messages, send messages through multiple means. Zero response. No waters or anything. Bring complementary margaritas at 810 but only 4 and there are 6 of us. The waitress was dismissive and there was no one else in the bar when we got there. Finally seated at 830 even though they are timed reservations and said they were going to be asking people to wrap within 15 mins of 730. Food was so basic and slapped on the table. Drinks were not festive at all. Ran out of hot chocolate. No festive cups or anything. It was the most mediocre experience I have had. Skip it!
